شرح البيت باختصار: يريده سادة بدون مكاسر

اجتَمَعَ قومٌ على الشرابِ فتغنّى مغنّيهم بشِعرِ حسّان، فقالَ بعضُهم: امرأتي طالِقٌ إنْ لَم اسألِ الليلةَ عُبَيدَ الله بن الحسن القاضي عن عِلّةَِ هذا الشِّعر، لِمَ قال «إنّ التي» فوَحّد، ثُمّ قال «كِلتاهُما» فَثَنّى؟ فأشفَقوا على صاحِبِهم وتَرَكوا ما كانوا عليه ومَضوا فوَجدوا عُبَيد الله يصلّي، فلمّا فَرِغَ من صلاته شرحوا له الخبر وسألوه الجواب. فقالَ مع زهده وتَقَشُّفِه، «إنّ التي ناوَلتَني فَرَددَتُها» عنى بها الخمرة الممزوجة بالماء، ثُمّ قال «كِلتاهُما حَلَبُ العصير» يريدُ الخمرة المتحلِّبةَ من العنب والماءَ المتحلِّبَ من السحاب، المكنّى بالمُعصِراتِ في قوله تعالى «وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ الْمُعْصِرَاتِ مَاءً ثَجَّاجًا». وقد بَقِيَ في الشِّعرِما يَحتاجُ لتفسير؛ أمّا البيتُ الأول فإنّه خاطبَ به الساقي الذي ناوله كأسًا ممزوجةً بالماء؛ لأنه يُقال: قَتَلتُ الخمرةَ إذا مَزَجتَها، فكأنّه أراد أنْ يُعلِمَه أنّه فَطِنَ لِما فَعَلَه، ثُمّ ما اقتنعَ حتى دعا عليه بالقتل؛ ثُمّ إنّه عَقَّبَ الدعاء عليه بأن استعطى [طلبَ] منه الخمرة التي لَم تُقتَل. وقَولُه «أرخاهُما للمِفصَل» يعني به اللسان، وسُمِّيَ مِفصَلًا لأنّه يفصل بين الحقِّ والباطل. — ثمرات الأوراق لـ ابن حجة الحموي
