Work, Trade, and Spiritual Responsibility For a believer, work is more than a means of earning money. It is an expression of responsibility, dignity, and purposeful living. How a person manages their time, profession, and resources reveals much about their priorities and character. Islamic teachings strongly encourage believers to develop a profession and earn their livelihood lawfully. Prolonged dependence on others can weaken a person’s dignity and, in difficult circumstances, expose them to temptation and unlawful means of income. Earning through honest work therefore becomes a form of self-respect and spiritual discipline. Employment provides stability, but trade and self-employment can cultivate initiative, creativity, problem-solving, and independence. Imam Ali (peace be upon him) encouraged trade as a means of freeing oneself from dependence upon others and creating the ability to benefit society. The spiritual value of work, however, depends upon intention. The believer works diligently while recognizing that Allah is the ultimate Provider. Honest effort combined with reliance upon Him transforms an ordinary profession into an act of worship. Nor should intizar—awaiting the reappearance of Imam al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance)—become an excuse for abandoning productive life. Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) encouraged believers to work, earn, and use their resources to support their families and those in need. Seek halal provision, therefore, and ask Allah to make you independent through His lawful blessings rather than through what He has forbidden.

Fragrance and the Spiritual Life of the Believer In Islamic tradition, fragrance is far more than a matter of personal elegance. Tayyib—a pleasant scent—is associated with purity, dignity, worship, and the refined character of the believer. Perfuming oneself is among the beautiful practices associated with the way of the prophets and the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them). Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him and his family) was renowned for his love of perfume, and Islamic teachings particularly encourage believers to perfume themselves before prayer and in gatherings of worship. A pleasant fragrance can bring joy to the heart, elevate one’s sense of dignity, and create an atmosphere of serenity around acts of devotion. Perfume is also among the gifts that should be readily accepted, following the example of the Prophet, who valued fragrance and encouraged its use. Islam, however, places this practice within the boundaries of modesty: A woman is strongly cautioned against wearing fragrance when leaving her home in a manner intended to attract attention or provoke desire. Beauty and adornment are not condemned; rather, they are guided by dignity, intention, and moral responsibility. Yet the deepest form of tayyib is not the fragrance worn upon the body, but the fragrance of the soul. A believer may perfume the body with musk and rose, but the greater achievement is to perfume the heart with sincerity, patience, mercy, chastity, humility, and generosity—and to cleanse it of envy, arrogance, hatred, and every moral corruption. The finest fragrance is therefore the fragrance of virtue: a character whose beauty is beloved by Allah and welcomed by His angels.

And they are indeed upon the continuous, serious, sincere, true, pure call for unity based upon it—possessing the conditions for success—through learning Islam, teaching it, applying it, and prioritizing it over every proposition, every interest, and every affiliation. But the vast space of the ruling regimes in the Ummah—with rare exceptions—due to their poor understanding of Islam, sometimes through shortcoming and deficiency, and due to the desire for this world and the seat of tyrannical rule, are not on this path. They have entered into its war, whether openly or covertly. Let these regimes be aware that this state of theirs—diverging from the atmosphere of awakening, renaissance, resistance, and the love of returning to Islam—is not a path to survival for them, but rather a path to dissolution, decline, and final disappearance. And that allying with the enemies of Islam is not only unable to save them, but will eliminate them. The Islamic Republic—by a beautiful divine grace—was the forerunner in raising the banner of Islam in this age, its revolution, and its government, and in calling for Islamic unity upon its foundation. Its role continues in carrying this message to the Ummah with all seriousness and all the capabilities it possesses. May Allah grant it success on this path, facilitate its means, take the hand of the entire Islamic Resistance to achieve this goal, and guide the rest of the ruling regimes in the Ummah and all its peoples to the straight path. “Indeed, Allah has no need of the creatures.” (Quran 29:6) All praise be to Allah, Lord of the worlds. When Not Every Misfortune Is the Evil Eye Many people assume that whenever they face a painful accident, illness, financial difficulty, or setback in life, the immediate cause must be the evil eye or envy. Yet this belief calls for greater awareness. Attributing every hardship to envy can trap a person in constant fear and suspicion, while making them forget that life itself is a test. To understand the matter correctly, we must distinguish envy (hasad) from admiration (ghibtah). Envy means wishing that another person’s blessing would disappear. By contrast, ghibtah is wishing to receive a similar blessing without wishing its removal from another. Imam al-Sadiq (peace be upon him) said: “The believer admires, but does not envy.” How, then, can we protect our blessings? One form of wisdom is discretion. Today, people openly share intimate details of their lives—new purchases, travels, financial gains, and the birth of a child—with a wide audience. Prophet Mohammad (peace be upon him) said: “Seek help in fulfilling your needs through discretion, for every possessor of a blessing is envied.” This does not mean living suspiciously. Rather, it means protecting one’s privacy wisely. Spiritual protection also includes supplication, reciting Ayat al-Kursi and the two Mu‘awwidhat, and giving charity. Above all, do not let the thought “I am envied” control your life. Delayed marriage, financial hardship, or failure may simply reflect circumstances, choices, or areas that require correction—not necessarily the evil eye.

Sayyed Musa al-Sadr: A Vision of Social Awakening, Resistance and Lebanese-Iranian Bonds On the anniversary of the disappearance of Imam Sayyed Musa al-Sadr on 31 August 1978, Lebanon remembers a leader who transformed the social and political landscape of its Shiite community while placing its struggle firmly within the wider national project. Arriving in Lebanon in 1959, Sayyed Musa al-Sadr confronted poverty, political marginalisation and the systematic neglect of the Shiite-populated regions. He established institutions, mobilised the deprived and founded frameworks for political and social representation, seeking not the isolation of the Shiites, but their full participation in the Lebanese state and society. For Sayyed Musa al-Sadr, the South was inseparable from Lebanon itself. He repeatedly warned that neglecting the South endangered the entire country. Through the Committee for the Support of the South, Sayyed Musa sought to unite Lebanese religious and social forces around the protection of the region. He declared: “There is no dignity for Lebanon, nor safety for it, without the South.” His resistance vision was fundamentally national: “The defence of the South and fighting to repel aggression is a religious, historical and national duty.” He also insisted that “the peace of Lebanon is the best face of war against Israel.” His Iranian birth and deep intellectual and personal connections with Iran also made him an important bridge between Lebanese and Iranian societies. He envisioned Arab-Iranian cooperation against Israel, declaring that “Iran is a Muslim country” and that its people were deeply committed to Palestine. For Sayyed Musa al-Sadr, the awakening of the Shiite community, the defence of the South, resistance to Israel and the unity of Lebanon were not separate causes—they were parts of one national mission.

🇮🇷 Public Relations of the Iranian Army: — Since the dawn of today, in response to the recent aggressions of the trespassing enemy and in retaliation for the martyrs of the brave Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and the innocent Iranian people in Lark Island, the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, by launching dozens of suicide drones, targeted the concentration sites of helicopters and the child-killing US army forces at the "Al-Minhad" airbase in the UAE. Al-Minhad airbase is considered one of the important logistical and air transport centers for foreign forces.

When Knowledge Is Not Enough.. “And recite to them the story of the one to whom We gave Our signs, but he detached himself from them; then Satan followed him, and he became one of those who went astray.” Qur’an 7:175 This verse tells the sobering story of a man who once stood among the believers and was entrusted with divine knowledge and signs. Yet he eventually turned away from what he had been given. When he abandoned the path of truth, Satan followed him—and his knowledge could no longer save him from his own choices. This man is traditionally identified as Balaam ibn Baura, who was said to have been granted a remarkable spiritual rank and whose supplications were answered. Yet when he allowed worldly pressures and temptation to pull him away from obedience to Allah, everything changed. The lesson is profound: It is not enough to know the truth; we must remain faithful to it. A person may carry knowledge, worship, experience, and even a history of righteousness—and still lose his way if he begins to compromise what he knows to be right. Notice the Qur’anic expression: “he detached himself from them.” He did not merely lose his knowledge. He separated himself from it. He knew, but stopped living by what he knew. 🌿 So this morning, let us ask ourselves: ■ Are we only carrying the verses of Allah—or are we allowing them to shape our choices? ■ Are we seeking knowledge merely to know more—or to become better? ■ And when temptation comes, will we protect what Allah has entrusted to us? May Allah never allow us to become people who know the truth but turn away from it. May our knowledge become guidance, our faith become action, and our hearts remain steadfast until the very end. 🌸 Good morning.
