Quran - Surah No. 49 الحجرات
Ayah No. 11
Translation:
O you who have believed, neither should men mock other men, it may be that these are better than they; nor should women mock other women, it may be that these are better than they. Do not taunt one another among yourselves, nor call one another by nicknames. It is an evil thing to be called by a bad name after faith. Those who fail to avoid this are wrongdoers.
It was narrated that Abu Jabirah bin Dahhak said: "(Allah's saying) "Nor insult one another by nicknames(Surah Al Hujarat 49: 11)" was revealed concerning us, the Ansar. When the Prophet(ﷺ) came to us, a man among us would have two or three names, and the Prophet(ﷺ) might call him by one of those names, only to be told: "O Messenger of Allah(ﷺ), he does not like that name." Then: "Nor insult one another by nicknames." was revealed."

Qiyam al-Layl is an act of worship that connects the heart to Allah Almighty during a time when sounds have subsided, eyes are closed, and those asleep turn on their beds

Be constant in listening to the Quran; for if the heart is deprived of the Quran, it goes blind and can hardly perceive a path to the truth.

Say, "O My servants who have transgressed against themselves [by sinning], do not despair of the mercy of Allah . Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful." -Surah Az-Zumar, Ayah 53

The will of Allah is broken into 2 types: 1. Al Iradah Al Kawniyah : Is the universal will (كون) and it includes everything in the world whether it’s good or bad, obedience or sin and bad occurs as a test from Allah of free will of humans, not because Allah loves it or commands it rather Allah warns us against it جلا وعلا alongside other events like earthquakes etc, So in summary it’s more related to His power and knowledge and creation not His love or approval. 2. Al Iradah Al Sharieyah : the legislative Shar’ie will of Allah, this type refers to what Allah جلا وعلا loves and commands like the obedience, faith, justice and good deeds, this type only includes what is good and pleasing to Allah. This is a standard categorisation in regards to the will of Allah and very beneficial for the average Muslim, especially in a day and age where ‘atheists’ really try use the problem of evil (مسألة الشر) to try and go after religions. Sharh of Sheikh Hisham Al Tahiri of Tahawiyah.

O Allah, I ask You for knowledge
which is beneficial and sustenance
which is good, and deeds which
are acceptable.

Rasoolullah ﷺ was asked:
A man said: Ya Rasoolullah ﷺ, should I dedicate one-third of my supplication to sending Salat upon you?’
He ﷺ said: ‘Yes, if you wish. He asked: ‘Then two-thirds?’ He ﷺ said: ‘Yes.’ He then said: ‘Then all of my supplication?’ Rasoolullah ﷺ replied: Then Allah will suffice you in all that concerns you from the matters of your worldly life and your Hereafter.

Imam Ibn al Qayyim رحمه الله said :
Whoever constantly engages in tasbih (glorifying Allah), his worries will be relieved. Whoever constantly engages in hamd (praising Allah), blessings will continue upon him. And whoever constantly seeks forgiveness (istighfar), closed doors will be opened for him

O`Allah, show us the beauty of Your wisdom in what You have concealed, and the grace of Your planning in what You have delayed. Make every hardship we face a door to Your mercy, and every delay a blessing that brings joy to our hearts.

The prayer that you find burdensome now... You don't know how much joy they will bring you in the Hereafter. Don't let the hustle and bustle of life distract you from praying the Dawn Prayer.

He replied:

(Everything that has tormented souls is an expiation for sins.) Sheikh Abdul Razzaq Al-Badr - may Allah preserve him - said: Know now that every pain you have gone through is an expiation for sins, every small and large one, every bitterness that no one else felt except you, every thought that tormented you and you couldn't complain to anyone about your situation, even that peace that some greeted with total indifference, even the feelings you gave sincerely and were not appreciated, every glance away from you that hurt you, every taunt and mockery said behind your back, every pain that afflicted you; no matter how insignificant you may think it is, and apply this to everything. • Hadiths of Morality (356).

A NEGLECTED ACT DURING SAHOOR
"AND IN THE PRE-DAWN HOURS THEY SEEK FORGIVENESS"
Seeking forgiveness and doing Istighfar is a Sunnah that many people neglect at the time of sahoor, especially in Ramadan, a time in which many people are blessed to be awake in the pre-dawn hours.
