NEW: U.S. officials say Iran obtained high-resolution satellite imagery from Chinese entities before a July 17 ballistic-missile strike on Muwaffaq Salti Air Base in Jordan that killed three U.S. soldiers and wounded four others.

Officials believe the imagery was connected to the attack and may have helped Iran identify valuable targets more accurately. They have not accused the Chinese government of directly taking part, and the specific Chinese entities involved have not been identified. Source: WSJ

Another Ukrainian MIG-29 destroyed by remote controlled Gerans, this time at Vasylkiv Airbase, southwest of Kyiv: 50°13'47.67"N 30°17'45.44"E Whilst not common (last one was in late June, Voznesensk Airfield, Mykolaiv) these Geran hits are becoming more frequent now that they are near-constantly flying over cities deeper in Ukraine and loitering (doing recon). Ukraine will need to balance how close they keep their jets to Russia to shorten response times to missile/drone attacks and the risk of them being found and destroyed by the ever increasing number of remote controlled Gerans.

Satellite imagery of Al-Azraq air base in Jordan shows what appears to be a strike on a fighter shelter and possible runway craters from Iran's latest ballistic missile barrage. The imagery corroborates CBS reporting that eight F-15s took light damage (returned to service) and one A-10 lost a wing.

🇮🇷❌🇺🇸🇯🇴 – A USAF A-10 'Warthog' was seriously damaged and lost its wing during the last Iranian attack on Muwaffaq Salti Airbase, Jordan, according to a CBS News correspondent. 🏳️🇮🇱🇺🇸🇵🇸⚡️ — Somaliland is prepared to provide up to 1,000 soldiers for the planned US-led International Stabilization Force in Gaza if requested by the U.S. or Israel, President Abdirahman Mohamed Abdullahi said.

“If they ask, we can provide,” he said, adding that while Somaliland is not volunteering, “if they ask me, I am ready.” Abdullahi said Somaliland has an army of around 25,000 soldiers and a coast guard of approximately 1,500 personnel.

🇷🇴 #Romania - 🇷🇺 #Russia: Romania’s intelligence service (SRI) has arrested a Russian citizen suspected of involvement in a Russian-coordinated sabotage operation on Romanian territory. According to SRI, the man had been under surveillance since February and was allegedly instructed by an intermediary to photograph and film strategically important military sites, including Ukrainian Antonov cargo aircraft while they were in Romania. ⚡️🇺🇦🇳🇴 – The plane in which Ukrainian President Zelensky was flying to attend Norwegian King Harald's funeral was "almost struck by a drone" when taking off from Moldova, Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Store said. The incident took place on Tuesday, and no further details were given. @GeoPWatch

Geolocated confirmed vehicle losses have been compiled and released for August 2026. Credit to HeyHeyHayden and LostArmour. In total, Russia lost 31 armoured vehicles whilst Ukraine lost 205. A ratio of 1:6.6 in favour of Russia. Excluding armoured cars and MRAPs, which Ukraine use in a large number behind the front whilst Russia barely does at all, Russia lost 30 vehicles whilst Ukraine lost 98. A ratio of 1:3.3 in favour of Russia. In regard to self-propelled artillery, which is an important indicator of capacity to inflict attrition, Russia lost 10 vehicles whilst Ukraine lost 39. A ratio of 1:3.9 in favour of Russia. No major changes in ratios compared to previous months. Unfortunately, Ukraine is continually on the wrong end of a huge attritional mismatch against a far larger power with a fully mobilised domestic war economy.

The Saraya Al-Quds Brigades (armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad) announced that a group of militants from an Israeli-backed Palestinian armed group attempted to capture a fighter from the "Al-Qarara Battalion" (subordinated to the PIJ's "Khan Younis Brigade") in the early hours of this morning. The militants, likely part of the small Popular Forces-affiliated armed group known as the "Free Homeland Forces", reportedly advanced into the PIJ-held territory in the ruins of Al-Qarara under the cover of Israeli drones. Palestinian fighters from the Saraya Al-Quds Brigades detected the infiltration force during the kidnapping operation, and fought back with small-arms fire and grenades, reportedly killing and wounding part of the force. The militants were apparently unsuccessful in capturing the PIJ fighter, prompting them to execute him on scene and withdraw alongside their own casualties under the cover of Israeli drone strikes.
