Uruqtree - a new resource for Turkic Y-DNA research is now online. This platform collects and organizes individual and academic Y-DNA results from Turkic countries and Turkic-related communities. Important paternal lineages are labeled where possible, including tribes, clans, dynasties, and other historically significant groups. Its purpose is to make the genetic and historical connections between Turkic peoples easier to understand, both across wider regions and within internal communities. More results, lineage labels, maps, and features will be added as the project develops. Explore the platform and follow the updates if you are interested in Turkic genealogy, tribal lineages, population history, and Y-DNA research. https://uruqtree.com For contact: https://x.com/Azgesantde

R-YP1456. 🗡️ Georgian DNA Project

Haplogroup Distribution of Uzbeks from Southern Kazakhstan - 27 Y-STR Loci This article presents a population dataset of 27 Y-chromosomal short tandem repeat (Y-STR) loci obtained from 501 unrelated Uzbek males residing in southern Kazakhstan. Samples were collected from four geographic locations: Saryagash District (N = 79), Sayram District (N = 213), Taraz (N = 70), and Turkistan (N = 139). Haplogroup prediction based on Y-STR haplotypes showed that the paternal gene pool is mainly represented by haplogroups R1a (21.6%) and C2 (21.4%), followed by J2, R1b, N1, O2, and Q. Facial reconstruction of a 2,400-year-old Scythian from Serbki kurgan, Odesa region, Ukraine The Scythians, also known as the Saka, were an Iranic-speaking people who originated in the regions of Minusinsk, the Altai, Tuva, Mongolia, and Xinjiang. Their westward migration is linked to the broader development of steppe nomadic cultures. In the Pontic-Caspian steppe, the Chernogorovka horizon (10th-8th c. BC) is considered the earliest “pre-Scythian” stage, followed by the Novocherkassk phase (8th-7th c. BC), after which the Classical Scythian culture appears. Their migration and settlement in the West led to admixture with various local populations, depending on their location and time period, including the late Srubnaya, Kobanians, para-Balto-Slavs, Greeks, Thracians, and others.
