The days of tashrīq are days of eating, drinking and remembering Allāh ﷻ قال الحافظ ابن رجب رحمه الله: فأيام التشريق يجتمع فيها للمؤمنين نعيم أبدانهم بالأكل والشرب، ونعيم قلوبهم بالذكر والشكر، وبذلك تتم النعمة، وكلما أحدثوا شكراً على النعمة كان شكرهم نعمة أخرى، فيحتاج إلى شكر آخر، ولا ينتهي الشكر أبدًا. (لطائف المعارف، ٥٨٨) Al-Hāfidh Ibn Rajab rahimahullāh said: “So the days of tashrīq amass for the believers the bliss of their bodies through eating and drinking, and the bliss of their hearts with remembrance and thanksgiving, and thus the blessing is completed, and whenever they speak of gratitude for the blessing, their gratitude is another blessing, therefore another form of gratitude and thanksgiving is needed, and gratitude never ends. Increasing in the remembrance of Allāh during the days of Dhul Hijjah - by our brother ‘Īsā bin ‘Umar Al-Peshāwarī

This talk was by our beloved brother Abdurrahmān, an elder who was from America by way of Guayan, rahimahullāh. An excellent example of an upright Muslim man, father and a loving brother/uncle, who I had a very close relationship with. Anyone who met him would be fond of him instantly and would grow to love him dearly. A true companion of sunnah, honest and caring man. He devoted his life to the religion of Allāh and was killed defending tis beautiful religion. We ask Allāh that He bestows His Mercy upon, raises him in rank and makes him from the martyrs. From the amazing stories of our brother and elder was the fact that a beautiful fragrance could be smelt from the wounds on his head where he was bleeding. This was something that thousands witnessed including myself and we ask Allāh that He makes him from those raised on the day of judgement with the blood being the colour of blood but smelling like musk as has come in an authentic hadīth: عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏ "‏ مَا مِنْ مَكْلُومٍ يُكْلَمُ فِي اللَّهِ إِلاَّ جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَكَلْمُهُ يَدْمَى، اللَّوْنُ لَوْنُ دَمٍ وَالرِّيحُ رِيحُ مِسْكٍ ‏"‌‏.‏ Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه narrated that Allāh’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, "None is wounded in Allāh’s Cause but will come on the Day of Resurrection with his wound bleeding. The colour being that of blood but the fragrance that of musk.” (Agreed upon)
