Sayyid al-Istighfār: The Best Prayer for Seeking Forgiveness Narrated Shaddād ibn Aws رضي الله عنه: The Prophet (ﷺ) said "The most superior way of asking for forgiveness from Allāh is: اللهم أنت ربي، لا إله إلا أنت ، خلقتني وأنا عبدك، وأنا على عهدك ووعدك ما استطعت أعوذ بك من شر ما صنعت أبوء لك بنعمتك علي، وأبوء بذنبي، فاغفر لي فإنه لا يغفر الذنوب إلا أنت The Prophet (ﷺ) added. "If somebody recites it during the day with firm faith in it, and dies on the same day before the evening, he will be from the people of Paradise; and if somebody recites it at night with firm faith in it, and dies before the morning, he will be from the people of Paradise." [Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī 6306] Transliteration: Allāhumma anta rabbī, lā ilāha illā anta,, khalaqtanī wa-anā ʿabduka, wa-anā ʿalā ʿahdika wa-waʿdika mā’istaṭaʿtu, aʿūdhu bika min sharri mā ṣanaʿtu abūʾu laka bi-niʿmatika ʿalayy, wa-abūʾu laka bidhanbī, fa’ighfir lī fa-innahu lā yaghfir al-dhunūba illā ant Translation: O Allāh, You are my Lord, there is no God but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise (to honour it) as best as I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil that I have committed. I acknowledge Your favor upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for surely none can forgive sins but You.

Families are losing their homes, firefighters are losing their lives, and millions are struggling to breathe as Indonesia battles its worst forest fires in more than a decade. The smoke is spreading across Southeast Asia, forcing school closures and putting lives at risk. Four people were killed fighting a wildfire in Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park on October 15, while two others suffered serious burns. In Bangka Belitung, fires have destroyed nearly 300 homes, forcing around 1,000 residents to flee. Some fires are linked to deliberate land-clearing practices, including slash-and-burn methods used to clear forests and peatlands for agriculture. Authorities are investigating potential wrongdoing as the blazes continue to devastate communities and wildlife. May Allāh protect everyone affected, grant patience to those who have lost loved ones, provide shelter and relief to displaced families, and keep the firefighters and rescue teams safe. Āmīn. 🤲🇮🇩

🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia overturns death sentence against Sri Lankan man A Sri Lankan migrant worker, Anojan Sivarasa, has had his death sentence overturned by Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court following a case involving a social media comment deemed offensive to Islam’s Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. The case took several turns. On 27 July 2026, a criminal court sentenced him to five years in prison and a fine of 3 million Saudi riyals (around $800,000). However, on 17 September, an appeals court increased the punishment to the death penalty. On 13 October, Saudi Arabia’s Supreme Court overturned the death sentence following diplomatic and legal efforts by the Sri Lankan government. Although the ruling removes the immediate threat of execution, it remains unclear whether Sivarasa will still serve his original prison sentence or face other legal consequences.

On this day six years ago, a video of a woman performing Ṭawāf alone around the Kaʿbah touched hearts around the world. She was later identified in reports as Dr ʿAzīzah al-Baṭṭī, a Saudi educator who reportedly performed Ṭawāf for her late husband after completing her ʿiddah. A quiet moment of devotion at the House of Allāh, reminding us that some acts of love and faith need no words. ❤️

Muslim girls are being turned away from their classrooms in Azerbaijan for wearing the hijab. Now, some of their male classmates are refusing to attend school in solidarity with them. On 21 September 2026, Azerbaijan's Cabinet of Ministers introduced new school uniform rules prohibiting clothing deemed inconsistent with the principle of secularism. Although the decree did not explicitly mention the hijab, school inspections beginning on 9 October saw girls wearing headscarves barred from classes. Female teachers were also reportedly required to remove their hijabs. But the students have not stood alone. At some schools, boys have refused to attend lessons in solidarity with their Muslim classmates. In the Sabunchu district of Baku, students displayed a message that captured the heart of the dispute: “A hijab does not stand in the way of an education.”

At around 4 a.m. on October 14, an Isr*eli strike hit a residential building in Al-Rimal, Gaza, killing 33-year-old Reem Asaad Awad and leaving her three-year-old daughter, Mariam Ahmed Ghanem, severely injured. Trapped inside the burning apartment, Mariam’s cries pierced the chaos until rescuers rushed in and saved her. She was later treated for second-degree burns at hospital. Mariam is now an orphan, and her grandmother is all she has left. Her mother, Reem, was killed in the strike, while her father had already been killed earlier in Isr*el’s genocide on Gaza.

⚠️ Distressing content: The occupation forces carried out an airstrike at 4am on an apartment building in Gaza City. As neighbours rushed to the scene for help, they heard the screams of a young girl, and found her sat in the rubble around flames. Her mother was killed in the attack.

After the government of Azerbaijan banned the Hijab in school, many students and teachers were banned from entering. So the teacher and students decided to conduct classes in the schoolyards.

Fans of Turkish football club Galatasaray displayed powerful banners in support of Palestine during tonight’s UEFA Champions League clash against Barcelona, standing in solidarity with Palestinians amid the ongoing genocide. The banners carried the messages: “#Free Palestine” and “Humanity lost conscience in Gaza.” 🇵🇸

CCTV footage has been released of the Houthi attack on King Khalid International Aiport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The attack took place on Saturday claimed the lives of 12 people, and injured over 300. Many of those were in the state of ʾIḥrām on their way to perform ʿUmrah.

A young girl is in tears after she was expelled from school in Azerbaijan because of her hijab. “They told me, ‘Go into that room and take off your headscarf. You have to take it off until noon.’”

His latest tribute is to 10 year-old Amal Abu Khater, who was shot in the back by Isr*eli forces on 24th August 2026, while she was eating inside her family’s tent in Khan Younis, Gaza. 🇵🇸 After previously honouring Hind Rajab, Wafaa Akila, Lana and Bana Ahmed, Azeez Al-Shaair continues to use his platform to ensure these children are not forgotten, even after the NFL fined him $11,941 for paying tribute to Hind.

Reminder: Tomorrow is Monday. The Prophet ﷺ used to fast on Mondays. Abū Qatāda al-Anṣārī رضي الله عنه reported that Allāh's Messenger ﷺ was asked about fasting on Monday, whereupon he said: ‎It is (the day) when I was born and revelation was sent down to me. ‎[Ṣaḥīḥ Muslim 1162e]
