At the time of the Bolshevik occupation, Ukraine was called the Ukrainian People’s Republic and it had territories much larger than modern Ukraine, or even Ukraine before 2014. This included ethnic Ukrainian lands that are now part of Poland and territories that are now part of the so-called Russia
