| 11 | Our team decided to visit mothers on a holiday weekend, and we came together to try something big — to reach about 8 mothers in one day. We prepared our gifts for the holiday and went out with one purpose: to show solidarity, to give support, and to celebrate. 🎁❤️
It was one of the most memorable days, both as individuals and as a team. Seeing most of the mothers with their new babies, with such big smiles! 😊 Seeing children crawling, full of life and energy. And seeing a community that truly knows these children and values their presence. It was such a joyful contrast to what could have happened months earlier if they had chosen abortion instead — sadness, regret, loneliness, and maybe a very quiet home.
But on that same day, we visited one of the mothers who had gone through with an abortion, even though she had agreed to continue her pregnancy after our counseling a few months before. As soon as we entered her home, we could feel the heaviness in the air. And the moment we stepped inside, her tears began falling without stopping — tears of regret and confusion. 😢 Our hearts broke for her. All we could do was comfort her in that moment and promise to stay in touch.
For us, it was a reality check again. Every lie the world tells us fell apart before our eyes. Abortion does not set anyone free. Carrying a child to birth is not a punishment or a life of suffering, no matter how difficult the situation of the pregnancy may be. We saw how these mothers, with their new children, were working hard to live and to care for the life given to them — and not one of them regretted keeping her baby. On the other hand, we saw clearly how abortion takes away joy by taking away a life.
We will continue to support mothers so they can keep being mothers to their living children. We will not accept the lie that tells them ending their child's life is their path to freedom. It is not.

| 16 | A Journey of Double Blessings
When Elsa became pregnant in university, her life changed overnight. Her partner left, her community rejected her, and she faced mistreatment at home. Standing completely alone, she looked at her newborn baby and chose to keep fighting.
She left her child in her mother’s care and went back to school. She worked during the day, studied accounting by distance, and took computer science classes at night. Her hard work paid off, she earned two degrees, reunited with her child, and made peace with her family.
Elsa later moved to Addis Ababa for better job opportunities, but new challenges followed. She struggled to find work and unexpectedly became pregnant again. Her new partner pressured her to get an abortion, leaving her scared and isolated once more.
That was when she found Palah Ethiopia.
Palah provided counselling, emotional support, and mediation. We helped Elsa and her partner talk through their problems, build mutual understanding, and share responsibility.
Today, Elsa is a proud mother of twins, living with a supportive partner and a strong community around her. Her journey shows the power of resilience, compassion, and second chances.
