🔑 Norwich Shard Storm ends in 60-10 RES landslide!! 🎤 I caught up with myself, mimtwin, to get a hot take on the Shard Storm poc experience after the Norwich Shard Storm ended with a great result for RES. “A Shard event in Norwich, again!?” This is what we said after we heard the news, thinking back to our 2024 victory in Norwich, UK. Momentary panic set in, until UKRES agents quickly volunteered to help with team building, promotion and strategic ideas too. Then additional Intel from Germany, Finland and Sweden were recruited and we got going in earnest. 🔺 Not everything can be done from far away though and locals spent a full week stealth farming weird and wonderful spots, a zoo, ruined churches and footpath signs, almost entirely in the rain. Except when I was farming Centre Parcs spa which was rather cosier. ☔️ Agents from UK, Germany, Japan, The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Czech Republic joined Norfolk RES on the (very rainy) day. And they were all very good at staying off comm until the main event. ⚡️ A highlight for us was when a massive blue block link went right through the city centre, to cut off access to some of ENL’s favourite portals. It’s still there! Check it out on Intel. 🚙 After some really hectic hours of battle against a strong opponent, and a lot of time spent in a swamp patting a friendly cow, we ended up tired and happy with our score of RES 60 - ENL 10! 🚂 A big thanks to everyone who struggled through traffic and train chaos to get to Norwich, and stayed out all day in the rain to bring home this epic victory!! 💬 Last word from me - Let’s do this again next year!!!* (*Other UK cities are available) #ShardStorm #Norwich

🇯🇵 Kōchi, Japan: The Resistance PoC on Their Victory Cygnus Shard Storm Event Day 2🎆🎉 On October 24, the Resistance won in Kōchi, Japan’s only Shard Storm host city. In this interview, Resistance PoC YBking03 looks back on the battle and the teamwork behind the victory. 🔥 Looking back on the victory, how do you feel?

I’m really happy we won! We knew Kōchi would be a tough battle. Getting there wasn’t easy, and hotel costs made it harder for people to come. Even so, agents traveled from across Japan, and others helped us remotely. I’m glad we were able to win with everyone’s help. I’ve been involved with the Resistance in different ways over the years, and this event reminded me that you can’t do everything on your own in Ingress.

🔥 What do you think was the key to your victory?

I think preparation made the biggest difference. We focused on what we could control and did as much as we could before the event. We were out securing portals the night before, and despite being outnumbered, we captured every portal we had targeted. We’d also thought about how the Enlightened might respond and prepared other options. That helped us adjust when things changed during the battle.

🔥 Was there a particular moment during the battle that stood out to you?

One moment that really stands out was getting a link through to a portal in the mountains, where cell reception was unreliable. There were Enlightened agents nearby, so I was feeling the pressure, but everyone worked well together, and we managed to get the link through quickly.

🔥As a leader, what was your toughest decision or biggest challenge?

Deciding what to prioritize and where to send people was the hardest part. We had limited numbers and very little time. Kōchi was the only Shard Storm location in Japan. For many agents, getting there required a lot of time and money, so there was a limit to how many people could come. We had to consider what we were up against and what our team could realistically do. A plan only works if you have people who can carry it out, pass on information, and respond when something changes. My decisions affected all of them, and I felt that responsibility. But I had a lot of support from the team, which helped me get through it.

🔥 How did you feel about the teamwork and the agents’ contributions during the Shard Storm?

I feel this win belonged to everyone who helped. We couldn’t have carried out our plans without the agents on the ground and everyone supporting us remotely. In Ingress, the agents at the portals tend to get the attention. There’s also a lot of work behind the scenes that people don’t always see. This time, I really felt how much we depended on those efforts.

🔥 Finally, do you have a message for the agents who fought alongside you?

Thank you to everyone who took part in or supported the Kōchi Shard Storm! Some of you traveled a long way to be there. Others helped behind the scenes or cheered us on from afar. We couldn’t have won without you, and your support kept me going until the end. Of course I’m happy we won, but being able to plan and fight alongside you all meant even more to me. I’m looking forward to seeing you at the next battle!

📰A great win for our agents in Kōchi! Thanks to YBking03 for sharing the team’s story, and to every agent who played a part in this victory.🎆 #CygnusShardStorm #BlueStorm #ResistanceUnited #EveryPointMatters #EveryAgentCounts #TogetherWeStand

🇫🇮 Helsinki beacons are blue!! 🥇 🦢 Meanwhile, 15 Resistance agents in Helsinki have gathered together three times so far to deploy battle beacons, and further meet ups are yet to come! 🔑 With over 100 portals beaconed, Agents have earned a lot of points toward their Cygnus Global Battles bounty campaign, and some have even claimed their golden Cygnus Global Battles medals. 🏴 Battle beacons won by the Resistance also contribute to the Cygnus Anomaly Season score which is being distributed by aggregate battle beacon checkpoint values during the Cygnus Global Battles period. A rumor has it, that a couple of brave smurfs interfered with a large number of Enlightened deployed Battle Beacons and made them blue as well! 🤭 📰 The agents told RGNN - Deploying Battle Beacons together is a fun and much more efficient way to claim your golden Cygnus Global Battles medal than deploying on your own. And the more battle beacons we deploy, the better season score we can get. So gather your fellow agents and get on deploying those Battle Beacons! #Cygnus #IngressResistance #BattleBeacons
