Buy SpaceX without buying SPCX
The rocket came back down to earth: SpaceX lost $600B+ in market cap in three days, and shares fell to $147, which is below the opening price. Yesterday the company shed $400B — this is the second-largest single-day drop in history after Nvidia last year (-$590B).
Musk's main motivations for the next decades are his ambitions and bonuses tied to two targets: orbital data centers with 100 TW of capacity (60M shares) and a Mars colony of 1M people plus SPCX market cap hitting $7.5T (200M shares). If falls short, and his pay drops to just the base salary of $54,000 a year 🥲
The massive plans 🪐
Scaling Starship requires thousands of launches per year and sending millions of tons of cargo into space. The company needs ultra-light alloys, composites, fuel systems, avionics, and more.
Orbital data centers need millions of satellites with enormous computing power — chips, radio modules, cooling systems, and solar panels.
A Martian colony ultimately means manufacturing everything here on Earth: from rockets and modules to life support systems, food, and fuel.
Who will supply SpaceX?
✨ STMicroelectronics (STM) — billions of RF chips for Starlink. The company expects volumes to double by 2027.
✨ Honeywell (HON) — flight control systems and avionics.
✨ Carpenter Technology (CRS) — specialty alloys for Starship and its engines.
✨ Hexcel (HXL) — composites and carbon fiber for thousands of Starships. A SpaceX partner for over 10 years, with HXL materials specifically adapted for them.
✨ Howmet Aerospace (HWM) — titanium components, fasteners, engine parts.
✨ Materion (MTRN) — niobium and specialty materials for extreme temperatures, critical for Starship engines.

↘️ Cerebras Systems (CBRS) -10%. The AI chip maker reported first‑quarter revenue of $193.4M, beating the forecast of $181.4M. The full‑year revenue outlook also exceeded consensus. Shares are currently in the red – apparently, investors were hoping for a more significant beat to justify the company's valuation following its IPO in May.
↘️ FedEx (FDX) -7%. The company beat earnings per share and revenue expectations, but full‑year guidance appears to have disappointed investors.
↘️ Hertz Global Holdings (HTZ) -16%. The car rental company lowered its second‑quarter profit forecast and announced plans to raise capital through equity and debt offerings.

Trading on the Kospi index was halted for 20 minutes. Japan's Nikkei index fell 3%. The trigger was growing concerns about overvalued AI company valuations.
↗️ International Business Machines (IBM) +5%. The company announced a partnership with OpenAI to integrate more advanced AI capabilities into corporate cybersecurity operations. IBM will gain access to OpenAI's cutting-edge models through the Daybreak Cyber Partner program to more quickly identify, assess, and respond to cyber threats.

| 5 | Top ideas for trading this week
🔴 Micron (MU). The report will be released on June 24 after market close. The stock has risen over 830% over the past year. Management is highly likely to reaffirm strong demand and a solid order backlog for years ahead. The main question is how much further growth is already priced in. It will definitely be volatile. If the reaction to the report is weak, pressure could affect the entire sector: SanDisk (SNDK), Western Digital (WDC), Seagate Technology (STX).
🔴 Other space stocks: Intuitive Machines, AST SpaceMobile, Rocket Lab, Planet Labs, or the Tema Space Innovators ETF. The SpaceX IPO was quite successful, but there has been no noticeable effect on other companies in the sector yet. It seems many took profits on the event. Valuations of some companies look interesting. There is a chance that one of them could become an acquisition target, or the sector may simply continue to move on its own.
🔴 Cerebras (CBRS). The report will be released on June 23 after market close. An AI chip developer trying to compete with market leaders in computing accelerators. The company's valuation is inflated: P/E around 200 (Nvidia's is about 35). The potential could be huge, but a lot of expectations are already priced in.
🔴 FedEx (FDX). Report on June 23. A stock with a complicated history: high volatility, mixed results, and steady market interest. It's hard to predict the direction after the report, but it's worth looking at its main competitor, UPS, which historically looks more stable. FedEx could offer an interesting intraday move.
🔴 IonQ (IONQ). One of the most popular public companies in the quantum computing sector. The market is currently valuing not current results but the future potential of the technology. The company continues to post substantial losses, and it's unclear whether it will manage to build a sustainable business. If you believe in the sector, you can consider it for the medium term, but the risks here are higher than for most AI stories.
🔴 High risk — for professionals.

| 6 | Memory chipmakers surged by tens of percent. Bitcoin sideways for two weeks
🔼 The market rose again: SPY +1%, Nasdaq +3% for the week, waiting for new all-time highs.
🚀 Data storage and processing infrastructure is rocketing again:
Western Digital +40%
Arm Holdings +28%
Seagate Technology +25%
SanDisk +17%
🛢 Oil companies Chevron and Exxon Mobil each lost 6%, while IBM shares fell 10%.
🪙 Bitcoin is trading in the $64,000–65,000 range. The support level is clear, $60,000, but whether anyone will buy at that level, including the US, is unclear. This week, meetings are scheduled to finalize key details of the US crypto market structure bill, the CLARITY Act. Its passage could boost institutional interest.
📄 On Thursday, the Personal Consumption Expenditures (PCE) price index for May will be released. The Fed considers PCE a more accurate measure of price changes because it analyzes data from businesses. The index accounts for what money was actually spent on in the economy and uses a broader set of expenditures than, say, CPI. In April, PCE rose 3.8% year‑over‑year, well above the 2% target. This is the largest increase in three years.
📌 Among the reports, the most interesting this week are FedEx, Cerebras Systems, Carnival Corporation, Micron Technology, Darden Restaurants, and TD SYNNEX.

↘️ Kroger (KR) -3%. A US supermarket chain. Earnings per share matched expectations, while revenue exceeded consensus. The company purchased 322,000 vehicles from consumers and dealers, down 4.4% from last year. Following the report, analysts at Vital Knowledge said it was "a strong showing for KMX's new CEO," with evidence that the "turnaround initiatives are bearing fruit."
🔥 uniQure N.V. (QURE) +71%. A gene therapy company developing solutions for people with severe genetic diseases. The FDA agrees that uniQure's 3-year Phase I/II clinical trial data for AMT‑130 can serve as the basis for an accelerated filing for registration of the drug to treat Huntington's disease. | 10 | We’ve updated UTEX Nova 🔄
Here are some of the latest quality-of-life updates.
Multi-charts 📊
♦ Buy and Sell buttons are now on every chart. The order form also opens if you click the plus icon next to the price on the right scale.
♦ Clicking the full company name opens its description, order book with tape, fees, and news.
♦ Multi-charts are now cleaner — only candlesticks and the ticker name are shown. All details and features appear only when you hover over the chart.
♦ The chart window can now be resized all the way down so you can keep it in the background.
Hotkeys ⌨️
♦ F1–F12 keys can now be assigned as hotkeys without modifiers like Ctrl, Cmd, Alt, or Shift.
♦ Clicking hotkey settings (top-right corner of the menu) shows all hotkeys, including Nova navigation actions — refresh page, switch tabs, and more.
♦ One hotkey press = one order, even if the key is held down. Navigation actions in Nova will repeat when keys are held.
♦ On Mac, ⌘W no longer closes the tab if you assign it for trading. However, it still cannot be set as a hotkey — ⌘W remains reserved for closing tabs in all other cases.
Plus, we’ve fixed some minor with hotkeys, multi-charts, and more. | 2 142 |
| 11 | One trader dominated the leaderboard in the first half of June with a single stock. Seven of the top 10 trades were in Micron, generating a total profit of $63,000. He held the position without leverage since February and more than doubled his account.
There’s just one catch.
At your request, we also checked the worst trades leaderboard. It turned out to be led by the same trader. His losses from short positions in MU totaled $64,000 🗿
🍏 An Apple short held for just one day worked surprisingly well, bringing in $16,000.
💰 The most profitable trader over the past two weeks earned $33,800.
Interestingly, the leaderboard contains no NVDA, TSLA, PLTR, or other usual crowd favorites 👀
On Friday, 8% of active traders traded SpaceX. The best result: +$3,500.
There are still two weeks left in June — which means there's still time to open your best trade of the month on UTEX: https://go.utex.io/utex-post | 2 237 |
| 12 | SpaceX continues its flight. Robinhood cuts 10% of its workforce
↗️ Space Exploration Technologies (SPCX) +5%. The rally in SpaceX continues. Yesterday, shares rose 19.6%.
↘️ Marvell Technology (MRVL) -1%. Marvell's CEO filed with the SEC to sell 211,329 shares worth approximately $65M. On June 2, Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang called MRVL the next trillion-dollar company.
↘️ Dave & Buster's Entertainment (PLAY) -15%. A chain of entertainment venues and restaurants with attractions and games. Earnings per share and revenue came in below analyst expectations.
↗️ Western Digital (WDC) +9%. Morgan Stanley raised its price target for the company from $488 to $650. Reasons include the ongoing shortage of hard drives due to AI development and fully sold-out capacity for 2026. SNDK, MU, and STX are also rising.
↗️ Robinhood (HOOD) +1%. The trading platform announced a 10% reduction in its workforce — about 290 positions — as part of streamlining and simplifying management. The company estimates restructuring costs at approximately $20M, which will go toward severance and employee benefits, plus about another $8M in stock-based compensation expenses. | 2 169 |
| 13 | Inflation is accelerating. Let's see what Warsh says after the Fed meeting
➕ Major US indices ended the week in positive territory, with the SPY gaining 0.57% and the Nasdaq rising 2.31%.
🔥 Several major technology companies gained more than 20%:
KLA +31%
SanDisk +26%
Intel +25%
Applied Materials +25%
Lam Research +20%
🔽 Notable declines were seen in Oracle (-13% after earnings), Alibaba Group (-6%), Microsoft (-6%), and Palantir (-5%).
🪙 Bitcoin gained 3% for the week, currently trading at $67,100. Ethereum rose 2.8%, currently trading around $1,760.
📰 On Wednesday, one of the key inflation indicators – the CPI – was released. Annual inflation has accelerated for the third consecutive month, reaching 4.2% in May. Producer inflation (PPI) rose 1.1% month-over-month (forecast +0.7%) and accelerated to 6.5% year-over-year – the highest since November 2022.
👱♂️ On Friday, SpaceX successfully held its IPO. On the first day of trading, shares rose 19.3%, and the company's market capitalization exceeded $2T. Elon Musk became the first dollar trillionaire in history, with a net worth of approximately $1.1T – about 3% of US GDP. He can be compared to Rockefeller, whose fortune in 1918 was equivalent to roughly 2% of GDP. His company, Standard Oil, at that time effectively dictated energy prices for the entire country.
🤝 On Monday, the US and Iran announced that they had reached a peace agreement.
“This Great Deal will bring Peace and Security to the whole Region. Many presidents have tried to make Peace with Iran, and all have failed before me. The Leaders of the Region have, for the first time, found a President who can help them achieve real Peace. With the opening of the Strait upon the signing of the Deal on Friday, for purposes of mine removal, oil will flow on both ends again for the Region, and the World!” Trump wrote.
📌 The main event this week is the Fed's interest rate meeting on Wednesday. The market estimates the probability of a 25 basis point rate cut at just 1.5%. At the press conference, new Fed Chairman Kevin Warsh may discuss how he intends to combat inflation.
On Friday, the US celebrates Juneteenth, and markets will be closed. There will be very few earnings reports. Notable reports include Jabil, CarMax, Accenture, and Kroger. Add them to Favorites: https://go.utex.io/utex-post | 2 228 |

SpaceX is pricing at $135 per share this Friday, aiming to raise a record $75B at a $1.75–1.8T valuation. If everything goes to plan, that makes it the eighth-largest company in the world by market cap. That’s a loss-making business, for a second. “It's Probably Overpriced” — as Benjamin Graham used to decode the IPO acronym.
Jay Ritter, Mr. IPO at the University of Florida, analyzed 9,000 listings going back to 1975 and found that 60% of IPO stocks returned somewhere between -50% and 0% over the next three years. Only 16% ever doubled.
The IPO of the century, but there are caveats 🔎
Morningstar puts SpaceX's fair value at $780B, 2.2× below the IPO price. Even in their most optimistic scenario involving Starship and orbital data centers, they get to $1.97T at best, and with low probability.
Goldman Sachs, the lead underwriter, makes more money when deals price high and attract strong demand, so their $1.8T valuation is likely not without bias.
Musk is simultaneously CEO, CTO, and chairman 👱♂️
His shares carry 10 votes each, giving him 85% of voting power while owning around 41% of the stock. Challenging his decisions will be, to put it mildly, an uphill battle.
IPO with no lockup 🔓
There's no standard 180-day selling restriction here. Early investors can exit in stages, for example after the first quarterly report, and there will be plenty looking to take profits.
Why the price could still soar 🚀
Index providers have changed their rules and will add SpaceX to the Nasdaq 100 and FTSE Russell without the usual one-year waiting period. That turns index funds into forced buyers in the first few weeks at whatever price. Active managers see this coming. Downing's Simon Evan-Cook, for example, plans to buy at IPO and offload to passive funds once they're required to buy at market.
Jim Cramer sees a possible short-term surge to $4T.
Ron Baron of Baron Capital plans to put in $1B and never sell, expecting a $10–30T valuation in 10–15 years.
What to buy instead 📌
Suppliers:
🔘STMicroelectronics (makes chips for Starlink),
🔘Texas Instruments, Carpenter Technology, and Howmet Aerospace provide materials and aerospace components to SpaceX.
Other space stocks: Intuitive Machines, AST SpaceMobile, Rocket Lab, Planet Labs.
Or the Tema Space Innovators ETF (NASA), which already holds SpaceX.

| 20 | ❓Futures on UTEX — Q&A with product director, Sergey Mikheev
Is $100 enough to trade futures?
Not really. You'll want at least $500 to trade comfortably.
A micro gold contract is $4,500. At $100, you're looking at 45x leverage — and just a 1.3% move against you is enough to get wiped out.
How are perp prices formed?
Perpetuals are priced off the nearest CME contracts.
Is there funding on UTEX?
No — just an overnight fee. Let’s compare. Say you bought 1 micro natural gas contract for $3,350 and the trade goes against you.
🖤 On Hyperliquid, funding hits at 0.033% of your position every hour — $1.10 an hour, or $26 a day.
❤️🔥 On UTEX, you only pay the overnight fee: 0.0194%, or $0.65 per night.
Why isn't futures trading round-the-clock?
Because UTEX runs on CME hours, and the CME has scheduled breaks.
When the CME is closed, liquidity elsewhere dries up — and that's when manipulation happens. For instance, Binance and Hyperliquid never pause. On the night of May 11th, during a CME break, NATGAS spiked almost 7% and flushed out a ton of positions. But none of that touched UTEX traders.
Why trade futures at all?
To catch moves after the stock market closes. And for arbitrage.
Can you lower commissions?
Already did! Micro contract commissions on gold, silver, copper, euro, natural gas, crude oil, SPY, and NASDAQ have been cut from $5 to $1.50–2.
