❤️ July 8 is celebrated in Russia as the Day of Family, Love and Fidelity The date was not chosen by chance. On this day, the Russian Orthodox Church commemorates Saints Peter and Fevronia of Murom, revered in Russia as patrons of marriage, family harmony and faithful love. Their story, preserved in “The Tale of Peter and Fevronia”, one of the most famous works of Old Russian literature, has inspired generations. According to tradition, Prince Peter of Murom was struck by a grave illness after defeating a serpent. He was healed by Fevronia, a wise village maiden, who agreed to help him after he promised to marry her. At first, the prince failed to keep his word — but when the illness returned, he repented, fulfilled his promise, and the two were united in marriage. Their love was soon tested. When Peter was called to rule Murom, the local nobility refused to accept Fevronia because of her humble origin and demanded that the prince choose between power and his wife. Peter chose Fevronia without hesitation and left the city with her. Later, when unrest broke out in Murom, the people asked the couple to return and they ruled wisely and justly. In old age, Peter and Fevronia took monastic vows and prayed to depart this life on the same day. Their wish was granted. Even after death, when their bodies were placed in separate churches, they were miraculously found together again. ☦️Today, the relics of Saints Peter and Fevronia rest in the Holy Trinity Monastery in Murom. Believers from across Russia come there to pray for family happiness, love, fidelity and peace at home. More

#KievRegimeCrimes ⚡️ Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik: 💬 As a result of the Kiev regime’s escalating terrorist attacks on Russian territory over the past week, more than 300 civilians were affected, including 38 people who lost their lives. The Kiev regime’s militants carried out a series of deliberate barbaric attacks aimed at killing and maiming as many civilians as possible, and at creating unbearable living conditions for the civilian population. Kiev’s Nazis hunted civilian vehicles on intercity roads, struck residential areas, and targeted social and energy infrastructure. They carried out a barbaric strike on a city market in Tokmak, Zaporozhye Region, attacked a second passenger bus carrying tourists from Belarus in Bryansk Region, and killed a six-month-old baby in a strike on a residential building in the Moscow Region. On June 29 – July 5, Ukrainian Nazi shelling and attacks resulted in 308 civilian casualties: 270 people were wounded, including 8 children, while 38 people were killed, including 1 child. Over the past seven days, Ukrainian militants fired at least 4,917 munitions at civilian targets on Russian territory.

📰 Article by Dmitry Ryakhovsky, Senior Adviser of the Department for Multilateral Human Rights Cooperation of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, published on the Arctic.ru information portal – Indigenous Peoples in the International Arena: Who Belongs to the Group and How to Protect Their Rights. Read in full ✍️ The principal reason for disputes over the status of indigenous peoples lies in different national approaches. Each state has its own criteria for determining which peoples should be regarded as indigenous. In many Asian countries e.g. researchers emphasize centuries of migration and population mixing. As a result, the traditional Western understanding of indigenous peoples is often considered inapplicable, since it is not always possible to determine with certainty which ethnic group originally inhabited the territory in question. The Indian subcontinent is frequently cited as an example, where centuries of migration have made it virtually impossible to identify the first ethnic communities to settle the region. In Africa, the concept of indigenous peoples is often applied to communities whose traditional way of life is under threat. These include, for example, the San (Bushmen) of the Kalahari Desert, the Mbuti (Pygmies) of the tropical forests of Central Africa, and the Maasai nomadic cattle herders. There is likewise no uniform approach across Latin America. In Peru, the term “community” is used instead of “indigenous people”. Ecuador recognizes “Indian nationalities”, each of which encompasses several related peoples, whereas Uruguay officially denies the existence of indigenous peoples altogether. ☝️It can therefore be concluded that the concept of indigenous peoples varies across countries, reflecting each state’s historical experience and national specifics. *** At the international level, there is likewise no universally accepted definition of indigenous peoples, despite repeated attempts to develop one. As Erica-Irene Daes, Chairperson of the UN Working Group on Indigenous Populations of the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights, observed, it is extremely difficult to come up with a definition that is both accurate and universally applicable across all regions of the world. In her view, definitions that are too broad become vague, while those that are too narrow exclude many communities that are equally in need of protection. Instead of relying on a rigid definition, international practice generally takes into account a number of identifying characteristics such as historical ties to a particular territory, cultural distinctiveness, continuity across generations, the preservation of a traditional way of life, as well as self-identification. Nevertheless, none of these characteristics can be regarded as decisive in itself, and international organizations have largely avoided adopting rigid definitions. Despite the absence of a common understanding, the international community has continued its efforts to establish mechanisms for protecting the rights of indigenous peoples. The UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples adopted in 2007 was one of the most significant documents in this regard. Importantly, the Declaration does not provide a universal definition of indigenous peoples. Instead, it sets out a list of rights that such communities should enjoy, including the rights to preserve their cultural identity, to participate in decision-making on matters affecting their interests, and rights relating to lands, territories and natural resources. ☝️ Thus, international law places greater emphasis on creating mechanisms to protect the rights of communities that meet the characteristics of indigenous peoples, rather than on finding a single universal definition. *** In conclusion, the concept of “indigenous peoples” remains one of the most complex categories in contemporary international law. The modern international approach focuses on protecting the rights of individuals and communities that preserve their identity.

📰 Article by the Aide to the President of Russia and Chairman of the Russian Military Historical Society Vladimir Medinsky marking the 80th anniversary since the city of Königsberg was renamed to #Kaliningrad (July 6, 2026) ‘The Russian City of Kaliningrad’ Read the full ✍️ The Kaliningrad Region is part of former East Prussia that became part of the USSR following the Second World War, a provision legally enshrined at the Potsdam Conference of the victorious powers in 1945. This was a decision paid for many times over in the blood of Soviet soldiers, and one that has never, anywhere in the world, been seriously questioned. *** The city was named after Mikhail Kalinin, who died on June 3, 1946. For many years, he was a member the USSR's top leadership, beloved by the people, even having earned the nickname the "All-Union Elder" for his consideration and caring. The city's old German name, Königsberg, was changed deliberately in 1946. <...> Following World War II, dozens of former German cities were renamed: Danzig and Breslau became Gdansk and Wroclaw in Poland; Karlsbad and Reichenberg became Karlovy Vary and Liberec in the Czech Republic; Memel became Klaipeda in Lithuania, and this list is far from complete. This year, we are celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Kaliningrad Region, although this territory became part of the USSR in 1945. For a whole year, its destiny hung in limbo, so to say. <...> During the Great Patriotic War, Königsberg was virtually razed to the ground. After analysing the situation, the leadership of the Lithuanian SSR decided that this was not their problem, and that they wanted nothing to do with it. During the first post-war five-year economic plans, the RSFSR remitted approximately 50% of its revenues to the all-Union budget, while the Baltic republics gave nothing at all, and received substantial subsidies from the all-Union centre besides, just as Poland and Finland once did within the Russian Empire. Such are the strange distinguishing features of both imperial and Soviet-era "colonialism." The issue of Memel, where a strategically important port is located, was raised later once again. When the first post-war five-year plan had passed, the leadership of the Lithuanian SSR expressed a willingness to annex the city. Thus, in 1950, Memel became Lithuanian Klaipeda. Another crime of the Stalin-era Soviet Union against the people of Lithuania. It is worth noting the processes that began unfolding here after the collapse of the USSR: processes that could be described as an unwitting, yet "creeping toponymic Germanisation." Königsberg was part of the German state unified by Bismarck for less than 75 years. It has been part of Russia for more than 80 years now, not to mention the period when East Prussia was part of the Russian Empire under Elizabeth Petrovna, following the devastating defeat of Frederick II. Western countries stand ready to play along with these creeping processes of Germanisation in Kaliningrad. ❓ Where does this strange "genuflection before the West" сome from? <...> Remember "Euro-renovations," "Euro-protocols," and "European quality"? It is high time for all of us to ponder this question. In addition to correcting heraldry and toponymy, greater attention should be paid to restoring or renovating museum exhibitions dedicated to the capture of German Königsberg by our forces. The local residents, 90% of whom are descendants of the settlers who rebuilt this beautiful part of our Baltic homeland, can suggest many more useful things. 🇷🇺 Kaliningrad is our city, a Russian city. Through and through. And this land is ours. And both will remain forever so.

📄 On newly declassified FSB archival documents regarding the Volhynia Massacre ❗️ Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation (FSB) has released new archival materials shedding light on the crimes committed by Ukrainian nationalist formations during the #VolhyniaMassacre, as well as on the 1945 operation by Soviet state security officers against Dmitry Klyachkivsky (known by the pseudonyms Klym Savur, Okhrim), former commander of the so-called Ukrainian Insurgent Army (UPA)* and one of the organisers of the massacre. According to the documents, on August 4, 1943, Pavel Sudoplatov, Head of the 4th Directorate of the NKGB of the USSR, sent a special report to Pyotr Fedotov, Head of the 2nd Counterintelligence Directorate of the NKGB. The report stated that on July 18, 1943, a Soviet agent witnessed the mass extermination of the Polish population in Vladimir-Volynsky. The report noted that during church services, Bandera followers killed 11 Catholic priests and up to 2,000 Poles in the streets of the city. Klyachkivsky (Photo 2) commanded the UPA from May 1943 to January 1944. In other words, he led Ukrainian nationalist armed formations at the height of the Volhynia Massacre. The materials also confirm the collaboration of Ukrainian nationalists with Nazi Germany and point to Klyachkivsky’s role in organising mass violence in Volhynia and Polesie, where the core of the Bandera movement took shape. In early 1945, Klyachkivsky was killed during an operation by Soviet state security officers near the village of Susk while attempting to flee with his accomplices. *Banned in the Russian Federation #NoStatuteOfLimitations #Poland

President of the Russian Federation, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin visited an auxiliary command post of the Joint+3
President of the Russian Federation, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Vladimir Putin visited an auxiliary command post of the Joint Force, where he chaired a meeting with the General Staff leadership and the commanders of the groups of forces (July 3, 2026) Read the remarks in full 💬 Vladimir Putin: Сomrades, Today we are holding a regular working meeting to assess the current situation in the special military operation zone, as well as to review and evaluate the latest combat results. <...> The liberation of the Lugansk People’s Republic has recently been completed in full. Meanwhile, operations to eliminate formations of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Donetsk People’s Republic, as well as in the Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, are underway. The establishment of a security zone in the border areas of the Kharkov, Sumy, and Dnepropetrovsk regions of Ukraine is also progressing according to plan. 👉 Enemy troops are attempting to maintain their positions, but under the pressure of our forces they are sustaining heavy losses and are being forced to withdraw. Since the beginning of this year, Russian forces have liberated 133 settlements and established control over more than 3'000 square kilometres of our territory in #Donbass and #Novorossiya. <...> I would like to note the positive momentum in the actions of our forces, as well as the increasing pace of the advance by units and formations of the Russian Armed Forces along the entire front line. I can see this on a daily basis, both in your reports and in those submitted by other commanders. In recent months, the security zone along our border with Ukraine has also expanded considerably. Forces of the East and Dnepr groups of forces are advancing successfully in the Zaporozhye Region, the liberation of the Donetsk People’s Republic is continuing, and, as you have reported, the South and Centre groups of forces are continuing their westward advance while inflicting defeats on the enemy. In June, Ukrainian Armed Forces units were expelled from six settlements, including the city of Konstantinovka, which has been brought back under Russian control. <...> *** I would like to emphasise that the capture of Konstantinovka represents only the first, but a highly significant, step toward defeating the Ukrainian Armed Forces units currently holding what you referred to as the Slavyansk–Kramatorsk–Konstantinovka fortified area. There, the enemy has built a deep, layered system of defensive fortifications, effectively turning the cities of Slavyansk, Kramatorsk, Druzhkovka, and Konstantinovka into a single defensive stronghold. With Konstantinovka now under our control, I believe it is no longer appropriate to refer to the Slavyansk–Kramatorsk– Konstantinovka line. <...> *** The more strikes the enemy attempts against our civilian infrastructure — and, of course, our foremost priority is to do everything necessary to protect these facilities and the civilian population <...> ❗️ The Russian Armed Forces continue to firmly maintain the strategic initiative in the special military operation zone, and the liberation of Konstantinovka is of major strategic significance. <...> The city is a key transportation hub and a major industrial centre in Donbass. <...> The capture of Konstantinovka by the South group of forces opens a direct route for further advances toward Kramatorsk and Slavyansk, as well as other fortified areas in Donbass. It is undoubtedly a key step toward the liberation of the entire Donetsk People’s Republic. ☝️ A decisive role in these achievements undoubtedly belongs to our soldiers and officers, who, in the course of combat operations, continue to demonstrate the finest qualities of the Russian warrior — selfless devotion and love for the Motherland. ❗️On 4 July 2026 the Russian Ministry of Defence issued a statement proposing a humanitarian action to hand over the bodies of dead Ukrainian soldiers stationed in the city of Konstantinovka, after the Russian troops finally took control of this settlement and the ceasefire of hostilities there. ▪️During the consideration of this issue by the special services, the Ukrainian side rejected this proposal. ▫️Thus, the Kiev regime has done absolutely nothing to ensure that the bodies of the dead Ukrainian servicemen are properly buried by their relatives. The Ukrainian authorities have once again demonstrated their attitude towards the dead servicemen as disposable materiel, which is mainly sent to the front line as a result of forced mobilisation. 🔹 Russian Defence Ministry

⚡️ Statement by Aide to the President of Russia Yury Ushakov following a telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Do
⚡️ Statement by Aide to the President of Russia Yury Ushakov following a telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump (July 4, 2026) Read in full 💬 Yury Ushakov: On July 4, the US celebrates its national holiday: 250 years since independence. On the eve of this date, President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent a congratulatory message to US President Donald Trump, expressing confidence that establishing constructive, equal and mutually beneficial ties meets the interests not only of our peoples, but also of the entire international community. The conversation, already the fourth this year, was naturally not only protocol-related, but also businesslike and highly constructive. It allowed for a frank discussion of current issues on the bilateral and international agenda. The conversation lasted one hour and 25 minutes. Naturally, the Presidents touched upon the Ukrainian settlement, including in light of Donald Trump’s upcoming participation in the NATO summit in Turkey on July 7-8. The US President once again confirmed his readiness to facilitate the earliest possible cessation of hostilities and the search for peaceful solutions to overcome the crisis. His Special Envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner will continue their mediation efforts and will be ready to visit Moscow at a convenient time. The Russian Side once again emphasised its preference for a political and diplomatic settlement of the conflict, provided Russia’s well-known principled approaches are duly taken into account. However, Kiev and its European handlers are betting on prolonging and even escalating the conflict, as well as on terrorism against civilians. Meanwhile, the European “party of war” proceeds from a false perception of the overall situation and the state of affairs on the line of contact. Our President described the real situation on the battlefield, where the Russian Armed Forces are steadily advancing, liberating one settlement after another. Speaking about bilateral relations, the Presidents underscored the importance of continuing contacts, including on military-political and, of course, economic issues. Here, enormous prospects for mutually beneficial cooperation between our countries are taking shape. To this end, Donald Trump stressed, the Ukrainian conflict should be brought to an end as soon as possible. The Leaders agreed to remain in contact and hold another telephone conversation in the near future. 🤝 Our President recalled that Donald Trump’s standing invitation to visit Russia remains in force. It is worth mentioning that the Russian Side initiated the previous telephone contact, on June 14, the day of Donald Trump’s 80th birthday. This time, it was our American partners who proposed holding the conversation specifically on the day marking the 250th anniversary of US independence. And that says a great deal. 🇷🇺🇺🇸 #RussiaUS

📅 On July 5, 1802, Pavel Nakhimov, outstanding Russian naval commander, admiral, participant in the heroic defense of Sevastopol during the Crimean War of 1853–1856, was born. The Russian Black Sea Fleet under Nakhimov’s command crushed the Ottoman navy in a major battle in the Sinop Bay on November 18, 1853. The Russian fleet destroyed 15 enemy ships. Ottoman admiral Osman Pasha was taken prisoner. With this grand victory, Nakhimov magnified the glory of the Russian navy and immortalised his name in the history of the Motherland. In his message to the Admiral, Emperor Nicholas I paid tribute to Nakhimov's personal contribution to the defeat of the Porte in the Black Sea: 🪶 “By destroying the Turkish squadron at Sinop, you decorated the annals of the Russian fleet with a new victory that will remain in naval history forever.” According to the memoirs of officers of the Black Sea Fleet who served with Nakhimov, the legendary admiral was gifted with many talents, inspired his subordinates, instilled in them a love of service and a sense of duty to the Motherland. Along with his high moral qualities and caring attitude to his fellow servicemen, Nakhimov gained huge popularity and authority in the navy. Respect for him — a wise mentor and commander — was infinite. As a captain 2nd rank, in 1834-1845 Pavel Nakhimov already commanded the 84-gun battleship 'Silistria', one of the largest warships of the Black Sea Fleet. His commander, Vice Admiral Mikhail Lazarev, reported to St Petersburg in a review of Nakhimov's service: “He is a model for all ship commanders here.” During the siege of Sevastopol (1854-1855), he commanded the forces of the southern part of the city. Literally from the first days of the war, Nakhimov became one of the leaders of the city’s defense. The admiral personally inspected the defensive lines every day, took part in battles, inspiring soldiers and officers by his example. 🕯 On July 10, 1855, during a tour of the advanced fortifications in Sevastopol, Admiral Nakhimov was mortally wounded on Malakhov Kurgan which saw the most brutal fighting with the enemy. A bullet hit the Admiral — Pavel Nakhimov died two days later at the age of 54. The naval commander was buried in the Admiral Sepulchre of the Vladimir Cathedral in Sevastopol. 🎖 In memory of Pavel Nakhimov and his grand victory in the Battle of Sinop, Russia annually celebrates the #DayOfMilitaryGlory on December 1 — “Victory Day of the Russian squadron under the command of Pavel Nakhimov over the Turkish squadron at Cape Sinop.” #OurHeroes #WeAreProud

✉️ President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin congratulated President of the United States of America Donald Trump on the 250th Anniversary of the independence of the United States of America (July 4, 2026) ✍️ The message reads, in part: “The signing of the United States Declaration of Independence not only heralded the birth of your nation but also constituted a landmark event in world history. It was then that Russia extended its unequivocal support to the North American colonists in their struggle for freedom from British rule. Over the course of two and a half centuries, many significant pages have been written in the history of relations between our nations. #WeFoughtAsAllies in two world wars, together liberating humanity from the horrors of Nazism, and subsequently played a pivotal role in shaping the foundations of the contemporary world order. Today, Russia and the United States as the world’s two largest nuclear powers bear a special responsibility for maintaining international security and stability. I am confident that the establishment of constructive, equitable and mutually beneficial relations between Moscow and Washington serves the interests not only of our peoples but also of the entire international community. 💬 Russia's High Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova: On July 2, I held a meeting with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (#ICRC) Mirjana Spoljaric. We discussed practical cooperation on the most pressing humanitarian issues: the search for missing persons, visits to POWs, family reunification, and the delivery of parcels and letters. We continue to receive tens of thousands of appeals from people waiting for news about their loved ones. In 2026 alone, we have received more than 29,000 such appeals. 🤝 Thanks to cooperation with the ICRC, around 1,700 people have already been found, and more than 1,000 of them have returned home. In June, eight families were reunited; another five residents of the Kursk Region returned home. Overall, we have helped bring back 170 people. It is also important that our joint assistance delivery efforts are working: more than 5,000 parcels and over 4,000 letters have reached POWs. We agreed to continue reducing delivery times and expanding humanitarian opportunities. ❗️ Special attention was, of course, paid to Starobelsk. We are submitting materials on this tragedy to international bodies. All the facts must receive an objective assessment.

✉️ Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s greetings on the occasion of the 250th Anniversary of United States independence
✉️ Russia's Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov’s greetings on the occasion of the 250th Anniversary of United States independence (July 4, 2026) ✍️ This remarkable anniversary — the 250th Anniversary of United States independence — is being celebrated at a highly consequential moment for the world order. Despite the strenuous resistance of Western countries, a more just and balanced multipolar model of international development is asserting itself to replace the era of their global hegemony. Over the past two and a half centuries, the United States has traversed a path at an accelerated pace that has taken other nations many hundreds of years. This path has been marked by both profound creative impetus and expansion, as well as domestic upheavals. At critical moments in United States history — during the struggle for independence from the British Crown and throughout the course of the Civil War — Russia consistently rendered support for the establishment and preservation of American statehood. The alliance between our nations during #WW2 continues to serve as a testament to our shared resolve to oppose any manifestations of fascism, Nazism, and the ideology of national exceptionalism. 🇺🇳 #UNCharterIsOurRules: Russia remains steadfast in its commitment to the principles of the #UNCharter, which our country, together with the United States and other victorious powers, placed at the foundation of the post-war system of international relations — a system that, to this day, stands as a legal and moral touchstone for humanity. I am confident that, by fostering candid dialogue grounded in equality, mutual respect, and non-interference in internal affairs, and by prioritising the mutual consideration of fundamental national interests, Russia and the United States are well placed to achieve substantive results and jointly identify effective solutions to the most complex global and regional challenges. I extend my congratulations to the American people. I wish them peace and prosperity, in the hope that the precepts of the United States Declaration of Independence enshrining the right of every individual to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness may be fully realised.

⚡️ Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova's statement on the strike on a market in Tokmak carried out by Ukrain
⚡️ Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova's statement on the strike on a market in Tokmak carried out by Ukrainian militants (July 3, 2026) 💬 On July 3, Ukrainian neo-Nazis carried out a deliberate UAV strike on a busy market in Tokmak, Zaporozhye Region. According to preliminary data, the attack resulted in the deaths of five people and injuries of varying severity to 18 others. But that was not enough for Ukrainian militants. They continued attacking those who rushed to help the victims, obstructing the evacuation of people to medical facilities and taking out on them their powerless rage over their own military failures. An operational headquarters has been set up at the site of the tragedy. According to the Zaporozhye Region Health Ministry, 14 people have been taken to Tokmak Hospital and four others, with more serious injuries, to Melitopol Hospital. ❗️ The Investigative Committee of Russia has opened a criminal case into the terrorist attack. All those involved in committing it will be identified and brought to justice. We strongly condemn this vile war crime committed by Zelensky’s Nazi regime, which, with the tacit approval of its Western handlers, has unleashed a gruesome war against defenceless women, elderly people and children. ▪️ We express our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed and wish all the injured a speedy recovery. We call on all responsible governments, relevant international bodies and independent media outlets to give an honest assessment of this barbaric attack by the Ukrainian armed forces against civilians. Ignoring this attack, like all other inhuman atrocities committed by Kiev, would amount to tacit consent to its actions and give it carte blanche to continue. #KievRegimeCrimes

⚡️ On July 3, Ukrainian militants launched a drone attack on a city market in Tokmak, Zaporozhye Region, in broad daylight. According to preliminary reports, five civilians were killed and 18 others were wounded. The Main Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case into the attack under Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code – terrorist act. 💬 Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Rodion Miroshnik: A series of Ukrainian drone strikes hit a crowded place in broad daylight. Local authorities said the injured were promptly taken by ambulance crews to Tokmak Central District Hospital, where they are receiving the necessary medical care. The attack is ongoing. This attack bears all the hallmarks of a terrorist act carried out by Ukrainian armed groups. The killing and attempted killing of civilians constitute a grave war crime, for which the Kiev regime bears full responsibility. How are they any different from the Nazis of World War II, who bombed crowded areas of cities? 💬 Russia's High Commissioner for Human Rights Yana Lantratova: This inhuman attack on civilians demonstrates the complete absence of any moral principles among those behind this atrocity. The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation is keeping these cases under close review. I remain in constant contact with regional Human Rights Commissioners on matters related to providing assistance to people, while regional human rights representatives are present at the sites of the tragedies. Such criminal strikes against civilians are unacceptable. Every human tragedy requires a comprehensive investigation and legal assessment. #KievRegimeCrimes

🎙 Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova regarding the EU Court of Justice judgment on the legality of crim
🎙 Comment by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova regarding the EU Court of Justice judgment on the legality of criminal prosecutions for the dissemination of RT materials (July 2, 2026) 💬 Maria Zakharova: On July 2, the EU Court of Justice handed down a judgment concerning the lawfulness of criminal prosecutions within European Union member states against individuals who make materials from media outlets banned within the EU territory available in the public domain via their internet resources – effectively treating such individuals on a par with telecommunications operators. In practical terms, this judgment applies primarily to those distributing content from RT and other Russian media outlets against whom Brussels has imposed so-called sanctions. Moreover, as indicated in the press release issued by the Court, this approach applies irrespective of whether materials from the “banned” media are retransmitted for the purpose of deriving commercial gain or otherwise. The impetus for this judgment arose from criminal proceedings initiated in Germany against three German nationals, accused of repeatedly reposting video materials from the RT DE channel on their publicly accessible website. ❗️ Notably, it was not the content of the specific publications that was deemed unlawful, but solely their origin. In order to lend an appearance of legitimacy to this process – a process that utterly fails to conform to the principles of the rule of law – the German authorities sought an opinion of the highest echelons of the European Union’s judicial system, the Court of Justice of the European Union, and ultimately secured its endorsement for the continuation and expansion of the methods of such show-trials. The precedent thus established grants carte blanche to the authorities of any member state within the bloc to carry out mass repression against ordinary residents who hold their own view of world events – a view that diverges from the narrative imposed from above. ☝️ We characterise this judgment, along with the practices of persecuting dissenters that it legitimises, as a gross violation by the EU and its member states of their international obligations in the sphere of the protection and promotion of fundamental human rights, including the right to unhindered access to information and freedom of expression. This judgment stands as yet another unmistakable example of the European Union’s mockery of justice designed to whitewash the bloc’s degeneration into a space characterised by the most severe political censorship, legal arbitrariness, and hypocrisy. At its core lies the intent to instil a reflexive fear among citizens of the European Union’s member states towards any sources of information “not authorised” by Brussels, to seal off societies within information “bubbles” impervious to inconvenient truths, and to deprive them of the ability to form an independent opinion regarding events and processes of significance to their lives. This latest step taken by the EU towards totalitarian censorship, the exacerbation of antagonism, and the dismantling of the democratic foundations of society must receive a proper assessment from the relevant multilateral institutions. Otherwise, silence on their part would be difficult to interpret as anything other than solidarity with the actions of the European bureaucracy, and acquiescence in the further perpetuation of this pernicious practice.

💬 Russian Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Maria Lvova-Belova: On July 2, I held a meeting with President of the International Committee of the Red Cross (#ICRC) Mirjana Spoljaric. Almost two years have passed since our last meeting. Throughout this time, we have continued our joint work in an open and systematic manner. The main topic was the reunification of children with their families living in Russia, Ukraine and third countries, which we are facilitating on instructions from President Vladimir Putin. Each case is considered individually, taking into account the circumstances, legal grounds, the child’s opinion and, of course, their best interests. I thanked the ICRC for its assistance in transferring children to their relatives, organising transportation, a humanitarian corridor and accommodation for parents. ☝️ Since the start of the special military operation, with our assistance, 30 children from 22 families have returned to their loved ones in Russia. Another 141 children from 114 families have been reunited with their relatives in Ukraine and third countries. In the overwhelming majority of cases, this was done with the ICRC’s direct involvement. Documents have already been prepared to reunite four children with their loved ones in Ukraine. However, regular shelling and strikes by the Ukrainian militants currently make it impossible to arrange their departure. I also noted cases where parents living in Russia are searching for their children in EU countries, and asked the ICRC to help reunite these families. ❗️ Special attention during the meeting was given to Ukraine’s crimes against Russian children: the deaths and injuries of minors, strikes on civilian infrastructure, and attempts to involve teenagers in terrorist and sabotage activities. Such issues require constant dialogue, trust and meticulous joint work. We hope to continue constructive cooperation in the interests of children and families.
