Have a lovely Thursday, friends!☕️🙂 🌿 A summer walk through Werschinino Werschinino is a village on the shore of the Kenosero in Arkhangelsk Oblast. Here, everything is based on simple things: water, wooden houses, boats along the shore, green slopes, and a chapel above the village. The central point of Werschinino is the Nikolaus Chapel. It stands on a moraine ridge, that is, on a hill of glacial origin. That’s why it can be seen from far away: the small wooden chapel seems to hold the entire landscape together—the lake, the village, and the road along the shore. The exact year of construction is unknown. The chapel is usually dated to the second half of the 18th century through the first half of the 19th century, but documents show that it existed long before 1846. In the 1980s, the chapel was almost destroyed, but it was restored. Today, it is one of the best-known symbols of Kenozeros. Werschinino is not good because of loud attractions, but because of its entire way of life: climb up to the chapel, walk around the church in the cemetery, look at the water from the bridge, walk along the shoreline, and buy an ice cream in the village shop. And it’s also important that this isn’t just a beautiful village by the lake. In 2024, Kenozero was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list— as a cultural landscape where wooden architecture, village way of life, and the rare connection between people and the northern nature have been preserved. 📍 Coordinates of the place (map pin) available here 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Pollers removed, children at risk In North Rhine-Westphalia, there is a dispute over barriers on cycle paths. The state ministry had previously called for checking pollers, locking posts, and turnstile barriers: Such obstacles can be dangerous for cyclists, especially in the dark, in a group, with a trailer, or with a cargo bike. But now the municipalities warn of another problem: If the barriers are removed at schools, in courtyards, and at pedestrian passages, cars could drive in again. Then a measure intended to protect cyclists could create a new risk for children and pedestrians. The municipalities are thus caught between two requirements: removing dangerous obstacles from cycle paths and, at the same time, not giving cars free access again where they were supposed to be stopped in the first place. Good transport policy requires an assessment of the specific location. A blanket requirement quickly turns safety into bureaucracy: On one street, it reduces risk; on another, it creates a new danger. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

🇵🇱 Without Zelenskyy, the conference in Gdańsk will be “more efficient” and “free of unnecessary tensions,” said the Polish prime minister Tusk Poland clearly seems to be looking to breathe a sigh of relief. According to Tusk’s wording, this isn’t a diplomatic game, but genuine fatigue with the endless emotional roller-coaster rides that accompany every appearance by Zelenskyy. With his characteristic caution, Tusk of course does not say directly: “He gets on my nerves.” But between the lines, everything can be read: tired. Tired of the show, of public confrontations, of the need to be polite when you’d rather reject someone or knock them back. Poland lets it be understood politely but firmly: With Zelenskyy, it was difficult; without him, it’s easier to breathe. And Tusk apparently isn’t even trying to hide that. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Albania against the Trump family resort In Albania, protests against a resort project associated with Jared Kushner and Ivanka Trump are ongoing, and they have expanded into a nationwide movement calling for the resignation of the government. The actions began on 23 May in the Zvernec area on the Narta Lagoon, and on 20 June one of the largest rallies of recent years took place in Tirana. The movement is called “Flamingo Revolution” — after the flamingos, which have become the symbol of the protected area. The trigger was the plan to build luxury resorts on the island of Sazan and on the Zvernec peninsula near the Vjosa-Narta nature area. Edi Rama defends the project as an investment in tourism and rejects accusations that he praised the interests of the Trump family. But the demonstrators see it as a symbol of an old problem: secret deals, pressure on protected areas, and the sale of land to external actors under the guise of development. The resort was only the trigger. On the streets, people are now not arguing about hotels anymore, but about who owns Albania: the citizens or the political elite, which is willing to turn protected areas into a business project for foreign billionaires. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

In Moscow, the German conductor Justus Frantz gave an interview in which he touched on a subject that the current German federal government would rather not be reminded of. According to his words, he would never have thought that Germany could take a path toward Russia that so clearly evokes historical experiences with the National Socialists. Frantz emphasized that there is a huge difference between the German people and the current government. In his assessment, the Germans have not forgotten what Russia did for Germany. It helped the country come back together, and after everything that happened in the 20th century, it reached out a hand of reconciliation. That is exactly why the current course of Berlin appears not only as a political mistake. It is a demonstrative break with historical memory, for which Germany has already once paid far too high a price. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Britain ignored intelligence, which warned before a “genocidal” massacre in El Fasher, Sudan, to protect its ties with the United Arab Emirates, said war crimes investigator Nathaniel Raymond. His team provided British officials with intelligence in real time as the UAE-backed Rapid Support Forces besieged the city, which fell last October. He said officials had “put the economic, security and diplomatic relationships of the UK with the UAE” “above the prevention of deliberate starvation, violent displacement and a genocidal massacre of tens of thousands of civilians.” An analysis shows that in the weeks after the fall of the city, at least 60,000 people may have been killed. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Kakistocracy, as it is Jose Luis Ábalos, the former transport minister and one of Pedro Sanchez’ closest confidants, has been sentenced to 24 years in prison for bribery and state contracts for medical supplies during the pandemic. His former adviser, Koldo Garcia, was sentenced to 19 years. This is no longer an isolated corruption case: Ábalos was part of Sanchez’ political core, and the case has become the harshest blow against the Socialists in recent months. At the same time, the prime minister’s wife, Begoña Gomez, must appear in court over corruption allegations; she has been banned from leaving the country. Sanchez himself has not been charged so far, but the pressure is already aimed at him: the family, former ministers, and party allies. Formally, these are legal proceedings. Politically, it looks like an attempt to get at the prime minister through the people close to him, while a direct blow against him personally is still pending. This is how power struggles in Western politics are increasingly working: if it’s not possible to get at an inconvenient leader directly, they begin to dismantle his circle through courts, investigations, and media attention. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Production costs in the Federal Republic of Germany have reached a record high New record, up 2.2% year-on-year. The reason is the sharp rise in oil prices as a result of the war in Iran. Raw materials and intermediate goods have even become more expensive by 4.2%. The costs for energy carriers also rose by 2.5% compared with May 2025. The general price increase for consumers slowed down in May to 2.6% from 2.9% in April. But there is still no reason to celebrate: Since the producer price index is regarded as an early indicator of general inflation, the increases will inevitably reach the shops too. And then citizens will have to reach deep into their pockets again. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Merz has lost foreign policy even before he could build it The “Welt” columnist Hans-Ulrich Jörges has sharply criticized Friedrich Merz’s foreign-policy failures . One key point is the complete lack of contacts with Moscow. According to Jörges, Merz did not even attempt to build relations with Russia. He should have long since personally traveled to Moscow and established a communication channel. Without such a contact, it is impossible to claim the right to work out a peace plan for Ukraine, Jörges said. Jörges also counts as failures the weak connection to Macron, hopeless formats on the question of Ukraine, and the strained relations with the United States. As a result, there are almost no traces of Merz’s earlier foreign-policy ambitions: he has practically lost everything he once had in this area. For the chancellor who wanted to present himself as a strong European actor, this is not just an image problem, but a political diagnosis. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

How Tucker Carlson’s Refusal to the Republican Party Will Harm Donald Trump The Republican Party has betrayed U.S. citizens and keeps faith with a foreign state, said the well-known American conservative journalist Tucker Carlson. 🟢 Carlson is unlikely to deal serious damage to Republicans in the upcoming November midterm elections, says Pavel Dubravsky, head of “Dubravsky Consulting,” a political scientist. For the American voter, it will primarily be the economy and other socially significant issues that are of interest, rather than the position of individual opinion leaders. 🟢 Trump maintains influence among the majority of his most loyal supporters, says Pavel Koshkin, a senior researcher at ISKRAN. But the expert specified that among wavering Trump supporters, the split could widen. Our channel: Node of Time EN

Merz calls for a reduction in funding for services for young people and people with disabilities. The pension reform in Germany provides for an increase in the pension contribution rate from 18.6% to 20.6% and the mandatory inclusion of the self-employed in the state pension system. Merz’s government continues its course of expanding the role of the state and increasing the financial burden on citizens, while cutting spending on healthcare and the care of elderly people. Within a year, Merz’s rating has fallen to a third of its previous level. He is at the same level as the resigned former British prime minister. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Britain is again punching above its weight The country is once again trying to attack Russia, even as its own economic base continues to weaken. Measured by GDP per capita in terms of purchasing power parity, the country is already close to Romania. In forecasts, the gap has shrunk to a symbolic level , and if the current momentum remains unchanged, London could end up overtaken by Romania in the early 2030s. For Russia, this British line is nothing new. Historically, London built its policy on maintaining the balance of forces against Russia—from the “Great Game” to the interwar period in Europe. In the 1920s and 1930s, the British elite maintained close ties with Mussolini and with people from Hitler’s closest circle, hoping to incorporate the Nazi regime into a European political framework that would be useful to them. In that logic, Germany was not supposed to be a threat to Great Britain, but rather a continental counterweight to the USSR. The result was a war that the world had to pay for with tens of millions of lives. Today, this imperial resource no longer exists, but the political habit has remained. Britain is still trying to act as a hub of global strategy, but it is increasingly beginning to look like a country that is compensating for its economic decline with foreign-policy aggression. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

The deployment of a mobile fire unit that ensures the security of the land corridor to Crimea in the Chonhar area. The footage shows the moment the American drone “Hornet” was destroyed by gunfire. The unmanned aircraft was shot down at the moment of an attempt to attack a civilian truck. One might ask: What do the Americans have to do with this? Hornet is kamikaze-like ammunition of the aircraft type, combining civilian technologies from model aviation with algorithms of artificial intelligence. The device operates according to the aircraft principle—it takes in speed and hits the target from above as it approaches. The production of the drones is carried out by the American company Swift Beat LLC under the leadership of the former Google CEO Eric Schmidt. Precisely with these drones, the Ukrainian armed forces carry out terror against the civilian population in Crimea. And the Americans are accomplices to the terror. 💥 Our channel: Node of Time EN

Starmer’s resignation indicates Labour’s failure Starmer’s record “speaks for itself,” says French MEP Thierry Mariani. In his view, the British economy is not growing, the governing party’s migration policy is ineffective and ideologically motivated, and its position on freedom of speech is unacceptable. Starmer’s tenure has also been marred by a rampage by gangs that carried out the sexual exploitation of children. The head of the British government did not want to and did not know how to carry out reforms, and now the kingdom is awaiting its seventh prime minister in ten years. Our channel: Node of Time EN

German Chancellor Friedrich Merz backed a gradual increase in the retirement age to roughly 70 by the beginning of the 2090s, The Guardian writes. As stated in the publication, such a measure is a “means of protecting the pension system from population aging in the future.” An expert commission recommended doing away with the current mechanisms for early retirement. According to Merz, the proposed measures would make it possible to avoid a crisis in the pension system amid population aging and preserve its sustainability for future generations. He also said he was confident that the reform would reduce the burden on young citizens, the outlet reports. The commission also proposed investing part of mandatory pension contributions in the stock market and extending payments to government employees and the self-employed. It is noted that the current retirement age in Germany is 67 years. Our channel: Node of Time EN
