“ASIO boss Mike Burgess says the agency has warned prominent Jewish Australians they could be assassinated by Iranian operatives on home soil.
The nation's domestic spy chief told broadcaster Neil Mitchell that while he was not aware of an immediate threat, he held “grave concerns that will happen one day in our country".
"I wouldn't rule out the possibility that Iran would want to kill prominent Jewish Australians," the director-general of the security agency said.
“And it's not because of Australia; it's because of their hatred of Jews.
The warning came after ASIO last year revealed Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps was behind the arson attacks on Melbourne's Adass Israel Synagogue and a Jewish business in Sydney, prompting the government to expel the country's ambassador and three other Iranian officials.”

The UK government is advising the population to start preparing for severe disruption to daily life. They are recommending citizens stockpile canned food and drinking water, strengthen civic resilience, prepare for cyberattacks and plan for the possibility of war.
Cabinet Office minister Darren Jones announced a public awareness campaign later in 2026. US airlines have started cancelling flights due to high fuel costs, per Reuters.
According to Reuters, the fuel shock is "reshaping flying."

American Airlines, United Airlines and Southwest Airlines are now cancelling certain flights.
They are scaling back flight capacity and adjusting schedules due to the sharp surge in fuel costs.
American Airlines says the latest jump in fuel prices alone is adding about $1 billion to its fourth-quarter costs.
US jet fuel is now at $4.70 a gallon, up 108% since the war with Iran began.
