“Well done, good and faithful servant!” Everyone wants to hear these words when they meet God face to face. Yet, not all have the confidence that they will hear this, based on how they’re living today. We cannot slow the passing of time or the nearing of our finish line, but we can trust in our God who has written in His book all the days ordained for us before one of them came to be (Ps 139:16). This Father’s Day, as we honour the dads, father figures, and spiritual fathers in our lives, let’s remember that they too are children of our heavenly Father. How can one never thirst again? It’s hard to imagine what that would feel like, especially with Singapore’s hot and humid weather. However, Jesus offers something special: living water. Water that will not leave us wanting. A drink that truly satisfies (John 4:13–14). What kinds of wells are you drinking from today? Where do you go to find satisfaction? Jesus told the Samaritan woman, "If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked Him and he would have given you living water” (v. 10).
