😏 Russian authorities have announced that they have opened a criminal case against Telegram founder Pavel Durov, accusing him of facilitating terrorist activity.
According to the statement, Russian investigators intend to place Durov on an international wanted list, but this does not mean he is currently internationally wanted. Any actual international notice would require a separate procedure and is not confirmed at this time.
The announcement also claims that Ukrainian intelligence services allegedly used the Telegram dating bot "Дайвинчик / Leo" to recruit Russian citizens through social engineering and psychological manipulation. Russian officials say dozens of people aged 12–22 were detained in connection with alleged sabotage, arson, and other crimes.

A vulnerability was discovered (and has already been fixed) affecting Japanese accounts, allowing users to purchase Telegram Stars at extremely low prices (for example, 10,000 Stars for around $1.50). As a result, some users used them to buy the most expensive gifts on the internal marketplace.
There is no need to worry. As usual, these gifts remain transfer-restricted, meaning they cannot be sent to external marketplaces (unless they were purchased directly on accounts belonging to third-party marketplaces).
Telegram is likely to roll back these purchases and freeze the accounts that took advantage of the vulnerability 🤓

Telegram for iOS users may encounter an issue where, without Telegram Premium, they are unable to send messages using the Quote formatting.
This is a bug — the feature has not become paid and will be fixed in a future update.
As a workaround, tap Send Without Formatting — the message containing the Quote will be sent successfully.

✍️ Telegram Beta for iOS is now available by invitation only. The old invitation links will be revoked soon.
However, not everyone will be able to join the new beta program. To receive an invitation, you are expected to actively report bugs and provide feedback during testing.

You can add a channel to a Community only if it has up to 10,000 subscribers, and a group only if it has up to 500 members.
As for the overall limits, as mentioned earlier, a Community can contain up to 100 groups and channels combined, as well as up to 100 bots.

I contacted Identity Digital, the registry operator for the .ME domain zone, to request the reason why t.me was placed on "serverHold".
The company has now responded and confirmed that the domain was suspended due to OFAC-related compliance requirements.

Telegram has updated help.getConfig on both the test and production servers, replacing t.me with telegram.me.
The new telegram.me links will now be used automatically when copying links in Telegram.

According to reports, the t.me domain has been blocked by the Donuts registry, the operator of the .me domain.
For now, you can use the alternative telegram.me links instead.
