THEODOR HEUSS – HISTORY
Theodor Heuss was a German politician, journalist and writer. He was born on 31 January 1884 in Brackenheim, Germany.
He studied history, economics, art history and political science. Later, he worked as a journalist and became active in German politics. He was a member of the German Democratic Party (DDP).
During the Nazi period, Heuss was not allowed to continue his political activities. After the Second World War, he returned to politics and helped to establish the Free Democratic Party (FDP).
In 1948 and 1949, Heuss participated in the work that led to the creation of the German Basic Law (Grundgesetz). In 1949, West Germany was established as the Federal Republic of Germany.
On 12 September 1949, Theodor Heuss was elected the first Federal President of West Germany. He served as president from 1949 to 1959.
As president, Heuss supported democracy, freedom, education and culture. He also worked to improve Germany's reputation after the Nazi period and the Second World War.

Konrad Adenauer – A Brief History
Konrad Adenauer was born on 5 January 1876 in Cologne, Germany. He studied law and later became a successful politician. From 1917 to 1933, he was the mayor of Cologne.
After the Second World War, Adenauer became an important figure in rebuilding Germany. In 1949, when the Federal Republic of Germany (West Germany) was founded, he became its first Federal Chancellor. He remained Chancellor until 1963.
Adenauer worked to strengthen democracy, improve Germany’s economy, and build strong relationships with Western European countries. He also supported cooperation between Germany and France, which helped lay the foundation for European integration.
Konrad Adenauer died on 19 April 1967 at the age of 91. He is remembered as one of the most important politicians in post-war German history.
