The UK government is advising the population to start preparing for severe disruption to daily life. They are recommending citizens stockpile canned food and drinking water, strengthen civic resilience, prepare for cyberattacks and plan for the possibility of war. Cabinet Office minister Darren Jones announced a public awareness campaign later in 2026.
