A reminder that the governors implemented lockdowns. Trump could not force governors to open, and he couldn't force them to lock down. They did that.
"Mr. Trump said some governors have deemed abortion clinics and liquor stores as essential but didn’t put churches and other places of worship in that category. “So I’m correcting this injustice and calling houses of worship essential,” Mr. Trump said during a previously unscheduled visit to the White House briefing room Friday.
Mr. Trump in recent days hinted that he was frustrated with some states that hadn’t allowed churches and other places of worship to open and on Thursday said the CDC would issue guidelines soon.
“I call upon the governors to allow our churches or places of worship to open,” he said. “Now, if there’s any question, they’re gonna have to call me but they’re not going to be successful in that call.”"
"The president has no power under existing law to countermand lawful orders from state governments, nor can he unilaterally force private businesses to open their doors against their will, legal experts say. The structure of the U.S. Constitution reserves considerable powers to the states, and gives individuals and businesses significant protections against coercive government actions."

In 2020, we were told that prisoners needed to be released because there was too much coronavirus in prison and because they needed to be available to vote. People believed that.

"The bureau has said it has taken a number of measures in response to the contagion, including suspending visitation and keeping inmates in their quarters with few exceptions. Officials said they also had limited the transfers of prisoners between facilities. But on Friday, the bureau said it would move about 6,800 inmates who have been held in local detention centers across the country to federal prisons.
All will be held at “quarantine sites” where they will be tested both upon arrival and again before being moved to the prison where they will serve their sentence, the bureau said.
Some members of Congress and prisoner rights groups had raised concerns that such transfers would cause the virus to spread."

"It is yet another new development in the Flynn matter, the twists and turns of which have been numerous, and in some cases novel. Attorneys for Mr. Flynn earlier this week asked a federal appeals court to force U.S. District Judge Emmet Sullivan to dismiss the case as the Justice Department has requested. The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on Thursday ordered Judge Sullivan to respond within 10 days to Mr. Flynn’s request.
The FBI’s review is separate from one being conducted by St. Louis U.S. Attorney Jeff Jensen, who unearthed documents from the early stages of the FBI investigation that led to the Justice Department’s recent motion to dismiss the case. The bureau said the same FBI agents that had been assisting Mr. Jensen in his review would be involved in its own assessment.
Mr. Flynn pleaded guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI about his contacts with Russia’s ambassador to the U.S. in the weeks before Mr. Trump’s inauguration, but earlier this year he sought to withdraw his plea and argued that he had been set up by the FBI."
