Back in May of 2023, following my work on the Predator DC series, I built an AI-powered web scraping system for tracking down online sexual predators.
Very quickly, this system started flagging predators and uncovering their true identities.
In one of our the first cases, Predator DC turned in a previously convicted sex offender named Donald Nickell for boasting online about horrifying ongoing sex crimes against children.
Ultimately, FBI passed the case to DHS-HSI, who conducted an investigation and found Nickell in possession of massive amounts of CSAM.
