#PSA #BPLRT will be closed on 20 and 27 September 2026 for final phase of renewal works.
The full-day closures will facilitate engineering works and reduce the need for additional service adjustments, as we complete the final stage of the BPLRT renewal programme.
These will be the last planned service closures before the BPLRT renewal programme is completed by end-2026, which will deliver a more reliable BPLRT system for commuters.
Affected commuters can take regular bus services (922, 972 & 963) or Shuttle Bus B* (every 5-10 minutes) to travel.
*Regular LRT fares apply.

👮♂️🚨 With regular tip-offs from the National Private Hire Vehicles Association and National Taxi Association, 8 drivers were recently caught providing illegal cross-border ride-hailing services at the land checkpoints and Changi area. All their vehicles were impounded.
⚠️ Drivers caught providing illegal ride-hailing services may face up to $3,000 fines and/or 6 months’ jail, with possible vehicle forfeiture.

We’ve just awarded a contract to enhance the road network around Dawson estate in Queenstown.
The works will improve accessibility and connectivity in the area, while providing better cycling connections to the surrounding park connectors. Key improvements include:
• A new road extension of Kay Siang Road between Dawson Road and Queensway
• Widening of Kay Siang Road (between Tanglin Road and Dawson Road) and Tanglin Road (between Margaret Drive and Kay Siang Road) from dual 1-lane to dual 2-lane
• New cycling paths along Kay Siang Road to connect to the Alexandra Canal and surrounding park connectors
🏗️Works are expected to start progressively from the late 2026 and to be completed by 2030.

🚨👮 Last month, our #AMEOs spotted 310 offences and impounded 100 non-compliant devices during various enforcement operations targeting errant cyclists and device users. #UpLorry
In a separate operation, we also seized the device involved in the 13 Jul incident, where two individuals were seen riding a PMD at high speeds in the KPE tunnel. The device was seized within 3 days of the incident. Investigations are ongoing.
⚠️ We’ll continue to take firm action against errant users and retailers to keep our paths safe for everyone.

🚕 Taxi Driver’s Vocational Licence (TDVL)
🚗 Private Hire Car Driver’s Vocational Licence (PDVL)
🔁 Conversion of PDVL to TDVL (CTDVL)
The incumbent, Republic Polytechnic (RP), will cease to serve as a testing provider on 16 Sep 2026.
During the transition period, new VL applicants who have completed the required training may be directed to either RP or NYP for the first test. Your training provider will inform you accordingly.
Existing TDVL, PDVL and CTDVL applicants can continue to attend re-tests at RP until 27 Aug 2026. The last date to register for a re-test at RP is 21 Aug 2026. ➡️ More details: https://go.gov.sg/rp-lta

🚨👮 Our #AMEOs continue to conduct regular enforcement operations to protect path users and ensure compliance with the enhanced PMA rules that took effect on 1 June. These include requiring a Certificate of Medical Need for mobility scooter users and a lower speed limit of 6km/h for PMAs.
Over the last 2 months, our officers have engaged over 100 PMA users and detected:
🚫 3 users riding mobility scooters without a valid Certificate of Medical Need or exemption
🚫 5 users speeding on a PMA
🚫 21 cases involving the possession or use of non-UL2272 compliant e-scooters
Alongside enforcement, we’ll continue our engagement and education efforts to promote safe and responsible use of mobility scooters among users.

🚦🚲 Residents can now enjoy safer and more convenient walking journeys to key amenities within their neighbourhood with more barrier-free crossings, longer and more frequent green-man time at signalised crossings.
🚙 There are also other traffic-calming features like reduced traffic speed limits, bus-friendly humps, green markings and treatments to remind motorists to slow down and encourage gracious road behaviour.
👀 Stay tuned as we bring more Friendly Streets to neighbourhoods across Singapore! By 2030, every town will have at least one Friendly Street!

🚇🔧 We’ve awarded the tender to install Hot Axle Box Detection System (HABDS) across all MRT lines to Chengdu Shengkai Co., Ltd. Installation works are expected to commence in 2H 2027 and be completed by 2H 2030.
The HABDS monitors the temperature of axle boxes and gear boxes, and alerts operators to any abnormal temperature increase for early fault detection and recovery. Two complementary systems – Acoustic Detection System and Hot Wheel Detection System – will also be installed with the HABDS, to detect early-stage bearing damage, and wheel and brake-related faults.
Together, these systems are part of our continuing efforts to improve our fault detection capabilities, support preventive and predictive maintenance, and boost safety and reliability of our rail network. 🌟

🚇🌟 Exciting news! We are pleased to announce the alignment and station locations of the Cross Island Line Phase 3 (#CRL3)!
Extending westwards from Jurong Lake District to Gul Circle, CRL3 spans approximately 10km with four underground stations. Here's what commuters can look forward to:
🕐 Time savings of up to 50 minutes travelling to and from the western parts of Singapore
🔄 Two interchange stations connecting to the Jurong Region Line (#JRL) and East-West Line (#EWL)
🚇 Expansion of Singapore's rail network to more than 360km
Construction is expected to commence in 2027, with stations targeted to open by the late 2030s. Together with other ongoing rail expansion projects, the CRL will be Singapore's longest fully underground MRT line at around 67km when completed! 🌟

🚗 Exciting updates for Punggol's autonomous (#AV) shuttle services!
After hearing from residents, LTA has been working with the operators, ComfortDelGro and Grab, to make AV rides more flexible and convenient.
With Grab's upcoming pilot which will commence in the next few months, commuters will be able to book an AV on demand to travel between the existing designated stops on Grab’s Routes 1 and 3. Instead of following a fixed route, the AV will take the most direct path to your destination, providing a more direct and convenient journey. 🛣️
In the meantime, existing fixed-route services will continue to operate alongside the enhanced on-demand service, giving commuters more travel options while continuing to serve those who prefer the fixed routes. 🎉

Planning your journey just got easier 📱🚆✨
From today, commuters will be notified of real-time train disruptions on Google Maps when they search for a journey.
What’s changed? During train disruptions, LTA currently announces via MyTransport and the LTA website if the delay is minor or major, depending on the estimated length of service delay and factors such as the length of the sector affected. While this provides a useful indication of the overall impact, the actual delay experienced varies depending on where each commuter is travelling to and from.
This enhancement builds on our ongoing efforts to improve commuter information, including our centralised train status page at mytransport.sg/trainstatus 💻, improved wayfinding signage on trial at Serangoon MRT station 🚉, and planned service adjustments information on Google Maps.
We hope this will help you make more informed travel decisions on the go.
