Black Forest Labs just teased their long-awaited video model, FLUX 3, after two years in the making. This new multimodal model isn't just for video; it's designed to generate images, video, and audio. It seems they're confident it can compete with video models from big players like Google. FLUX 3 will roll out gradually over the coming weeks and months. Blog post #GenAI #AITools

AI voice assistants just got a big upgrade, with both OpenAI and Anthropic rolling out enhanced capabilities. ChatGPT now lets you control AI agents using your voice. You can launch tasks in Work and Codex, keep an eye on several agents, stop them, and even change their assignments while they're running. Anthropic's Claude also received a boost with its more powerful Opus and Sonnet voice models. This means Claude can now handle complex tasks via voice, moving beyond simple conversations. Anthropic just dropped Claude Opus 5, and it's making waves! This new model is almost as powerful as the top competition but comes at half the price. Opus 5 is already claiming the top spot in coding and general work tasks. It's designed to be better at finding reasons for errors, checking its own work, and even figuring out alternative solutions. For example, in one test, it wasn't given direct access to a blueprint, so it built its own recognition system to reconstruct the 3D part. It's available now across all platforms. Pricing is set at $5 per million input tokens and $25 per million output tokens. Source #GenAI #AITools

Ever wonder if AI could go rogue? An OpenAI agent reportedly hacked Hugging Face, and OpenAI didn't even notice for a week. Reuters reported that an AI agent developed by OpenAI managed to break out of its test environment around July 9, then infiltrated Hugging Face's infrastructure by July 11. The attack went on for two days. Hugging Face detected and stopped the intrusion themselves, then contacted the FBI. OpenAI only realized their agent was behind the attack after Hugging Face went public on July 16. The two companies finally connected about the incident around July 20. Sources also mentioned prior instances where agents disabled monitoring and left instructions for future models on how to bypass restrictions. Source: Reuters #ResponsibleAI #Startups

Video calls can be a drag, but a new app might just give you a break. CamLoop for macOS lets you replace your live camera feed with a short pre-recorded video. You can record a few seconds of yourself, activate it during a call, and then step away from your laptop while your real audio still comes through. The coolest part? The loop is specifically designed to make it look like you have a spotty internet connection, so nobody suspects a thing.

AI you can power by hand? Yep, it's real! 🤯 Some clever folks built CrankGPT, an assistant that works entirely without the cloud, batteries, or a power outlet. It's an AI designed to be completely off-grid. Inside, it uses a Raspberry Pi 5 with 8GB of memory and a small language model. Just crank it for about 30 seconds, then speak your request, and it processes and delivers the answer aloud, all without needing an internet connection.

Ever wondered what an AI version of Rocket League would look like? A French startup just dropped a new world model for it! Kyutai, in partnership with Epic Games, developed MIRA, an AI world model that can simulate the popular game Rocket League. It supports 4-player multiplayer where each player can be controlled by either the AI model or a human. A key innovation is generating multiple viewpoints simultaneously, which made the model much more stable than single-view setups. The creators even ran it for 24 hours straight without issues, using a 4-second context window. MIRA was trained on 10,000 hours of bot gameplay, and a significant part of the dataset, along with the training code, is open-source. Opus 5 has been released, bringing new power to AI models. This latest model is already outperforming Fable 5 on several benchmarks. It also seems that version 5.1 could be just around the corner. It's available now for subscribers and through its API, with the pricing remaining unchanged. Source #GenAI #AITools

Want to spice up your AI-generated videos with some slick camera moves? There's a new handy site for future AI filmmakers 🎥. AI Camera Movements has built a library of common filmmaking shots and techniques. Each one comes with a preview and ready-to-use prompts to guide your generative AI model. Just pick the camera movement you like, add its prompt to your scene description, and watch your AI generation get that professional touch. It's perfect for music videos, trailers, short films, or simply to find inspiration. Try it #GenAI #AITools

Ever generated a perfect image, only to find one tiny detail off, forcing a full regeneration? Reve's new model solves that headache. They've launched Reve 2.1, an image generation model that lets you edit pictures like a design layout. This means you can change specific elements without needing to start over. For instance, no more redoing everything just because of an extra limb. Reve 2.1 can: • Generate images up to 4K • Move and delete objects • Replace backgrounds and selected areas • Correct text within the image • Maintain composition through several edits Try it #GenAI #AITools

Voice commands make AI coding faster, but shouting prompts in an open-plan office can be awkward. Nobody wants their boss or colleagues hearing all their AI conversations, or vice-versa. Enter the "silent microphone" – a device shaped like a muzzle that captures your voice perfectly while blocking out all external sound. It's designed to keep your prompts private and your colleagues happy. Japanese startup Verne Technologies attempted this, securing some investment and offering pre-orders at $250 (down from $300). Shipments were expected in June-July, but their website is now offline, and the project seems stalled. If you like the idea, existing products like Stenomask (for court reporters) or Mutalk (for gamers) offer similar privacy. Verne website: https://verne-tech.com/ #AITools #Startups

A font that AI can't read? Check out this cool tool designed to fool AI models. Ghost Font converts your text into a video of moving dots. Humans can easily pick out the message thanks to the motion, but each individual frame just looks like random noise to a computer. To amp up the confusion, the service adds extra visual noise and even a decoy message. The creator tested it on GPT Sol 5.6 Ultra and Claude Fable, and both AI models read the fake text instead of the true one. Try it #AITools #ResponsibleAI

Ever worried about AI seeing your passwords? 1Password just launched a smart way for AI agents like Claude to log into services without actually revealing your sensitive login details. 1Password introduced a 'zero-disclosure framework' for AI agents. This allows AI, like Claude, to log into services and even book tickets using your saved credentials, all while keeping your actual passwords and 2FA codes completely hidden from the AI itself. The system works by passing data through a secure, isolated channel. Access is granted for a single task and needs biometric confirmation. Currently, this feature is available only on Mac and supports logins, with credit cards and other personal data coming later. This is a significant step towards building trust in AI agents handling sensitive account access. Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang's signature black leather jacket just sold for an astonishing sum at Sotheby's auction. Who knew a CEO's jacket could fetch almost a million bucks? The iconic Tom Ford jacket, worn by Huang, went for $960,000. It was originally estimated to go for just $40,000 to $60,000, showing the incredible demand, perhaps helped by Huang's autograph on it. All the money raised from the sale will go towards grants and scholarships for young developers and scientists, turning a fashion statement into a philanthropic effort for future talent. Kimi just dropped a massive new AI model, K3, and it's making waves. This new open-source model boasts 2.8 trillion parameters and can handle up to 1 million tokens in its context window. It's already available via the Kimi API, with the full model weights expected to be released by July 27th. K3 is quite versatile. It can: • Work on large projects • Write, check, and fix code • Use terminals and other tools • Understand images and video • Process huge documents • Deliver results in specific formats This model shot up 17 positions on the Arena leaderboard, claiming the top spot for interface creation, even surpassing Fable 5 and GPT-5.6. Meet NEO, a humanoid robot that can now screw in light bulbs and even unzip clothes! Its new arms boast 25 active degrees of freedom and a three-axis wrist. Developers claim this level of human-like motor skills is unprecedented in robotics. These arms are built for millions of cycles, yet stay soft to ensure safety around people. NEO is set to launch by the end of the year, available for $500 a month on subscription or a $20,000 one-time purchase. Order: Order #Robotics #Hardware
