| 16 | This amendment simply updates the official list of Group‑I posts in Andhra Pradesh that are filled through direct recruitment by APPSC. It does three things: removes one old post, renames/shifts two posts, and adds three new posts.
## What the amendment does
### 1) One post is removed from Group‑I
- Mandal Parishad Development Officer (MPDO) under A.P. Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Service is taken out of the Group‑I list (it was earlier at Sl. No. 20).
- Practical effect: MPDO vacancies will no longer be recruited as Group‑I via APPSC under this list; they will be treated under a different category/service as per government rules.
### 2) Two posts are renamed/re‑numbered
- Sl. No. 6: “District Panchayat Officer (A.P. Panchayat Services)” is replaced by “Divisional Development Officer (A.P. Panchayat Raj & Rural Development Service)”.
- Sl. No. 8: “Divisional Fire Officer (A.P. Fire Services)” is replaced by “District Fire Officer (A.P. Fire Services)".[1]
- Practical effect: These are largely title/structure changes to match the current departmental naming and hierarchy; the posts remain Group‑I and will be filled through APPSC direct recruitment.
### 3) Three new posts are added to Group‑I (after existing Sl. No. 19)
The following are inserted as new Group‑I posts:
- 20. Assistant Director/Project Officer (A.P. Adult Education Services)
- 21. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Communications) (A.P. Police Service)
- 22. District Educational Officer (A.P. Education Service)
- Practical effect: These posts will now be eligible for direct recruitment through APPSC as Group‑I, and notifications (like the recent Job Calendar 2026) can include them.
## Why this matters for APPSC Group‑I aspirants
- The list of eligible Group‑I posts for direct recruitment is now updated: MPDO is out, DDO and District Fire Officer titles are updated, and three new posts are in.
