The Syrian Foreign Ministry said, the talks addressed key domestic and regional developments, with emphasis on the unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Syria. The US side affirmed its support for the Syrian government, the recent integration agreement with the SDF, and Damascus’ efforts to combat ISIS. The meeting also reviewed bilateral relations and ways to advance cooperation across various fields.

The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced in a statement that they are participating as part of the Syrian delegation at the Munich Security Conference. The delegation includes SDF Commander Mazloum Abdi, Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) Co-Chair Ilham Ahmed, and the so-called Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani. The STG will seek to find fault within the Asayish and the redeployment will be used to further fuel tensions.
