- Stabilise critically ill/injured patients before safe disposition (admission, referral, or discharge).
- Interpret diagnostic tests (ECG, imaging, laboratory results) and make timely clinical decisions.
- Manage mass casualty/disaster response in collaboration with hospital leadership.
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team with other healthcare professionals.
- Provide health education and counselling when possible during physical exams.
- Support and attend peri/cardiac arrest calls in the main hospital and annex.
- Maintain professionalism with patients, colleagues, and subordinates; uphold ethical standards and confidentiality.
- Complete patient clinical record documentation in a timely manner per policies and procedures.
- Coach and supervise staff; provide yearly assessment reports.
- Complete incident reports, death certification, and medico-legal documentation as required.
- Maintain proper handover documentation during shift transitions.
- Lead and implement changes to ensure resuscitation, clinical simulation, and human factors education is delivered to high standard.
- Collaborate with Anaesthesia, Medical, and Nursing teams to provide quality education to reduce serious incidents and improve emergency care safety.
- Participate in relevant hospital committees (Drug & Therapeutics, Procurement, Medical Records, Ethics, Internal Control).
- Lead and contribute to quality improvement initiatives (e.g., DNACPR, deterioration, cardiac arrests).
- Assist in review and development of policies, procedures, and protocols to meet current medical standards.
- Review resuscitation policies with Resus committee and AHA guidelines and ensure regular updates.
- Ensure resuscitation incidents are investigated and reviewed with the Quality & Risks Team.
- Determine emergency equipment requirements and advise directors/clinical managers on procurement standards.
- Participate in quality improvement/assurance activities.
- Provide patient education consultative direction for nursing, laboratory, and clinic staff.
- Operate within limits of authority in achievement of approved goals/objectives.
