Currently capable of 50 mph in under 20 kn of crosswind. This system is capable of autonomous A2B flights. It’s also possible as an ultralight to be controlled by a civilian unlicensed pilot. I had the opportunity in downtown Austin, Texas to fly this aircraft. It’s different in many interesting ways than the autonomous air-Taxi I had the honor to fly in in Guangzhou, China built by EHang. I completely controlled the aircraft. And don’t worry, production models that go faster than this one also have a built-in parachute! This aircraft is able to land and maneuver on the surface of water, including to shut off the engines and stay completely stationary and upright on water. I was very happy to have the opportunity to meet some of the leadership and to get a firsthand look at something that is not really being developed anywhere else in the United States like this. The FAA is starting to open up pilot projects for air-taxi services, but we are BEHIND in the USA!
