Spoofing ማለት አንድ ሰው ወይም የሳይበር ወንጀለኛ ራሱን እንደ ሌላ ታማኝ ሰው፣ ድርጅት፣ መሳሪያ ወይም የኔትወርክ አድራሻ በማስመሰል ሌላ ሰውን ለማታለል የሚደረግ የሳይበር ጥቃት ነው። ዋና ዓላማው ተጎጂው የሚያምነውን ማንነት በመስረቅ መረጃ ማግኘት፣ ገንዘብ ማጭበርበር ወይም ወደ ሲስተም ያለፈቃድ መግባት ሊሆን ይችላል።
የSpoofing ዓይነቶች
Email Spoofing — ኢሜይሉ ከታመነ ሰው ወይም ድርጅት እንደመጣ በማስመሰል ሰውን ማታለል።
IP Spoofing — የኮምፒውተር ወይም የኔትወርክ IP አድራሻን በማስመሰል ምንጩን ለመደበቅ መሞከር።
Website Spoofing — እውነተኛ ድረ-ገጽን የሚመስል ሐሰተኛ ድረ-ገጽ በመፍጠር ሰዎችን ማታለል።
Caller ID Spoofing — በስልክ ላይ የሚታየውን የደዋዩን ቁጥር እንደሌላ ቁጥር ማሳየት።
DNS Spoofing — የድረ-ገጽ አድራሻ ጥያቄን በማታለል ተጠቃሚውን ወደ የተሳሳተ ወይም ሐሰተኛ ድረ-ገጽ ማዘዋወር።
በአጭሩ፦ Spoofing ማለት “እኔ ሌላ ሰው/ሌላ ሲስተም ነኝ” ብሎ በማስመሰል ሰውን ማታለል ነው።
