IDF: Hamas continues to exploit hospitals for terrorist activity: The IDF eliminated a terrorist who planted explosives taken from inside Kamal Adwan Hospital
An additional Hamas military-wing terrorist, who was presented to the world as a ‘civil defense worker’, was eliminated in the strike
Overnight (Wednesday), IDF troops identified two Hamas terrorists who had exited Kamal Adwan Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip. One of the terrorists planted explosives, that he had brought from inside the hospital, in the area of the Yellow Line with the intention of harming IDF troops.
Following the identification, the IDF struck and eliminated the terrorists in order to remove the threat.
Muhammad Tammous, a sniper in Hamas’ military wing who was eliminated in the strike, simultaneously operated as a civil defense worker in the Gaza Strip.
In recent days, the terrorists advanced attacks from within the hospital and operated to restore Hamas’ capabilities, in systematic violation of the ceasefire agreement.
The IDF reiterates that Hamas continues to cynically exploit hospitals and medical infrastructure in the Gaza Strip for terrorist purposes, in violation of international law, turning spaces intended to provide care to the civilian population into areas used to advance terrorist activity and restore the terrorist organization’s military capabilities. This activity endangers the civilian population.
IDF troops under the Southern Command are deployed in the area in accordance with the agreement and will continue to operate to remove immediate threats.

IDF: Chief of the General Staff during the first exercise of the new 38th division in training: “This week, we mark 53 years since the Yom Kippur War and three years since the October 7th Massacre — two painful shortcomings, two failures, with a connecting thread between them. The lesson we must all learn from both wars is that the possibility of a surprise attack must concern us all; the IDF must always be prepared for a surprise war”
“A commander who does not question and entrenche himself in his perceptions will be defeated. Reality is constantly sending us signals, and it is our duty to identify those signals, listen to them and constantly adapt”
Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir, visited today (Wednesday), together with Commander of the Ground Forces, MG Nadav Lotan, and Commander of the 38th Division and Head of the Ground Forces Operations Brigade, BG Sharon Altit, during a divisional exercise of the 38th Division the new division in training.
During the visit, the Chief of the General Staff examined the troops’ readiness and preparedness for their missions.
From the remarks of Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir:
“This week, we mark 53 years since the Yom Kippur War and three years since the October 7th massacre — two painful shortcomings, two failures, with a connecting thread between them. The lesson we must all learn from both wars is that the possibility of a surprise attack must concern us all; the IDF must always be prepared for a surprise war.
We are examining the roots of the failure and engaging in a process of learning. We opened the week with a learning day to review the lessons of the October 7th Massacre, and we are constantly working to implement and embed them so that the failure does not happen again.
This is my responsibility as Chief of the General Staff, and it is the responsibility of all uniformed personnel, both active-duty and reserve.
A commander who does not question and entrenche himself in his perceptions will be defeated. Reality is constantly sending us signals, and it is our duty to identify those signals, listen to them and constantly adapt.
At the same time, we must not become immersed solely in failure — we must confront it, learn from it and move forward.
Over the past 20 years, we reduced the size of the IDF. This trend has stopped. Our missions are growing, and the size of the military constitutes our strategic depth in a country as small as Israel. The establishment of the 38th Division and the establishment of additional frameworks over the past year are essential steps in the IDF’s force build-up and in strengthening the security of the State of Israel. The 38th Division is now becoming an operational division, and over the coming year it will establish itself as a flexible General Staff reserve division capable of operating in any arena.
To the reservists here, I say thank you. The entire State of Israel owes you its gratitude for the activities you have carried out over the past three years with extraordinary sacrifice.”

We will not allow our enemies to strengthen undisturbed. We will identify threats as they emerge and strike them with determination and force. Troops and commanders of the IDF, you are the heroes standing guard over the land, the shield spread over its civilians, and the sword raised against its enemies. It is a privilege and a source of pride for me, as Chief of the General Staff, to lead the army of Israel’s heroes.
We will carry with us the memory of the fallen and the lessons of October 7th, and build a future in which Israeli civilians live securely in their country. As the people’s army, we will continue to serve together, build the strength of the IDF ahead of the next tests still before us, preserve its values and spirit, and lead it to victory. We will ensure that this people, which has returned to its land, will never again be uprooted from it.
This is our duty to the fallen, our responsibility to Israeli civilians, and our oath to future generations. Am Israel chai. May the memory of the fallen be a blessing.”

IDF: Chief of the General Staff on Marking Three Years Since the October 7th Massacre: “In the wheat fields, in the orchards, in the homes of the kibbutzim, and in the cities of the western Negev, in the places where roots of life and settlement had been planted, the enemy sowed fire, destruction, and ruin. Roads that connected communities became combat routes. Our fields became battlefields, and family homes became sites of massacre and abduction. Today, three years later, an entire nation bows its head and mourns”
“We will carry their stories with us and educate generations of commanders and troops in their light. It is our duty to investigate and ensure that the lessons are implemented, so that we may be more worthy of the trust the people have placed in us. Out of that difficult morning, the heroism of a generation was revealed. The people of Israel, in all their diversity, stood up to defend the home and restore security. In the most difficult moments, the unity and exemplary character of Israeli society were revealed. We will carry with us the memory of the fallen and the lessons of October 7th, and build a future in which Israeli civilians live securely in their country”
Attached is the Chief of the General Staff, LTG Eyal Zamir's order of the day, marking three years since the October 7th massacre:
“Troops and commanders of the IDF, in mandatory service and in the reserves, IDF civilian employees. On October 7th, the day of Simchat Torah 5784, our borders were breached in a bloody attack on Israeli civilians. The IDF failed in its most important mission to protect the civilians of the State of Israel.
In the wheat fields, in the orchards, in the homes of the kibbutzim, and in the cities of the western Negev, in the places where roots of life and settlement had been planted, the enemy sowed fire, destruction, and ruin. Roads that connected communities became combat routes. Our fields became battlefields, and family homes became sites of massacre and abduction.
Today, three years later, an entire nation bows its head and mourns. We remember the civilians who were murdered in their homes, the young women and men who went out to dance and did not return, those who were abducted and murdered in captivity, the combat troops and soldiers who fell, the members of the security forces, the community security and rescue teams, who went into the inferno and fell in battle. We stand alongside the wounded and those harmed by the war, and embrace the bereaved families. The memory of the fallen and the murdered will stand before our eyes and remind us of the magnitude of the responsibility entrusted to us. Their heroism, dedication, and camaraderie are part of our legacy.
We will carry their stories with us and educate generations of commanders and troops in their light. It is our duty to investigate and ensure that the lessons are implemented, so that we may be more worthy of the trust the people have placed in us. Out of that difficult morning, the heroism of a generation was revealed. The people of Israel, in all their diversity, stood up to defend their home and restore security. The troops and commanders of the IDF, in mandatory service and in the reserves, charged forward under fire and fought tirelessly. The reservists left their families time and again and reported wherever they were needed. IDF civilian employees reported to their workplaces even beyond regular working hours, ready for any mission in order to assist the war effort. In the most difficult moments, the unity and exemplary character of Israeli society were revealed. A people that comes to the aid of its sons and daughters, fights for its revival, and leaves no one behind.
This is the spirit of victory, the spirit our enemies will never be able to break. From that day, we set out on a prolonged campaign. We fought in arenas near and far, defended communities and borders, struck our enemies, and dismantled capabilities that threatened Israeli civilians. We rescued and returned hostages, changed, and developed new ways to confront threats.
