| 2 | one of my favorite shows is " the office." no matter how many times i watch it, i laugh. it got me through a whole christmas one year. the other day, as i was listening to a mashup of tucker carlson denying he said something i just watched him say two seconds ago, i thought, " tucker carlson is turning into michael scott. 😂 the smartest buffoon in the room." so wise in his own eyes, so smitten with his own intellect, while claiming he never knows what anything means. like the word " ally." 🙄
but michael scott is nice. tucker is seething with rage. that must be an exhausting way to live. | 74 |
| 3 | i am watching the footage of the absolute horrific devastation from the two earthquakes in venezuela!!!!! first tyranny, now this! there have been TWENTY aftershocks so far! ( source: tousi tv.)
i am so Happy that the United States is sending search and rescue teams, medical aid, etc!
Lord, Jesus! i do not know what to pray! be near to the broken- hearted, rescue and comfort and save all. 💔

| 4 | The Lord did it AGAIN! one extremely fun thing about giving Jesus control over your Life in italy is, He does impossible things for you.
so you know how i secretly prayed for a room where i am, right after i was told there were no rooms? haha. then, suddenly, there was a cancelation and i found myself sleeping in the formerly impossible room? well, there was no room again tonight. but sometime between last night and this morning, i prayed two things, " Lord, could you please give me a room again? then, " thank You, Lord that i will have a room again tonight." this was all before a cappuccino. haha. and what happened? not just any room,my favorite one, the one i had booked from thursday,, onward, OPENED. i just had to go downstairs, eat cake for breakfast, drink my cappuccinos, and visit with my friends. then just move rooms!
is there anything too hard for The Lord? no. and nothing too small either. " you are MINE, little, g. you are the apple of MY eye. so guess what? you're getting your favorite room, one day early. I AM with you. do not be dismayed. follow Me. do not fear."
look what The Lord keeps doing! making a WAY. when there is no way. Jesus IS THE WAY. He is not the last option. He holds all the options and gives without reproach. ASK. ask again. knock. knock again. you asked for bread, you will not be given a stone. wait for Gesù. 🤎

| 5 |  today i finally made it to a hair salon! haha. i feel a million times better. this is no dramatic reveal, i just Love being a woman and being Happy about getting my hair done. haha.

| 6 | i realized the woman siting across from me in the lobby is deaf. i do not think she realized i had this fancy limp until a few minutes ago. she looked at me the same Way i looked at her the moment i realized she was deaf. neither of us looked at each other with pity, neither one of us tried to infantilize the other, we did not really think much about it actually. we only let each other know without saying a word that Help was near if it was needed.
this is one of the hardest things to show people who do not have disabilities. you can always tell people who have worked with disabled people before. they do not insult your intelligence. they do not try to remove your agency.
in my experience, the uninitiated, either start off admiring all you have overcome and really listen to what you do and don't need- ( a very small group of people stay there), then eventually, they begin to try to treat you like a child, someone to be managed and reprimanded if you do not comply with what they believe is best for you.
vulnerability is not childishness. it is not weakness. it is beautiful.
the other group of people infantilize you from the beginning and get highly offended when you tell them you do not need the help they are offering and then want to withdraw all assistance until you explain what they do not see.
i am always grateful for those who are willing to understand.

| 7 | meanwhile, some old italian guy named sergio, tried to convince me to go on a date with him. i was not interested for a number of reasons but i only gave him one of them: " no, you are very kind but you just told me yourself you are a salesman."
he was not sad, he enjoys a game. after he left, the girls told me he not only does this to all of them, but sergio is a married man. i looked at my friends and said, " his poor wife! she must know, deep inside i think a woman knows. i would cry and cry if i were her." they said they would too.
so, i was delivered from sergio. haha. 😂 no dinner for me! THANK GOD! 😂 | 89 |
| 8 | i have the most remarkable story about the provision of God. so, where i am staying, there is no vacancy for the next three nights, and i was just going to return here after that. last night, i kept trying to sort it out, you know, and nothing was working. but i also just kept having this sense that i needed to wait for God to show me where to go, and He was not doing that yet. and i am thinking, okay, i will wait for you, Lord, but the fact is, i have to check out tomorrow, and i do not know where to go.
well, of course He knows this, right, and so all i knew to do was to finish packing up and come downstairs this morning for my customary giant american cappuccinos and a little cake. and as i was sitting there, my mind was just going, what do i do now?
there was zero direction about what to do. and i kept trying to think and seek God, but no direction was coming.
and in my walk with Jesus, i have not always been perfect in this. sometimes, i have tried to do things according to my own understanding when i think He is taking too long, haha, but i have learned that when you do not know what to do, you wait. then, just as i was preparing to leave, to come and, you know, leave the area where i was having my breakfast and come and try to figure out what to do now, a man walked in and on his shirt i saw the verse jeremiah 29:11 which i never see here. now, bear in mind, this happens the minute that i am getting up to try to figure out what to do with my life next, haha, and this stranger has no idea. in fact, no one but Jesus knew that i was lost regarding my next step. i was tempted to feel sad, discouraged, and lonely. so, i thought i had better change that in a hurry and began listening to a devotional about how God has planned out every moment of our lives, and that is when the man walked in and i saw jeremiah 29:11 on his shirt. “I know the plans I have for you, declares The Lord, plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you a future and a hope.”
turns out that he is a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ and we were rejoicing in this when i got around to the fact that i am trying to figure out where to go now. and he was in the middle of something but he said “i will be back. i am going to make some calls on your behalf.”
can you believe this?
the second i am getting up to try to figure out what to do now, a man walks in with his shirt proclaiming “I know the plans I have for you, says The Lord, plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you a future and hope. and now all you have to do is sit down, and be calm, and wait for the answer. I will guide you with My eye upon you. you will hear a voice behind you, saying, this is the way you walk in it." well, his shirt did not say all of that, but you get the point, haha. 😂
and so, i am just letting you know this extraordinary demonstration of the glory of God on my behalf, to encourage you, if you have no idea what to do next, and it is down to the wire. the Lord is with you down to the wire.
and He will show you the way. jeremiah 29:11.

update: haha. i had just finished writing this when i was told there is no room for me here as they had Hoped. does this make the Story less remarkable? absolutely not! maybe even MORE remarkable! | 10 |  i just got this picture from home! look how good my fluffy little missus and my tiny giant are doing!God is using my friend to watch over them for me and this picture makes me feel so much better!
my friend will play my voice for them, and for my own sake, i just said to them, " i will always come back for you." i am so glad they will hear my voice, this has been troubling me and Jesus wanted to address that, so what did He do? sent me a darling picture so i can Trust Him to Love what i Love, more than i do. 😻😻

| 11 |  in general, i am not a hard candy enthusiast. i almost never eat candy in America. now i find myself rummaging through the giant candy bowl in the lobby and picking out as many lime flavored candies as i can stuff in my pockets and still appear dignified. i fear, at this point, if there were some kind of device for finding all the candy within a five mile radius, an intervention may be needed. 😂

| 17 |  never a dull moment for a foreign girl in italy. haha. in my tiny house of the moment, i was able to throw some laundry in the washer dryer combo machine and i was SO HAPPY. ah, but remember the absolute nightmare i had with a combo machine back home? well, that one was probably made by satan. 😂 i finally had to throw it away. the one here is great except for one thing -and it is a major difference. in two separate machines, you can throw clothes previously washed together, in together. now, i am not talking about blinding white with red, because i am not a moron. i am talking about my cream jacket i have washed a billion times, with normal clothes. NOPE. the combo machines bleed colors. especially on a five and one half hour cycle. 😳
WELL. IT WAS CREAM. now it looks like dirty dishwater. so tomorrow i will soak it in an oxy solution and see if i can save it.

i was going to stop the video , but then mr. dolan got all dramatic about the boiling sun, so i kept rolling. and his impersonations! 😂 he does his commercials in the voice of king charles whilst talking to his geraniums. i nearly die laughing.
