On January 9, 2025, a Cessna 525 CitationJet CJ1+ overran the runway while landing at Ubatuba Airport in São Paulo, Brazil. The aircraft crossed a road and crashed onto Cruzeiro Beach, where it exploded. The pilot was killed, and seven others, including children, were injured.
The incident was captured on surveillance cameras, showing the jet skidding off the runway and erupting into flames upon reaching the beach.

Air Canada plane makes emergency landing due to landing gear failure at Halifax Airport, Canada
The aircraft began catching fire as it skidded “on its belly” across the runway. Yet another plane landed belly-first, but unlike the landing in South Korea (mentioned above), this time, there was no concrete wall in its path.
Thanks to the skill of the pilots and the crew, who managed to land the plane and efficiently evacuate passengers after landing, there were no fatalities this time, with only about 15 people sustaining injuries.

THE CATASTROPHIC EFFECTS OF HURRICANE CHIDO ON MAYOTTE, FRANCE.
Several hundred people - and possibly thousands - could be dead after the most powerful cyclone in almost 100 years struck the French Indian Ocean island of Mayotte.
When asked about the death toll, the French Interior Ministry said that "it will be difficult to count all the victims", at this stage an exact figure could not be determined.
Mayotte is almost entirely dependent on French financial aid, with about 75 per cent of the population living below the poverty line and one in three unemployed.
Aerial footage provided by the French gendarmerie shows the wreckage of hundreds of makeshift houses scattered across the hills of one of Mayotte's islands, which has become a centre for illegal immigration from the nearby Comoros Islands.
