#Grammar #Lesson 6⃣ PAST TENSE 👉 a tense expressing an action that has happened or a state that previously existed. 👆የተከሰተውን ድርጊት ወይም ከዚህ ቀደም የነበረውን ሁኔታ የሚገልጽ past tense ይባላል። Types of past tenses ✅There are four types of past tenses 1. Simple past 2. Past Continuous 3. Past perfect 4. Past perfect continuous 1. Simple past tense Simple past tense is used to talk about a completed action in a time before now. The simple past is the basic form of past tense in English. The time of the action can be in the recent past or the distant past and action duration is not important. 👆Simple past tense ከአሁን በፊት ስለ ተጠናቀቀ ድርጊት ለመነጋገር ይጠቅማል። በእንግሊዘኛ ቋንቋ ያለፈ ጊዜን ለመግለፅ ይጠቅማል። የምንገልፀው ጊዜ በቅርብ ጊዜ ውስጥ ወይም ሩቅ ያለፈ ሊሆን ይችላል እና የድርጊቱ ቆይታ አስፈላጊ አይደለም። Form:- Sub + V2 + O Positive Sentence Subject + V2 +Object 👉 Julia made a sponge cake. 👉 He went to the hill station Negative Sentences We use ‘not’ after auxiliary verb to make the sentence negative Subject + did + not + Base form (V1) + object. 👉 Julia did not make a sponge cake. 👉 He did not go to the hill station. Question Sentences To make the question, auxiliary verb come at the start of the sentence and question mark at the end. Did + subject + base form (V1) + object + ? 👉 Did Julia make a sponge cake? 👉 Did he go to the hill station?
