The Ruling On Wearing Loose or Tight Trousers 📩Question📩 The Questioner says:⤵️ “Is it permissible to wear loose trousers without an izār?” 📨Answered by📨 🎙Ash-Shaykh Abee Abdirahman Yahya Ibn Ali Al-Hajooree ((حفظه الله)) The Shaykh answers:⤵️ “Trousers are not from the clothing Of the Muslims. Trousers are from the clothing of the disbelievers. Neither the Prophet ((ﷺ,)) nor his Companions, nor anyone from the virtuous generations wore them. Rather, only a number of years ago, the Muslims took them from the disbelievers, and they became widespread in the Muslim lands. Otherwise, they are not from the clothing of the Muslims. Whether they are tight which is worse or whether they are loose, they are still trousers. Whether tight or loose, they are trousers. Therefore, it is not appropriate to wear trousers, neither loose nor tight. And you have, all praise is due to Allaah, the qameeṣ (long shirt/thawb), and how beautiful it is as clothing! Indeed, Allaah is Beautiful and loves beauty. Trousers are a disfigurement; they are not beauty. They disfigure [one’s appearance]. And likewise:⤵️ ‘Indeed, in the Messenger of Allaah you have an excellent example.’ And he ((ﷺ)) Said:⤵️ ‘Wear white garments from among your clothes, and shroud your dead in them, for they are among the purest and best of your garments.’ So why would you disfigure yourself? You should seek to follow the Prophet ((ﷺ)) in his condition and his statements. Wear what he wore and what he instructed [you] to wear. As for wanting to follow the Westerners, thinking that this is beautification this is disfigurement. Neither tight nor loose. Tight trousers are worse.
