Another one I've been thinking about:

Hmm.... There is something bugging about relaxing, pursuing hobbies, having a social life mnamn when you haven't had the essentials sorted out. The "work before rest" mindset basically, but for some people like me, the work never ends. Endewm it keeps adding up. I've had quite some instances when I was like "time to lock in, time to lock in" and the lock in just kept continuing and next thing I found out was someone dead inside starting at me in the mirror. But still, the bug never stops. For me, what keeps me anchored is three things: - older people I've met whom I've seen balance things, take them slow, and still thrive - my, I guess, relative clarity (from my past self) on where I'm going, on not comparing myself with others, on the difference between taking things slow and stagnation, and on the difference between hustling and running mindlessly. Still a lot of work left here, quite a lot actually, but still... - someone I met last year whose passing away made me realize, you really can have your life taken away from you at any moment. Her passing away made me confront death fully for the first time, especially considering how young she was. She also had a very full life, probably one of the fullest from people I know, and it's one of the things that serve me as inspiration. Make of this what you will?

Brain dump moment:

Now that I've spent quite some time in the space and could say I'm somewhat experienced at it, networking, the way it's normally posed, gives me the ick. I get the benefits, I've been there, but I've realized that genuine relationships are much much better than networking for network's sake. Personally, the interactions I could say have been nice and have been beneficial in the longer term (even if it's not something sustained or you know, even if it's the type you call each other up only when you need something and not really to check up on each other) have been the ones I approached from the point of genuine interest and not "oh, let me get their contact". There are some specific cases when networking for network's sake makes sense, say when you're starting out in a space and want some form of exposure or clients early on. But even then, the game is about relationships and finding people interesting, and not rotating through strangers hoping you'd find something. Debatable? Very much so. This isn't a complete thought so please, please offer up counterarguments or your perspectives, I'd really appreciate it :))

Welp, looks like I'm joining the WISER Quantum and AI program lol. Uni life tip: have a reference letter in handy. If you have completed more than one semester, there is probably one good teacher who is able to write you a good letter. And tbh, you usually end up writing it yourself and getting their approval and stamp on it. While at it, another tip, unless they know you really well and you're confident they'll write you a good letter, DON'T LET THEM WRITE IT THEMSELVES FULLY. If a reference letter isn't a formality ena if you're applying to something competitive, a template letter is no better than no letter. Make sure to customize it yourself, add specific stories and details, and make it yours. But yeah, always have one in handy. And you can also keep changing it if you want, personally, there are some teachers from my current semester I'm pretty sure will write me much better letters (themselves this time) than my previous ones, so that's something to keep in mind :))
