500 million women lack access to menstrual products, yet it still seems to be a taboo topic and something that some men feel uncomfortable discussing.

Why do period cramps happen, and what can help?
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐⭐
⭐⭐⭐ Almost every girl or
⭐⭐⭐ woman experiences period cramps at some point. They happen because your body produces hormones called prostaglandins, which make the uterus contract to shed its lining. These contractions can cause pain and cramping, but they are a normal part of the menstrual cycle.
🦋 During your period, it’s also a good idea to limit caffeine, sugary foods, and salty snacks. They may contribute to bloating, dehydration, or make some symptoms feel worse for certain people.
😀😀The good news is that there are simple, natural ways to feel better:
🌟A warm heating pad on your lower abdomen can help relax the muscles and reduce cramps.
🌟Chamomile tea may help you relax and improve sleep. Ginger is known for its anti-inflammatory properties and may help reduce menstrual pain.
🌟Some people also find that fenugreek seeds, soaked overnight in water, help with discomfort and bloating.
🌟A gentle massage of the lower abdomen using sesame oil or a mixture of coconut oil with lavender and peppermint essential oils may also provide relief.
🤩 Small self-care habits can make a big difference and help you feel more comfortable during your period.

HOW AND WHY DO GIRLS GET PERIODS?💚💚 💚💚The changes that happen 💚💚during puberty — such as acne, body hair growth, changes in your voice, body shape, and the start of menstruation — are a natural and important part of every girl’s development. They show that the body is growing, maturing, and developing as it should 🌟🌟It’s important to remember that menstruation is a normal biological process, not something “dirty” or shameful. Each month, the body prepares for a possible pregnancy by building a new lining inside the uterus, called the endometrium. If pregnancy does not occur, this lining is no longer needed, so it is naturally shed and leaves the body during a menstrual period. 🪷 That’s why menstruation is an essential part of the female reproductive system. 🔔Follow us on Telegram Instagram

🤩🤩From Women for Women Educational Series by Uyalma!
Today’s topic: Endometriosis
🥹 Endometriosis is a condition in which cells similar to the lining of the uterus grow outside the uterus. It affects an estimated 10% of women and girls of reproductive age worldwide.
🥹 Symptoms:
The main symptom of endometriosis is pelvic pain. It is often linked with menstrual periods. Although many people experience cramping during their periods, those with endometriosis usually describe the pain as much more severe than usual. The pain may also worsen over time.
🥹Causes:
During menstruation, some blood flows backward through the fallopian tubes into the pelvic cavity instead of leaving the body. Other possible causes include genetics, immune system problems, and stem cells.
😀Prevention:
Endometriosis cannot be completely prevented. However, you may lower your risk by maintaining lower estrogen levels, exercising regularly, and limiting alcohol.

Menstruation is natural.
Lack of access is not.
Millions of girls and women are still forced to miss school, feel ashamed, or use unsafe alternatives—simply because basic hygiene products aren’t accessible.
This isn’t just a health issue.
It’s an issue of dignity, equality, and human rights.
It’s time to stop treating menstrual hygiene as a privilege—and start treating it as a necessity.

Menstrual hygiene is a health right, not a luxury. Changing pads every 4–6 hours, safe products, and clean water reduce the risk of infections. Yet for many girls, “period poverty” means missing school or using unsafe alternatives. Uyalma is working to give girls free, safe access to pads and hygiene education. Join us. 🩸💛 #Uyalma #PeriodPoverty #MenstrualHealth #Uzbekistan
