| 6 | 🇦🇷🕵️♂️ 🇬🇧— Post from the SIDE (Argentine Intelligence Secretariat) on X
"We're watching" | 5 880 |
| 7 | 🇦🇷🇺🇸🇬🇧🇫🇰⚡️ — Argentina's President Javier Milei:
In the world there are winds of favorable changes to our claim.
Recently, President Trump stated that the United States is re-evaluating its historical position in relation to the Falkland Islands. This threat is not harmless.
The United States evaluates this change of position because they know that Argentina has a reliable partner, aligned with Western values, in a position of strategic relevance that can be a valuable ally in the decades to come.
Without this, none of this would be possible. This alone is an unprecedented fact that shows that the role and relevance of our country in the world has changed strongly. | 328 |
| 8 | 🇦🇷🇬🇧🇫🇰⚡️ — Argentina's President Javier Milei:
The United Nations recognizes the existence of a dispute of sovereignty between Argentina and the United Kingdom, and has repeatedly called on both countries to resolve it through bilateral and peaceful negotiations.
For this reason, the Falkland Islands cause does not belong to a government or a political party. It is a national cause.
During the last three years, our government has promoted our claim to sovereignty based on the new geopolitical relevance of our country.
We have obtained 18 resolutions and declarations from international bodies and forums in support of our claim, and presented more than 60 formal proposals in the face of unilateral actions of the United Kingdom. | 326 |
| 9 | 🇦🇷🇬🇧🇫🇰⚡️ — Argentina's President Javier Milei:
In 1833, the United Kingdom occupied the Falkland Islands, expelled the Argentine authorities, and established a colonial situation that persists to this day.
This implies that the islanders, as they are a population implanted in a usurped territory, do not have a legitimate right to self-determination, and that any argument based on references made on the islands is invalid.
Since then, Argentina has permanently maintained its claim to sovereignty, because, as the national constitution says in its first transitional clause, the Argentine nation ratifies its legitimate and indisputable sovereignty over the Falkland Islands, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, and the corresponding maritime and insular spaces, for being an integral part of the national territory.
The recovery of these territories and the full exercise of sovereignty, respecting the way of life of its inhabitants and according to the principles of international law, constitute a permanent and indisputable objective of the Argentine people. | 291 |
| 10 | 🇦🇷🇬🇧🇫🇰⚡️ — Argentina's President Javier Milei:
I want to be clear with the world and express the position of the Argentine state:
The Falkland Islands are Argentine, by history and by law, there is no discussion about it.
The islands were part of the Argentine territory from the origins of our nation. | 286 |
| 11 | 🇦🇷⚠️🇬🇧🛢 — President Milei will send a Sovereignty Defense Law to Congress based on three points:
1- Sanctioning companies and suppliers that participate directly or indirectly in unauthorized projects in the Falkland Islands, prohibiting them from doing business in Argentina and prosecuting them in absentia.
2- The creation of a National Security Council to coordinate the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Defense, Intelligence, and Economy in a common security plan, along with providing this council with economic and diplomatic tools to respond to any threat to the country's security. | 10 019 |
| 12 | 🇦🇷⚠️🇬🇧⚖️ — Argentina will allow in absentia trials for businessmen who exploit natural resources in the Malvinas/Falkland Islands without Argentina's permission. | 5 637 |
| 13 | 🇦🇷⚠️🇬🇧🛢 — President Javier Milei announced the measures his government will take to defend Argentine resources against the Sea Lion oil project, which could begin offshore drilling in the Malvinas/Falkland Islands in the coming months
“We will not allow it. Argentina will not stand idly by. In response to this situation, we will deploy all the tools of the State—diplomatic, sanctions, economic, judicial, and legal—to deter state and non-state actors from violating our sovereignty.” | 5 576 |
| 14 | 🇦🇷💬📺 — Argentine President Javier Milei will deliver a national address today at 9 pm local time regarding the Malvinas/Falklands Islands issue.
Details about the content of the speech have not been released | 504 |
| 15 | 🇺🇸❌🇬🇧 Trump says US could review its position on Falkland Islands sovereignty
US President Donald Trump said on August 31 that Washington could reconsider its position on sovereignty over the Falkland Islands (also known as Islas Malvinas), responding to a question about Argentina’s longstanding territorial claim against Britain, while the Argentine government has adopted what it describes as a cautious approach to the remarks.
Asked by reporters in the Oval Office whether he was considering a change in the US position on the disputed islands, Trump said: “I always review all positions. That is just one of many.”
It was the first time Trump had publicly commented on the sovereignty dispute between Argentina and Britain, according to the report.
The United States has historically maintained a neutral position on the sovereignty question, although Washington has at times shown support for Britain in the dispute. A change in that stance could have broader implications for the strategic balance surrounding the South Atlantic.
The comments came after British newspaper The Telegraph reported that Washington was reviewing its commitments to NATO allies in connection with new defence-spending targets. The report said US officials were concerned that the UK had not yet presented a sufficiently detailed path towards the 5% of gross domestic product defence-spending target promoted by the Trump administration.
A US official said discussions with London remained open and that “no option is off the table” in efforts to achieve greater burden-sharing among allies, The Telegraph reported.
The issue has gained additional relevance for Argentina because of the close political relationship between Trump and President Javier Milei. Buenos Aires continues to claim sovereignty over the Falkland Islands, while Britain insists that they are a British Overseas Territory.

| 16 | 🇦🇷⚽️❗️ — Lionel Messi announces his retirement from the Argentina National Team:
After this time that has passed since the final, after thinking about it a lot, I want to tell everyone that I am retiring from the National Team...
It was a decision that hurt and still hurts, but I understand that it is the right time. I promise that I always gave my all, not just in the last few years when we won everything, but also before, and I always fought and gave everything for this jersey, to bring you joy and to make you feel proud to be Argentines through football.
There is not much time left, and stages are coming to an end, and this is one that hurts me a lot. I love, loved, and will always love being part of the National Team. I have given everything I had, I have nothing more to give, and besides, there are very talented young players coming up who deserve to be there.
Thank you for all the love over these 20 years. I will miss hearing you from within. Now I will be one of you, cheering and supporting always from the outside (in good times and bad, even more so).
Thank you to my family for always being there, for accompanying me on this beautiful but difficult journey. Thank you to each and every one of the coaches, teammates, and officials I had the pleasure of sharing experiences with. I will take away unforgettable memories and moments.
I am leaving with the peace of mind and pride of having given you, together with my teammates, dream moments. It was incredible to experience it with you. I love you!
Thank you, God, for making me Argentine.
Let's go, Argentina!
*I wrote these words on July 21st, two days after the final. Today, after what happened with my father, I am even more convinced.

| 19 | 🇺🇸 🇪🇨 🌟 US special forces bolster Ecuadoran anti-narco ops
US troops are carrying out joint military operations with Ecuadoran forces against narco-trafficking gangs near the Colombian border, Ecuadoran officials have confirmed.
Ecuador’s right-wing President Daniel Noboa is one of US President Donald Trump’s closest allies in Latin America.
US forces have for months been supporting his military against the drug traffickers that have turned what was once one of South America’s safest countries into one of its deadliest.
“We are with the 7th (Special Forces) Group of the US Army…we are working together in the fight against narcoterrorism,” Juan Jaramillo, governor of violence-plagued Esmeraldas province, said Wednesday.
He declined to say how many US troops were deployed in the area or since when.
Defense Minister Gian Carlo Loffredo on Thursday announce the arrival of two warships and three US Black Hawk helicopters to control parts of the coast, including the port of Manta, a trafficking hotspot.
The operations are being conducted under the auspices of Trump’s Shield of the Americas anti-cartel alliance.
The coastal province of Esmeraldas has seen a surge in murders, kidnappings and extortion rackets carried out by drug trafficking groups that ship cocaine from neighboring Colombia and Peru through Ecuador’s ports to world markets.

| 20 | 🇦🇷💥 — During an event at the Council of the Americas, President Javier Milei blamed the legalization of abortion for the decline in the number of births in Argentina. He argued that the measure has had negative effects on the country's population growth.
❗️ According to Milei, the South American nation is not reaching birth rates sufficient to ensure population replacement. “We are paying a very high price,” the president said.
➡️ Referring to the legislation allowing abortion, he stated that, “therefore, this passion for killing children in the womb is also costing us dearly in terms of growth.” “And I won't even mention the impact on the pension system,” Javier Milei added at the Council of the Americas.
➡️ Voluntary termination of pregnancy has been legal in Argentina since January 2021, during the administration of former Kirchnerist President Alberto Fernández, allowing any pregnant woman to undergo the procedure free of charge through the public healthcare system up to the 14th week of pregnancy. After that period, abortion is permitted only in cases of rape or risk to the pregnant woman's life or health.
