| 10 | "When one reads the writings of the elite themselves, one is often surprised by how remarkably straightforward they can be about their plans. These works tend to be rather dry reading for the average person and are generally not intended for anyone other than the elitists and their subordinates. For those of us who study politics behind the scenes, however, they are worth their weight in gold, as they sometimes provide some of the clearest evidence that a relatively small group of power-hungry and greedy elites has governed—and continues to govern—the world.
In his 1913 book The New Freedom, President Woodrow Wilson wrote a number of interesting observations about politics, economics, and society. He also spoke candidly about who really held power, and it was certainly not the elected politicians. This may seem ironic, considering that Wilson himself was the president who, on December 23 of that same year, signed the Federal Reserve Act, which would later become one of the elite’s most important tools in their exploitation of the world’s people."

| 11 | "Professor Quigley revealed in the book Tragedy and Hope that Rhodes’s secret society and its American branch exercised much of their influence through five American newspapers: the New York Times, the New York Herald Tribune, the Christian Science Monitor, The Boston Evening (Transcript), and the Washington Post. He also noted that the editor of the Christian Science Monitor served as the principal correspondent for the Round Table.
The latter refers to Rhodes’s Round Table groups—that is, the outer organizations that worked to implement the plans of the inner circle. Professor Quigley further wrote:
”There grew up in the twentieth century a power structure between London and New York which penetrated deeply into the universities, the press, and foreign policy. In England, the Round Table Group was its center, while in the United States it was J.P. Morgan & Company.”"

| 12 | "The European colonial powers had been carving up the African continent throughout the nineteenth century. The French, Belgians, and especially the British did their utmost to seize both land and resources, while at the same time destroying many of the traditions that Africans had followed for centuries. Belgium’s King Leopold II, who administered the Congo, systematically exploited the region for its valuable resources. All protests were brutally suppressed, and between 1885 and 1912, an estimated more than ten million people were killed.
The British appetite for land and natural resources also affected the Boers, the farmers and craftsmen from the Netherlands and France who had emigrated to South Africa in the seventeenth century and considered themselves superior to the Black population. After decades of British rule and wars with indigenous peoples, things appeared to settle down. However, when large quantities of gold and diamonds were discovered during the 1870s and 1880s, the region was flooded by British fortune-seekers. The Boer people once again stood in the way of British ambitions, and between 1880 and 1881 war broke out. The Boers defended themselves skillfully and secured a measure of self-government."

The gap between rich and poor had been widening for years, socialists came to power, and chaos prevailed during the so-called Paris Commune of 1871. At the time of his death in 1810, Francis Baring was known as Europe’s foremost merchant. How had he become so wealthy? Professor David Landes provides the answer in his book Dynasties: by financing wars. In Europe, the Barings were known by the nickname ”The Sixth Great Power,” and they were able to influence—and even determine—the fate of entire nations, Professor Landes explains. A tradition that has continued into modern times.
Since the establishment of the private note-issuing bank, the Banque de France, in 1800, financial power in France had rested in the hands of approximately ten to twelve Protestant banking families, led by Mirabaud, Hottinger, Mallet, and Neuflize. Historian Professor Carroll Quigley writes in his monumental work Tragedy and Hope that all of these families were deeply involved in the agitations that led up to the French Revolution and that by 1811 they had moved into opposition.
