5	Two fallen Indian peacekeepers are being posthumously honored by the United Nations with the prestigious Dag Hammarskjöld Medal for their ultimate sacrifice. Lance Havildar Harbhajan Singh and Naib Subedar Sujit Kumar Pradhan lost their lives while serving under the UN flag in volatile global conflict zones last year. The Dag Hammarskjöld Medal is the highest posthumous honor given by the United Nations to personnel who die while serving on peacekeeping operations. The medals will be formally presented to their families or representatives at the United Nations Headquarters in New York on June 5, 2026.
