The Awesome Joy of Sharing the Gospel
Often as I ministered and had to drive to some town to preach, I would get a preacher boy to go with me and drive for me. Coming back to school, I was asleep in the back seat. At one a.m. Chris woke me up and said, "I hate to wake you up but we are about out of gas, and I have been looking for a station for an hour." We were in the middle of nowhere. The gauge was below the “E” line. I said, "We are to watch and pray. Chris you watch and I will pray." Like Peter, I cried, "Lord help us find a station, in Jesus’ name, amen." Just then coming around a big curve there was a one horse service station with two pumps, no name and one little light bulb.
Chris pulled in, filled the tank and I went in to pay. As always, I graciously hand the man a Gospel tract when I paid. He blurted out, "Where in the world have you been I have been trying to get saved for three weeks. Tell me what to do." God had him so ready. Anyone could have led him to Christ. I told him how God loved him and sent His Son, the Lord Jesus, to suffer and die for his sins, paid the debt in full, rose again and was seen alive by hundreds of people." It was awesome. He said, "I never heard it like that before." He gladly prayed with me to receive the Lord Jesus as his personal Savior and God gave him assurance he was now saved.
When I asked if he could tell Chris what he had just done. He gladly consented.
Without hesitation he said, "I just got saved." Chris hugged him and we were all rejoicing when another car pulled up. He said, "Wait just a minute" and stepped over to the other car. The man in the car said, "Bill what are you doing out here." Bill said, "Oh, I don't work here. Joe just asked if I could fill in for him tonight, which is why I am here." Chris and I almost burst into tears as we realized how God had orchestrated the whole evening for just one man to get saved. God did it.
That is the awesome joy of sharing the Gospel.
We can change the world, one soul at a time.

Morning Reading
(August 2nd)
"Who worketh all things after the counsel of His own will." — Ephesians 1:11
Our belief in God's wisdom supposes and necessitates that He has a settled purpose and plan in the work of salvation. What would creation have been without His design? Is there a fish in the sea, or a fowl in the air, which was left to chance for its formation? Nay, in every bone, joint, and muscle, sinew, gland, and blood-vessel, you mark the presence of a God working everything according to the design of infinite wisdom. And shall God be present in creation, ruling over all, and not in grace? Shall the new creation have the fickle genius of free will to preside over it when divine counsel rules the old creation? Look at Providence! Who knoweth not that not a sparrow falleth to the ground without your Father? Even the hairs of your head are all numbered. God weighs the mountains of our grief in scales, and the hills of our tribulation in balances. And shall there be a God in providence and not in grace? Shall the shell be ordained by wisdom and the kernel be left to blind chance. No; He knows the end from the beginning. He sees in its appointed place, not merely the corner-stone which He has laid in fair colours, in the blood of His dear Son, but He beholds in their ordained position each of the chosen stones taken out of the quarry of nature, and polished by His grace; He sees the whole from corner to cornice, from base to roof, from foundation to pinnacle. He hath in His mind a clear knowledge of every stone which shall be laid in its prepared space, and how vast the edifice shall be, and when the top-stone shall be brought forth with shoutings of "Grace! Grace! unto it." At the last it shall be clearly seen that in every chosen vessel of mercy, Jehovah did as He willed with His own; and that in every part of the work of grace He accomplished His purpose, and glorified His own name.
God, I lift my family and friends to You. Thank You for the people You've lovingly placed in my life. Today, I entrust each of them into Your hands. Watch over them, protect them, and surround them with Your unfailing love. Give them wisdom when they need direction, peace when they feel overwhelmed, strength when they grow weary, and hope when life feels uncertain. Draw them closer to You and remind them that they are never alone. Bless their homes, their work, their health, and their relationships. Open doors that align with Your will, close those that would lead them away from You, and fill their hearts with the confidence that You are always faithful. May Your grace go before them, Your presence walk beside them, and Your peace guard their hearts today and always. 🙏 ❤️
Walking in Integrity
“He who walks with integrity walks securely, But he who perverts his ways will become known.” (Proverbs 10:9)
An Uber driver named Esbon Kamau picked up a sixteen-year-old rider who was on his way to purchase a motorcycle—a gift from his father. After Kamau dropped the passenger off, he noticed the teen had left a bag in the back seat. There was $8,000 inside—the cash needed for the purchase of the motorcycle. Kamau quickly contacted Uber to try and locate the passenger. Soon Kamau delivered the cash back to the grateful, relieved young man. “Do the right thing at the right time,” Kamau said, “and don’t let selfishness overpower [you].”
Kamau displayed integrity. He resisted making a fast buck or taking advantage of someone’s mistake. Instead, he chose to simply do the right thing. “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely,” Proverbs says (10:9). When we practice integrity, we never have to worry about remembering what we said to whom, because truth is our only concern. When we practice integrity, we don’t have to fear for our reputation or that our schemes will catch up with us (v. 23). We don’t have to be concerned about being a person whose “crooked paths will be found out” (v. 9). We simply live true—displaying wisdom (v. 13) that comes from God. We’re secure and free in Him.
We face numerous temptations to lie or manipulate in life, but God calls us to walk with Him. And as we do, we can lead “blameless” (v. 29) lives of integrity.

Reflect & Pray;
When has your integrity been challenged? How have you experienced others’ integrity?
Dear God, I want to live with integrity. Please help me be blameless in You.
Scriptural Insight;
In Proverbs, Solomon offers basic wisdom for life and often uses a Hebrew poetic device called parallelism, where two or more lines of poetry correspond with one another. Parallelism and other poetic devices are normal features of Hebrew poetry, which doesn’t operate with rhyme and meter like Western poetry.
In synonymous parallelism, the idea in the first half of the verse is repeated in the second half but with different wording: “My son, do not despise the Lord’s discipline, and do not resent his rebuke” (3:11). Proverbs 10:9 is an example of antithetical parallelism, where two statements are contrasted with opposite language: “Whoever walks in integrity walks securely, but whoever takes crooked paths will be found out.” Solomon exposes the folly of ignoring God’s wisdom and shows the consequences of that folly. Today, God will help us live by His wisdom and be marked as people of character who walk in integrity.

The Gospel of Jesus Christ;
“Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you--unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,” - 1 Corinthians 15:1-4
“”Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: "May they prosper who love you. Peace be within your walls, Prosperity within your palaces." For the sake of my brethren and companions, I will now say, "Peace be within you." Because of the house of the LORD our God I will seek your good””. - Psalm 122:6-9
Bless Israel in ALL Things;
“I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." - Genesis 12:3
