Daily Sprout 🌱 (16 July) The S&P 500 closed higher and the Dow Jones climbed to a record high as Fed Chair Jerome Powell expressed confidence that inflation is in retreat. STI ⬆️ 0.06% HSI ⬇️ 1.52% NKY <Closed> S&P500 ⬆️ 0.28% Nasdaq ⬆️ 0.40% DJIA ⬆️ 0.53% What's Sprouting 🌱 Yangzijiang Shipbuilding has entered into an agreement with the local government of Jingjiang City in China’s Jiangsu Province to acquire land for the setting up of a new clean energy ship manufacturing base. Yangzijiang Shipbuilding said it plans to invest an estimate three billion yuan (S$554.3 million) in capital expenditures over the next two years to complete this project. 🌱SIA reported a 7.2% year-on-year growth in passenger traffic in June, with demand driven by the mid-year school holidays and summer travel season. STI ⬆️ 0.65% HSI ⬆️ 2.59% NKY ⬇️ 2.45% S&P500 ⬆️ 0.55% Nasdaq ⬆️ 0.63% DJIA ⬆️ 0.62% What's Sprouting 🌱 OCBC’s offer for Great Eastern Holdings (GEH) closed on 12 July with OCBC holding 93.52% of GEH. As a result, GEH will be suspended on 15 July, but GEH shareholders who did not accept the offer will have a right to require OCBC to buy them out at the offer price. 🌱 Singtel’s Thai associate Advanced Info Service (AIS) said that it is “not obligated” to pay the additional revenue share claimed by the National Telecom Public Company (NT) after the Thai Supreme Administrative Court dismissed (NT)’s appeal on 12 July. 🌱 Lendlease REIT’s CEO said that the REIT is looking at assets in the eastern part of Singapore for acquisition as it remains focused on the Singapore market and prudent on its expansion strategy. 💬 Discuss this @BeansproutSG 🔈 Join @BeansproutAnnouncement for latest insights!

Daily Sprout 🌱 (12 July) The S&P 500 closed lower with losses led by mega cap tech stocks as investors rotated out of outperformers into underbought equities. The market value of the Magnificent Seven stocks saw the largest one-day decline in nearly two years. STI ⬆️ 0.44% HSI ⬆️ 2.08% NKY ⬆️ 0.94% S&P500 ⬇️ 0.88% Nasdaq ⬇️ 1.18% DJIA ⬆️ 0.08% What's Sprouting 🌱 The US consumer price index (CPI) in June fell by 0.1% compared to the previous month, strengthening investor confidence of a Fed interest rate cut in September. 🌱 Singapore’s economy grew 2.9% year on year in the second quarter of 2024, exceeding economists’ expectations of a 2.7% growth. Daily Sprout 🌱 (11 July) The S&P 500 reached another all-time high after Fed Chairman Jerome Powell indicated that the central bank will not wait until inflation hit 2% before considering a rate cut. STI ⬆️ 0.99% HSI ⬇️ 0.29% NKY ⬆️ 1.18% S&P500 ⬆️ 1.02% Nasdaq ⬆️ 1.18% DJIA ⬆️ 1.09% What's Sprouting 🌱 Keppel DC REIT has agreed to acquire a shell and core data centre in Tokyo, Japan for S$201 million. The acquisition is estimated to be completed in the third quarter, and will mark Keppel DC REIT’s maiden entry into Japan. Upon completion, the acquisition is expected to be 1.1% accretive to distribution per unit (DPU) 🌱 Nanofilm has attributed its share price surge of 10% on 10 July to an announcement that its subsidiary Sydrogen Energy had entered into an exclusive collaborative partnership with Shanghai Hydrogen Propulsion Technology for the development of a 250 kilowatt hydrogen fuel cell power module system for use in the shipping industry. 🌱 SATS has restructured its gateway services business to form two new business units - Singapore Hub and Gateway Services Asia Pacific.
