A UAE-owned & operated Very Large Crude Carrier (VLCC) has been struck by a projectile in the waters of the Strait of Hormuz.
▪️According to information received, the oil tanker "MT ST 3" —registered under IMO number 9220964— was targeted today, October 16, at approximately 17:45 GMT, while in the Strait of Hormuz.
▪️Notably, the vessel’s Automatic Identification System (AIS) had been switched off for about 18 days.
▪️The last signal received from the vessel dates back to around August 26; no positional data has been transmitted since then.
▪️The fact that the AIS was disabled —at a time when tensions in the Strait of Hormuz have reached a peak— adds to the ambiguity surrounding this incident.

🇸🇦🛢Satellite imagery from yesterday: The MBS regime is loading as much oil as its remaining pumping stations can get to the port of Yanbu, before renewed strikes by Yemeni armed forces.
With pumping station No.2 put out of commission last week, around 1-1.5 million barrels of oil per day is estimated to reach Yanbu.
This will put huge extra strain on other pumping stations. Expect to hear about "accidents" at one or more of those soon.

The imagery covers the period from March 3 to May 4 and shows damage to storage tanks and other parts of the facility’s infrastructure.
Colored markers identify storage tanks, pipeline manifolds, buildings and transfer infrastructure.
Confirmed multiple attacks and damage to oil infrastructure in Fujairah, including tank fires and disruptions to crude oil handling operations.
Fujairah Port is located outside the Strait of Hormuz and is strategically important for regional energy exports.
