🧬 Homeostasis ialah proses mengekalkan keadaan dalaman badan yang stabil dan seimbang walaupun berlaku perubahan dalam persekitaran luar.
Dalam bahasa mudah:
Homeostasis = badan mengawal dan mengekalkan keadaan dalaman supaya sentiasa optimum untuk sel berfungsi.
Contoh:
🌡 Suhu badan → dikekalkan sekitar 37°C
Terlalu panas → berpeluh untuk menyejukkan badan
Terlalu sejuk → menggigil untuk menghasilkan haba
🍬 Aras glukosa dalam darah
Tinggi → pankreas menghasilkan insulin untuk menurunkan glukosa
Rendah → pankreas menghasilkan glukagon untuk meningkatkan glukosa
💧 Kandungan air dalam badan
Kurang air → buah pinggang menyerap semula lebih banyak air

Homeostasis ialah mekanisme kawal atur oleh organisma untuk mengekalkan persekitaran dalaman yang stabil dan seimbang melalui proses tindak balas pembetulan.
