👉 Nowdays ribbed mat is being used commonly in Ethiopia.
👉 Although many projects are available, let's see the ribbed mat foundation provided for Government Communication Affairs office building.

✔️ Ribbed mat
👉 It is becoming more popular this days owing to its ease in analysis and economy generated from decreased depth from punching ( no punching at all since beams are available between columns).
👉 Ribbed mat is an inverted solid slab system. Meaning the beams are upstanding and the load is acting in upward direction.
👉 usually used under one or more of the following conditions( p.c. varghese) :
✅ when there is an unsymmetrical load arrangement on columns
✅ when the column spacing are so large that the depth of the slab required for a flat slab( solid mat) mat becomes too large.
✅ when the foundation soil is not very uniform and we expect soft spots in the foundation area.
👉 The foundation consists slab and an upstanding beam.
👉 It is more rigid than solid mats and more efficient in distribution of loads( P.c varghese) .

✔️ common foundation for buildings higher than G+10( depends on the subsoil character, May become lower than this if black cotton soil is encountered )
👉Mat(raft) foundation
➡️Commonly two types of mat foundation are available.
✅Ribbed mat( beam and slab mat)
✅solid mat ( flat slab mat )
➡️ Ribbed mat can be described simply as an inverted solid slab subjected to bearing pressure as load.
➡️ solid mat( uniform depth mat ) can be described as a flat slab subjected to bearing pressure as load.

👉 It is not actual library, it is the facade of a parking garage.
👉The garage behind the " book" was constructed in 2006.
👉The facade was made to look like a book shelf based on community input.

Beam on Axis B, which is designed as T Beam, is done in the pdf file below.
✔️ Flanged beams and one way slabs
👉The Pdf document provided below discusses everything you need to know about one way slab and flanged beams.
