VIDEO: Mothers in Gaza have endured the death of their children, their menfolk and their homes. How will we answer Allah for leaving them beholden to their oppressors for so long? See this week’s story of a widowed mother and her children in Gaza, who were helped by your donations to Ummah Welfare Trust. Our aid will not return their father, but it can help revive our dead hearts and bring hope to Muslims left abandoned by the world. uwt.org

For the second consecutive week, the Israeli occupation continues to prevent the adhān from being called at al-Masjid al-Ibrāhīmī in al-Khalīl (Hebron). The Director of the mosque has been banned, members of its staff and custodians targeted, worshippers restricted from accessing this blessed sanctuary, and settlers permitted to pray in areas from which Muslims are barred. These escalating measures form part of ongoing attempts to alter the mosque's Islamic identity and impose a new reality within it. The restrictions imposed upon al-Masjid al-Ibrāhīmī should serve as a stark warning for what is being pursued at al-Masjid al-Aqṣā. May Allah protect al-Masjid al-Ibrāhīmī, al-Masjid al-Aqṣā, and all of our blessed sanctuaries, grant steadfastness to their worshippers, and hasten relief and victory for our brothers and sisters in Palestine, Sudan, and across the Muslim Ummah.

Across the world today, Muslim youth are becoming increasingly disconnected from Islam. Acts of worship are reduced to physical actions of the tongue and limbs, devoid of the presence of the heart and love for Allah. When we teach the ‘why’ alongside the ‘how’, we solidify īmān in the hearts of young believers. Read the full article here: https://quranictarbiyah.com/raising-children-who-love-islam/

The Sahabah's Love and Respect for the Prophet ﷺ Upon seeing the Companions' tremendous attachment to the Prophet ﷺ, ʿUrwah b. Masʿūd said to his people: “O people! By Allah, I have been in delegations sent to kings, delegations sent to the Qaysar, Kisrā and the Negus, but I have never seen a king honoured by his companions as the companions of Muḥammad ﷺ honour him! By Allah, he does not spit except that it falls in the hands of one of them, who then rubs his face and body with it. When he commands them, they hasten to carry out his order. When he performs wuḍūʾ, they almost fight for his leftover wuḍūʾ water. When he speaks, they lower their voices, and out of awe of him, they do not stare directly at him.” (Bukhārī)

As we experience this heat, let it remind us of the overwhelming conditions of the Day of Judgement. If this brief spell of heat is difficult, then what will it be like on the Day of Judgement, when the sun will be brought only a mile above our heads and the Day itself will last for 50,000 years? Let this heatwave motivate us to strive to be among the seven categories of people who will be granted the shade of Allah on the Day of Judgement, when there will be no shade except His shade.

Send abundant ṣalawāt upon the one who sacrificed his life, his comfort, his wealth, and his safety, just so you could internalise the message of lā ilāha illā Allah.

Ibn Taymiyyah (raḥimahullāh) said: The killing of Ḥusayn (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu), was one of the greatest calamities. The killing of Ḥusayn (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) and the killing of ʿUthmān (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) before him were among the greatest causes of trials and tribulations in this Ummah. They were killed by the worst of creation in the sight of Allah. As for whoever killed Ḥusayn (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu), or helped in killing him, or was pleased with it, the curse of Allah, the angels, and all people is upon them. Allah will not accept any compensation or reconciliation from them. There is no doubt that the killing of Ḥusayn (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) is one of the greatest sins, and that the doer of this act, the one pleased with it, and the one who assists in it deserves the punishment of Allah.” Ibn Kathīr (raḥimahullāh) said: “Every Muslim should be saddened by the killing of Ḥusayn (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu); for he is one of the leaders of the Muslims, one of the scholars among the Companions, and the son of the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who is the best of his daughters. He was devout, brave, and generous.”

In today’s world of oppression and tyranny, let us overcome our feelings of weakness and pessimism. Let us instead develop the īmān and yaqīn (conviction) of Mūsā (ʿalayhis-salām). O Allah, just as You freed Mūsā (ʿalayhis-salām) and his people on this day from the tyranny of Pharaoh, grant freedom, relief, and victory to our brothers and sisters in Gaza, Sudan, and the rest of the Muslim Ummah.

The sea split. The believers crossed. The tyrant followed… and drowned along with his army. A powerful reminder from Sūrah Ash-Shuʿarāʾ (verses 52–68). Allah saved Mūsā (ʿalayhis-salām) & his people — and drowned Pharaoh and his army. ⚡ Power crumbled. Pride drowned. Truth prevailed. In the end, no Pharaoh reigns forever. No tyranny lasts forever.

ʿAshura’: A Day of Divine Mercy & Hope On this day, Allah saved Prophet Mūsā (ʿalayhis-salām) and his people from Pharaoh. A day of victory for the oppressed, and a reminder that relief comes after hardship. -Fasting on ‘Āshūrā’ wipes away the sins of the past year. -Its story renews our hope in Allah’s power and mercy. Let’s revive this day with faith — by fasting, remembrance, and du‘ā’. And let’s not forget our oppressed brothers and sisters across the world. O Allah, grant them freedom as You granted freedom to Prophet Mūsā (ʿalayhis-salām), and grant them victory like You granted Your righteous servants.
“And remind them of the days of Allah.” — Sūrah Ibrāhīm (14:5)

Tomorrow is the blessed day of ʿĀshūrāʾ. Despite the intense heat, we should remember that the Ṣaḥābah and the righteous predecessors viewed fasting on hot days as a tremendous opportunity to draw closer to Allah and attain a greater reward. While advising his son during his final moments, ʿUmar ibn al-Khaṭṭāb (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) mentioned fasting during the intense heat of summer among the qualities of true īmān. (Laṭāʾif al-Maʿārif) Ibn Rajab (raḥimahullāh) wrote:
“Among the acts of obedience whose reward is multiplied during intense heat is fasting, because of the thirst experienced during the midday heat.” (Laṭāʾif al-Maʿārif)
Abū al-Dardāʾ (raḍiy Allāhu ʿanhu) said:
“Pray two rakʿahs in the darkness of the night for the darkness of the grave. Fast on a very hot day for the heat of the Day of Resurrection, and give charity to ward off the perils of a very difficult Day.”
