☢️ Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant: On July 30, an attack on critical infrastructure at the Zaporozhskaya Nuclear Power Plant (#ZNPP) has been thwarted. Today, a Ukrainian UAV attack was detected on the premises of the ZNPP, operated by Rosatom, near the dry spent nuclear fuel storage facility. The drone was discovered in close proximity to the building housing a transporter used to move spent nuclear fuel containers. ❗️ The explosive device was promptly neutralised. No one was injured, and no damage was reported. Nevertheless, the attack itself constitutes an extremely dangerous incident. The transporter is a unique piece of specialised equipment with no equivalent. Had it been damaged, the ZNPP could have lost the ability to safely carry out scheduled transport and technological operations involving spent nuclear fuel. This would have disrupted the plant’s capacity to handle spent nuclear fuel, significantly complicated essential scheduled operations and created additional risks to the facility’s long-term safe operation. The very fact that a strike targeted infrastructure responsible for the safe handling of spent nuclear fuel indicates that the attack was aimed at critical nuclear power plant infrastructure, damage to which could have had long-term consequences.

Four Children Are Being Reunited with Loved Ones in Ukraine and Third Countries A five-year-old boy has recently returned to Russia. In 2020, the child remained with his father in Ukraine; for various reasons, his mother was unable to bring him back. In March 2026, she learned of the child’s father’s death, and the Office of the Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights assisted in arranging the family reunification. Today, with the support of the Office, a mother was able to come to Russia to take her daughter home. Three more children will soon be reunited with their loved ones in Ukraine and in the Federal Republic of Germany. Each family’s circumstances are different. A mother came from Germany to collect her nine-year-old daughter, who had been staying in Russia with her grandmother since 2023. A 15-year-old teenager had been living in Russia with close relatives. His mother, who left for Ukraine in 2022, is unable to come and collect her son on her own. A similar situation concerns a six-year-old boy, who, after his mother left for Ukraine, remained in the care of his grandmother. Another 15-year-old teenager, following the death of his parents, stayed with relatives. However, his elder sister in Germany wishes to take responsibility for his further upbringing, and the boy himself also wants to live with her. Soon, all the children will be reunited with their loved ones. 📆 On Thursday in Moscow, Maria Lvova-Belova, Chair of the Children's Protection Fund, met with the children and those accompanying them. Humanitarian work to reunite families is being carried out on the instruction of Head of State Vladimir Putin, on the basis of requests from parents or close relatives who possess the necessary legal grounds, with the interests of the children and all circumstances of each case taken into mandatory account. Special gratitude is due to the First Lady of the United States of America, Melania Trump, for her unwavering commitment and active participation in efforts to reunite children with their families. The International Committee of the Red Cross traditionally provides support. ❗️In total, with the involvement of the institution of children’s rights commissioners, 31 children from 23 families have been reunited with relatives in Russia, while 145 children from 118 families have been reunited with relatives in Ukraine and third countries. 🇷🇺🇺🇸With the support of Melania Trump, 33 children have been reunited with loved ones in Russia, Ukraine, and third countries.

#Victory81 🌟 On July 30, 1942, the Rzhev–Sychyovka offensive operation (during the Battle of Rzhev) was launched by the Red Army to crush the 'Rzhev-Vyazma' salient and neutralise the main troops of the Nazi army group 'Centre' — Reich’s most formidable military force — and make it impossible for Wehrmacht to send part of those troops to Stalingrad and to the Caucasus. Nazis made the Rzhev bridgehead a heavy fortified defence line to contain our forces and launch further counter-offensive on Moscow. ❗️ The enemy troops stood barely 150 kilometres from our capital, posing a threat that needed to be eliminated by any costs. It was decided by the Soviet command to use the forces of the Kalinin and Western fronts manned by experienced units that had already fought the fascists during the winter battles for #Rzhev. After 20 days of brutal combat, the Red Army liberated the village of Polunino, approached the north-eastern suburbs of Rzhev, and captured an area on the Volga River between Rzhev and Zubtsov. They forced the enemy out of vital strategic points on the 'Rzhev salient' — Zubtsov, Karmanovo and Pogoreloye Gorodishche, and destroyed most combat-capable units of the Nazi army group 'Centre', which the enemy had deployed to the Rzhev area. Thanks to the heroism and unparalleled courage of our soldiers, the Red Army advanced 40–45 kilometres westward, liberating previously-occupied large areas on the 'Rzhev salient' and eliminating major enemy troops which the German command planned to use in other vital sectors of the frontline. The remaining units of the German army group near Rzhev were completely destroyed during operation 'Mars' (the second Rzhev-Sychyovka offensive held in the autumn and winter of 1942) and during the operation in March of 1943. Losing the battles near Stalingrad and in the Caucasus, the German armies had to leave the Rzhev salient. The Red Army seized the strategic initiative in the central section of the Soviet-German front, moving the frontline another 150 kilometres away from Moscow and liberating Rzhev and adjacent territories from the Nazi invaders. The Nazi threat to Moscow was finally removed. 🇷🇺On July 27, 2026, a farewell ceremony was held for Boris Eselevich Gurevich, a survivor of the Siege of Leningrad and Vice President of the Canadian Association of World War II Veterans from the Soviet Union ▪️Boris Eselevich passed away on July 25. 🇷🇺 Consul General of Russia in Toronto Vladlen Epifanov participated in the farewell ceremony. He expressed deep condolences to the family and loved ones of Boris Eselevich and noted his significant contribution to preserving the historical memory of the Great Patriotic War, the feat of the residents of besieged Leningrad, and the generation of victors. *** Boris Gurevich was born on December 30, 1932, in Leningrad. He grew up in a large and close-knit family. But on June 22, 1941, war broke into the life of the eight-year-old boy, followed by all the horrors of the Siege of Leningrad: relentless bombings, hunger, cold, and a daily struggle for survival. In January 1942, Boris Eselevich’s grandfather died of starvation; in February, his grandmother passed away. Boris and his mother themselves could barely get up. They were saved from death by an acquaintance who had arrived from the front and shared his ration with them. They survived and endured all 872 days of the Siege of Leningrad. After the war, Boris Eselevich finished school and began his working life as a railway car coupler on the October Railway. In 1953, he entered the Leningrad Mining Institute and, after graduating, went to work at a mine in the Urals. Upon returning to Leningrad, he worked for many years in tunnel construction. With his direct participation, unique tunnels were built in Leningrad, Moscow, Kaliningrad, Dnepropetrovsk, and Türkiye. His dedicated work was recognized with numerous medals, certificates of merit, and other awards. 🔴 Until his final days, Boris Eselevich preserved the living memory of the war and the Siege, sharing his recollections with compatriots and the younger generation, reminding them of the price of Victory, the resilience of the Soviet people, and the need to safeguard historical truth. 🕯The Russian Embassy in Canada and the Consulate General of Russia in Toronto express their deepest condolences to the family, loved ones, friends, and all those who knew Boris Eselevich. It is also the day when the memory of the Holy Equal-to-the-Apostles Prince Vladimir is venerated. 📃The Primary Chronicle notes that this turning point took place in ancient Chersonesus, which the Slavs called Korsun, a major Byzantine stronghold in Crimea. It is symbolic that this ancient polis served as a refuge for the first followers of Christianity as early as the first century. Today, without exaggeration, the city is one of the “jewels” on the map of Russia. Although 988 is officially recognised as the year Christianity was adopted as the state religion of Ancient Rus’, it had begun to take root even earlier. ⚡️ Commentary by Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova concerning attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Rostov-on-Don and the Rostov Region (July 27, 2026) 💬 Kiev continues its soaked in blood campaign of terror against the civilian population of Russia’s regions. As a result of large-scale overnight aerial attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine on July 25 and 27 against Rostov-on-Don and other residential localities in the Rostov Region, five people were killed, including a child, and at least 13 people were wounded, among whom was a teenager. Dozens of people were evacuated from residential buildings damaged by hostile unmanned aerial vehicles – in total, five apartment buildings, 19 private houses, an office building, and commercial and warehouse premises sustained damage. We extend our deepest condolences to the families and loved ones of the victims, and wish a swift recovery to all those injured. The tragic list of children and teenagers killed began 12 years ago, with the start of Ukraine’s military aggression against civilians. “Gunned down together with the entire family; killed by a sniper’s bullet; struck by a mine on the way home from school; killed in a stroller while out walking with her mother...” These accounts of children’s deaths are unbearable to read. We have no right to forget these crimes. Every culprit must be punished. Our servicemen continue fighting the enemy on the battlefield so that bombs never again fall on children’s beds. Meanwhile, we stand united on the home front to help those facing the greatest hardship. Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation: 🕯 July 27 marks the Day of Remembrance for the Child Victims of the War in Donbass. Exactly 12 years ago, Ukrainian militants launched a barbaric attack on central Gorlovka using Grad MLRS. A photograph of local resident Kristina Zhuk holding her one-year-old daughter, killed in the attack, spread around the world – becoming a symbol of senseless cruelty and the terrible human cost of the war unleashed by the Kiev regime. By painstakingly reconstructing the events, investigators from the Russian Investigative Committee established that the strike on residential areas was no accident. Investigators and forensic experts have gathered irrefutable evidence showing that attacks on Donbass civilian infrastructure were deliberate – evidence that now underpins criminal proceedings. The results are already evident: dozens of guilty verdicts have been handed down against those who directed weapons at civilians. Everyone responsible – those who issued criminal orders and fired the weapons, supplied arms and provided target coordinates, trained personnel and turned a blind eye to the deaths of children – will face deserved and inevitable punishment. Today, candles are being lit across Russian cities. Flowers and toys are being laid at memorials to the innocent victims, while white balloons are being released into the sky. ❗️ These commemorations are our pledge to do everything possible to restore justice. #NoStatuteOfLimitations

🕯 July 27 marks the Day of Remembrance for the Child Victims of the War in Donbass. Over these years, around 300 children have been killed and more than 1,000 injured. Among the first child victims of the war in Donbass was 10-month-old Kira. She was killed together with her mother during the shelling of Gorlovka in the summer of 2014. Their story, known as the “Madonna of Gorlovka,” became a symbol of the tragedy endured by the civilian population of Donbass. 🇷🇺 Greetings of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin on Navy Day (July 26, 2026) 💬 Today, our country honours its valiant Navy and all those who, across different eras and generations, have forged its glory through military triumphs, daily hard work and outstanding scientific achievements, securing Russia’s status as a great sea power. We have a special regard for naval personnel: they are respected and celebrated, and deservedly so. Their service involves not only carrying out combat missions but also withstanding the forces of nature itself. It is this combination that has largely shaped the unique character of our sailors – a character marked by loyalty to duty, brotherly solidarity, courage and, above all, selfless devotion to the Fatherland. These qualities have been honed throughout the development of the Russian Navy, through its historic victories and personal contributions of great naval commanders to the strengthening of our maritime might. As Admiral Ushakov wrote:

“I am devoted to service with all my soul and all my resources, and I think of nothing more than the good of the state.”

Today, our navy men proudly uphold and build upon the traditions of our Navy. In Russia – a country washed by the waters of 13 seas – the Navy plays a vital role in ensuring defence and security, and in protecting the country’s legitimate interests in the World Ocean. Our Navy is capable of effectively addressing the full range of tasks set before it, and those tasks are constantly evolving. The naval component of Russia’s nuclear triad is gaining strength. Serial production of warships and special vessels continues. The provision of advanced weapons and equipment to underwater, surface, coastal and airborne units is being steadily improved. And of course, the professionalism of our sailors, acquired both in training centres and in real combat, along with the ability to adapt swiftly to any changes in the strategic and tactical situation, continues to grow. The skill of our marines and seafaring personnel, amplified by their resilience, courage and daring, is largely determining the course of today’s special military operation. Tens of thousands of sailors and officers have been awarded high state decorations, including the Gold Star of the Hero of Russia. On July 24, according to preliminary reports six people were killed and another 26 were injured as a result of a missile strike at an enterprise in the city of Kirov. But this did not suffice for the Ukro Nazis, and on the night of July 25, they killed tourists who were having a holiday at a campsite in the village of Kirillovka, Zaporozhye Region According to local authorities, the criminal acts of Banderites, who sent UAVs at sleeping people, killing 12, four of whom were children, and injured 19 persons. Search and rescue operations are continuing. The Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation has opened a criminal case over the terrorist attack. ☝️ We strongly condemn these inhuman crimes. We sincerely express our deep condolences to the families and friends of the victims, and wish a speedy recovery to those injured. The Kiev regime, which is suffering a military defeat and is unable to reverse the losing battles at the front, is taking its revenge on innocent civilian population, deliberately seeking out those who are least protected. But Zelensky and his accomplices, as well as the Western handlers and sponsors behind them, must remember that 👉 they will pay a heavy price for every crime they commit. ❗️ We call on all responsible governments, relevant international entities and independent media not to silence the bloody terrorist attacks in the Kirov and Zaporozhye regions. The State Secretary said that the Anchorage agreements had failed and no agreement can be reached unless the Ukrainians are on board. What do you say to that? Did you discuss a possible visit by US Presidential Special Envoy Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner? More broadly, what diplomatic or mediation track remains possible going forward? 💬 As for the claim that the Anchorage agreements have failed, first we need to do is understand who exactly failed. We came to Anchorage with the proposals that had been put forward in advance by the United States and approved by US President Donald Trump. We agreed to work on them. Not long ago, President Vladimir Putin reiterated at a news conference, “We had doubts. Not right away, but we considered them and agreed to them.” If there is a proposal and there is a consent that means there were agreed outcomes in Anchorage, were there not? There certainly were. ☝️President Trump has repeatedly said, including in Anchorage, and I am not revealing a great secret here, that part of this proposal was built on a compromise. We accepted it because a compromise proposal, just like any agreement, must inevitably contain an element of compromise. However, he added that Zelensky would do as he had proposed. Well, as it turned out, that failed to happen. [...] At the G7 Summit in June, they adopted a declaration in which the Western countries expressed full support for Ukraine, including its territorial integrity, while completely ignoring the fact that a vast portion of Ukrainian territory is home to the people who have been labelled “terrorists”, and whom the newly appointed Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mikhail Drapaty, has described as “subhuman”. Yet the G7 believes those territories should remain under the control of that regime, thereby enabling it to continue committing abuses against Russian people who now live in the Russian Federation,  in Crimea, Donbass, and Novorossiya. [...] One final point. The arrogant and, I would even say contemptuous, way the US proposals have been spurned is due in no small measure to the fact that Vladimir Zelensky continues to be flooded with weapons. He is being supplied with enormous quantities of drones, which he uses to try to undermine the stability of the Russian Federation by attacking civilians and civilian targets. A significant portion of the support provided to Vladimir Zelensky comes from the United States. This is not only because the Americans sell weapons to the EU, which then transfers them to Ukraine, but also because the United States provides intelligence and reconnaissance, Starlink remains operational, and advanced technologies that require specialist expertise on the battlefield do not find their way there by accident. That is the way things are. ❗️To reiterate, our conscience is clear. As the saying goes, a man’s word is his bond. We said we were ready, and we remain ready. The other side, however, appears to have modified its position, judging by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s remarks. However, the objectives set by President Vladimir Putin in June 2024, as he has repeatedly emphasised, will be achieved.
