Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization claims US projectiles struck the under-construction Darkhovin nuclear power plant site in Khuzestan province overnight (July 18-19).
The IAEA is investigating the reported attack. It states:
- The site is in very early construction stages
- Contained no nuclear material
- No radiological risk
US Central Command has conducted recent strikes on Iranian targets (focused on military capabilities), but has not specifically confirmed Darkhovin as a target in official statements.
