🌙 Ramadān Reminders #22: The Supplication for the Night of Qadr اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي "O Allāh! Verily You are the Oft-Pardoning, You love to pardon, so pardon me." Explanation of the name Al-’Afūw [ٱلْعَفُوُّ] Pardoner: - The name Al-’Afūw [Pardoner] is mentioned in the Qur'ān five times. - Al-’Afūw means that Allāh not only forgive the sin but also erases it and pardons the sinners by not calling them to account for those deeds. - This Name implies that He pardons the sins of the servant. He knows the sins of His servants but He does not call the servant to account for it. The servant is deserving of punishment, and Allāh has full ability to punish His servants, but Allāh does ‘Afūw for them. - When we ask for ‘Afūw, we are asking Allāh to completely erase the sin, such that its traces are also removed. - Everyone is in need of His pardon and forgiveness, as they are in need of His mercy and generosity. Action Plan: - Mention the supplication as much as possible in these blessed nights while contemplating on the above explanation. - Study the Beautiful Names of Allāh: Shaykhul Islām Ibn Tamīyyah mentioned, “Whoever knows the names of Allāh and their meanings, believing in them, will have a more complete faith than the one who does not know them but just believes in them in general." See Majmū' Fatāwa [vol. 7, p. 234]. Compiled by Ibrāhīm Hussain 30 March 2024 - 21 Ramadān 1445 Al-Ansār Group Read, Memorise & Share 📚 https://t.me/abuismailnotes

🌙 Ramadān Reminders #18: 5 Lessons From The Battle of Badr Today, on the 17th of Ramadān, is the day this great battle took place. The Battle of Badr was a turning point in the Prophet Muhammad’s ﷺ mission during the early days of Islām. 5 lessons from the battle of Badr that we can benefit from: 1 - Islāmic army is about quality individuals and not quantity: 313 Muslim warriors crushed an army of 950 enemy fighters armed to the tooth, this proves to us that numbers mean nothing in Islām. It is Allāh alone that gives us victory. A sincere devoted Muslim can be equal to a 100 men. Allāh says, “How many a small company has overcome a large company by the permission of Allāh." [2: 249] 2 - The Power of Allāh is Endless: He sent down angels to help the Muslims in the battle. This gives us comfort that Allāh will always protect His sincere slaves and those that struggle in His cause. Allāh says, “When you sought deliverance from your Lord and He answered you: Verily, I will reinforce you with a thousand angels, rank after rank” [8: 9] 3 - The power of supplication: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ raised his hands on the Day of Badr, saying “Oh Lord, if this group is destroyed, you will not be worshipped on this world at all.” Allāh accepted his supplication and gave him victory. 4 - Never fear the enemy: Always remember for the Muslim it is a win win scenario, if he dies it is martyrdom and if he lives he is victorious. Allāh says, "Say: “Do you wait for us [anything] except one of the two best things [martyrdom or victory]." [9: 52]. 5 - The importance of always being ready to sacrifice for the Sake of Allāh: Like how Sa’d Ibn Mu’ādh said to the Prophet ﷺ: “We have given you our binding promise, to hear and obey. March on as you desire and we are with you! I swear by Him Who has sent you with the truth, if you ask us to wade through the ocean, we will wade through with you, and not one of us will stay behind!.” There are so many lessons we can learn, above is only a few. 🌙 Ramadān Reminders #16: Supplications for our Muslim brothers & sisters who have been unjustly imprisoned Below are some supplications to say at the time of breaking your fast: No. 1: اللهُمَّ فُكَّ قَيْدَ أَسْرَانَا وَأَسْرىَ المُسْلِمِِينَ Allāhumma fukka qayda asranā' wa asral-Muslimīn "O Allāh! Break free the shackles of our prisoners and the prisoners of the Muslims." No. 2: اللهُمَّ رُدَّهُمْ إِلَى أَهْلِهِمْ سَالِمِينَ. Allāhumma ruddahum ila ahlihim salimīn. "O Allāh! Return them [the Muslim prisoners] safely to their families." No. 3: اللهُمَّ إِنَّهُمْ فِي حَاجَةٍ عَاجِلُةٍ إِلَى رَحَمَاتِكَ، فَأَنْزِلْ عَلَيْهِمْ رَحمَاتِكَ يَا رحْمَانُ يَا رَحِيمُ. Allāhumma innahum fi hājatin ‘ājilatin ila rahamātik, fa anzil alayhim rahamātika Ya Rahmānu, Ya Rahīm. "O Allāh! They are in urgent need of Your Mercies, so send upon them Your Mercies. O Most Merciful, O Most Kind. No. 4: اللهُمَّ مَنْ آذَاهُمْ فَآذِهِ وَمَنْ عَادَاهُمْ فَعَادِهِ. Allāhumma man ādhāhum fa ādhihi, wa man ādāhum fa ādihi. "O Allāh! Whoever has harmed them, then harm him, and whoever has shown enmity to them, then show enmity to them." 🌙 Ramadān Reminders #15: Virtue of Saying Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi (سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ وَبِحَمْدِهِ) Forgiveness of Minor sins: Narrated by Abū Huraira: Allah's Messenger ﷺ said, "Whoever says, 'Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi - Allāh is free from imperfection and His is the praise,' one hundred times a day, will be forgiven all his sins even if they were as much as the foam of the sea." Sahīh Bukhārī (no. 6405). Expression that is most loved by Allāh: Abū Dharr reported: The Messenger of Allāh ﷺ said to me, “Shall I tell you the expression that is most loved by Allāh?” It is: "Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi - Allāh is free from imperfection and His is the praise." Sahīh Muslim (no. 2731). A palm-tree will be planted in Jannah: Jābir reported: The Prophet ﷺ said, “For him who says: 'Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi - Allāh is free from imperfection and His is the praise,’ a palm-tree will be planted in Jannah.” Natā'ij Al-Afkār (1/104) of Hāfidh Ibn Hajr who graded it Hasan. Nothing better on the day of resurrection except one that says it more times: Abū Huraira reported Allāh's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying: "He who recites in the morning and in the evening (these words): Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi - Allāh is free from imperfection and His is the praise one hundred times, he would not bring on the Day of Resurrection anything excellent than this except one who utters these words or utters more than these words." Sahīh Muslim (no. 2692). Action Plan: - Allocate a time to say Subhān-Allāh wa bihamdihi a hundred times minimum. It takes less then 5 mins and such a great reward. - Dont end a day without reading it. Say it even when laying down to sleep if you haven’t in the daytime. - Teach others to say it so you may also get the reward. 🌙 Ramadān Reminders #10: Giving Charity on Behalf of the Deceased In this blessed month let us not forget the deceased members from our families and friends, let us be a means of benefit for them in their graves Inshā'Allāh. ‘A’ishah narrates that a man said to the Prophet ﷺ: 'My mother died suddenly and I think that if she could have spoken she would have given charity; will she have a reward if I give charity on her behalf?' He ﷺ said: “Yes.” Sahīh Bukhārī (no. 1388). Projects to give charity to: 1 - Assist in building a Islamic school for children who do not have access to Islamic education. 2 - Building an orphanage for Muslim families who are homeless. 3 - Sponsoring an orphan. 4 - Digging a well for Muslims who do not have access to clean water. 5 - Helping students of Islamic knowledge by printing books for them. Action Plan: - Give charity on behalf of the deceased TODAY by making the intention that a share of the reward goes to the deceased. - Let us be a means of benefit for those that have passed from our loved ones. - A sign of beneficial love is remembering the deceased after they have passed in our supplications and charity. 🌙 Ramadān Reminders #7: You are believers while Muslims are dieing due to hunger? Murih ibn Masrūq reported: Umar ibn al-Khattāb [May Allāh be pleased with him] said, “You consider yourselves to be believers while among you a believer is starving?” See Musnad al-Shāmīyīn lil-Ṭabarānī [no. 1040]. Action Plan: - Donate now to feed the poor today. - Praise Allāh for the food He has provided us. In the hustle and bustle of life, let's pause to appreciate the simplest yet most profound blessing: food & drink. - Remember the less fortunate when breaking our fast. - The Prophet ﷺ said, “O you in poverty, I bring you glad tidings that the poor believers will enter Paradise before the rich by half of a day, the length of which is like five hundred years." 🌙 Ramadān Reminders #6: What can my enemies do to me? Shaykh al-Islām Ibn Taymīyyah [May Allāh have mercy on him] said: “What can my enemies do to me? My paradise and my garden are in my heart wherever I go. They are with me and never leave me. If I am imprisoned, it is seclusion for worship. If I am killed, it is martyrdom. If they expel me from my land, it is tourism [spiritual journey].” See Al-Wābil al-Ṣayyib (1/48). Reflections: - On the path of Haqq [Truth] there will be trials but for the believer he carries the desire of Jannah and seeking the pleasure of Allāh in his heart wherever he may be placed. - Whatever the enemies of Allāh do they can’t deter the true believers from the path of Truth. - Always remind yourself we are working for Allāh and for His pleasure. - Whatever struggle we go through for the sake of Allāh is purification for us and elevation in the hereafter. - Remember the struggles of the Prophets and how they remained steadfast in the face of injustice. - Victory is not achieved without hard work and sacrifice.
