installation on the exhibition “artists against the kremlin III: memory remains”
the installation is dedicated to the “immortal regiment”—a grassroots movement commemorating the victims and participants of world war II that was partially co-opted by the state and transformed into one of the key political rituals of putin’s russia. the “immortal regiment” exemplifies how the space of historical memory can give place to a triumphalist myth that displaces memory itself.
the “immortal regiment” originated in tomsk in 2012; it was also partially there—in critical response to it—that the party of the dead emerged a few years later.
the “immortal regiment” brings the deceased participants of the war out onto the streets. but what if we give a voice not only to those victorious dead who suit the state’s wishes, but to the dead in general?

инсталляция посвящена «бессмертному полку» – низовому движению по коммеморации жертв и участников 2 мировой войны, частично захваченному государством и превратившемуся в один из главных политических ритуалов путинской россии. на примере «бессмертного полка» можно наблюдать, как место исторической памяти даёт место также и для вымещающего память победоносного мифа.
«бессмертный полк» возник в 2012 году в томске – там же (отчасти) как критический ответ на него несколько лет спустя появилась и партия мёртвых.
«бессмертный полк» выводит на улицу умерших участников войны. но почему бы не дать слово не только удобным для государства мертвецам-победителям, но и всем мёртвым вообще?

| 4 | пишут, в петербурге из-за давнишних донатов фбк задержали игоря зайцева. подментованная помойка "baza" выкладывает видео с обыска. помню, как уже больше 10 лет назад (в 14м? 15м?) ходил к игорю на семинар, где мы пробовали читать "тотальность и бесконечное" левинаса. я тогда ещё на что-то надеялся в академической жизни, и начал писать книгу об онтологии как войне, которую так и не закончил. как раз таки война была у левинаса выражением тотальности - вполне себе тоталитарного порядка вещей, альтернативой которому могла быть только этика как бесконечное.
здесь полагается быть ритуальной фразе о поддержке, или даже требованию свободы для всех политзаключённых, но я, честное слово, уже не знаю, что говорить: "лучи поддержки" рассеиваются над полями войны. но, тем не менее, пусть хотя бы такие фразы будут | 47 |

| 8 |  Tonight, we open Emigration to the Future with a coffin in the sky.
At 18:00, Maxim Evstropov — artist, philosopher and founder of the Party of the Dead — opens the festival with Necro Kite Festival, a workshop and performance in the Lidl car park.
The performance grows from Russian cosmism, which imagined defeating death, resurrecting the dead and expanding human life into space. Evstropov turns that enormous promise into an absurd collective gesture: together, we will build a coffin kite and launch it into the Berlin sky.
The Party of the Dead works with necro-activism, Dadaist absurdity and black humour, confronting the political appropriation of death, memory and the future.
Come to the opening. Help the coffin take flight.

👀 POPULAR SCIENCE — SMART EMIGRATION TO THE FUTURE
Lectures at Chto Delat and at Quarteera, Arkonaplatz 5. Scientists who left home and kept working at the edge of their fields, talking without the jargon: molecular chirality, genes, the Einstein Telescope for gravitational waves, quantum games played with a pencil and a sheet of squared paper. Each talk runs 45 to 90 minutes, with a discussion afterwards.

The festival opens on Friday at 18:00 on the Lidl car park, with kites. It closes on Sunday at 19:30 with a noise concert on Nettelbeckplatz. Between those two points: installations in a garden, a play in a private flat, a dance performance in the S-Bahn, a workshop that redraws the city's mobility, and lectures from scientists who left home and kept working.
Most of it happens at ExBrache, the garden at ExRotaprint on Reinickendorfer Straße. Ten works stay up all three days; the evening programme changes daily.
Free entry everywhere.

| 18 | [нечеловеческие отношения]
Часто отношения с животными или иными существами-компаньонами представляют как замещение или компенсацию несостоявшихся отношений с людьми – родительских или партнёрских. Парадоксальным образом, всё обстоит скорее наоборот: межчеловеческие отношения можно рассматривать как замещение и компенсацию отсутствующего животного (или другой нечеловеческой жизни).
Межчеловеческие отношения – какие-то мутные по существу, они поедены «духом» и опосредствованы негативностью. Лишь в редкие моменты они могут раскрыться как животная, растительная или какая-то другая жизнь (в основном это моменты детства, а также эротические моменты). С котами в целом жить лучше, чем с людьми. При всей своей многосложности, человеческие связи никогда не приносят такой же радости, как наблюдение за ростом растений, или же вид моллюска, поедающего лист салата. Возможно, мы вообще ищем животное или иную нечеловеческую жизнь в тех, кого мы любим. И постоянно терпим в этих поисках неудачу – ведь животного, как и природы, не существует.
Велик соблазн пуститься здесь в антропологические спекуляции (т.е. запустить в ход пыхтящую и скрежещущую антропологическую машину): дескать, человека сделала человеком как раз эта способность выстраивать связи с нечеловеческими существами – при неспособности к гармоничным и устойчивым внутривидовым отношениям. Межчеловеческие отношения включают момент отталкивания – Батай, например, представлял взаимное отвращение как конститутивный элемент человеческих сообществ.
На всё это можно возразить, во-первых, тем, что нечеловеческие существа также выстраивают многочисленные и сложные связи с отличными от себя существами, и также могут отталкивать себе подобных. Во-вторых, человеческие отношения с нечеловеческими существами далеко не всегда есть что-то гармоническое и легко оборачиваются эксплуатацией. Нечеловеческая жизнь есть предельно исключённое – столь же предельный характер носит и эксплуатация нечеловеческих существ (и это до сих пор – обширное слепое пятно на глазу у многих).
И вся антропология, будь то гуманистическая или не-гуманистическая, сводится к тривиальной формулировке: «человек – это не человек» (таков алгоритм антропологической машины).
