| 4 |  From supporting girls in Uganda to making an impact in Kyrgyzstan🇰🇬 from tackling period poverty to uplifting kids through mental and emotional support!
Our teammate Nigina is leading this heartwarming new initiative. While conducting research for hospital collaborations and interviewing community members about period poverty for two months, she uncovered a heartbreaking reality: many young patients spend their days, and their birthdays lying in bed with little to brighten their spirits.
Determined to bring some magic into these hospital rooms, Nigina and a team of local friends decided to take action. They borrowed costumes from the “Русский центр” (huge shoutout to it!) and paid a special visit to the young patients to spark some joy!
Let’s rally behind them as our project grows far beyond its original boundaries. Ending period poverty is just the beginning: we’re here to support, care for, and bring hope to everyone we can. ✨ | 612 |

A lot of people told us “I can only donate 5–10k, is that even enough?”
YES. IT IS.
You might think 5,000–10,000 soʻm is too little to make a difference, but when everyone contributes what they can, it adds up. That’s exactly how we managed to send our first donation.
And yes, you wouldn’t be able to send 5k directly through spotfund because of their fees and the $20 minimum donation. But together, we found a way to make even the smallest contributions count!!! 🤍 The first packs of period pads are on their way to girls in Uganda!! 🩷

The problem is that the donation platform has a $20 minimum donation, which can be a lot for us as Uzbeks. And we don’t think helping someone should require you to give $20.

One day, Shivan met a 16-year-old girl hiding away. She told her she missed 3 to 4 days of school every month because she couldn’t afford sanitary pads.
Shivan started researching and found that many girls were facing the same problem. Some were using old clothes and even pieces of mattresses instead of pads.
She didn’t have much, but she used the money she had to buy that girl 3 packs of pads.
The girl was happy. She could finally go to school.
So she kept going, providing menstrual products to girls in her community and schools. | 732 |

How many women do you think die every year because their pain, health concerns, and experiences of violence are ignored?
Yesterday, we asked you this question, and many of you got the answer wrong.
The answer is 310,000 women every year. That’s around 850 women every single day.
Behind this number are real women whose problems are too often ignored.
One of those problems is period poverty. It affects girls in many parts of the world, including Uganda.

🪽🪽🪽We installed our first 10 sanitary pad boxes in different parts of Tashkent, and together, we’ve already made 600 pads available to girls and women who may need them.
☁️ This is only the beginning. Each box is a small step toward making menstrual products more accessible and creating spaces where no one has to feel ashamed or uncomfortable asking for something as basic as a pad.

🥥 Если слишком долго не менять прокладки, тампоны или менструальные чаши, во влажной среде начинают быстрее размножаться бактерии, что может привести к неприятному запаху, зуду или воспалению.
🪷 Чтобы этого избежать, важно регулярно менять средства гигиены, мыть руки до и после их замены и соблюдать обычную интимную гигиену без агрессивных средств. Не менее важно выбирать средство, которое подходит именно вам, и менять его в соответствии с рекомендациями.
🦋 Простые привычки помогают сохранить здоровье, чувствовать себя комфортнее и снижают риск возможных осложнений во время менструации.
