Alabama leads 19 state lawsuit- Sues to Stop Climate-Change Power Grab (Montgomery) – Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall led a 19-state coalition asking the Supreme Court to declare unconstitutional the efforts of California, Connecticut, Minnesota, New Jersey, and Rhode Island to dictate the future of American energy policy. Those five states have brought unprecedented litigation against the nation’s most vital energy companies for an alleged “climate crisis,” and they demand billions of dollars in damages. As litigation proceeds in their state courts, California and the other states threaten to impose ruinous penalties and coercive remedies that would affect energy and fuel consumption and production across the country. Attorney General Marshall’s coalition raises the grave constitutional problems with California’s extraordinary tactics and asks the Supreme Court to take up a multi-state lawsuit. READ

Baltimore bridge collapse warnings issued years ago A maritime safety committee spent two decades warning of the possibility of a catastrophic “collapse” of Baltimore’s Francis Scott Key Bridge, adding that it was “not designed to withstand collisions from large vessels.” Warnings from the committee, which included experts from key government agencies, largely fell on deaf ears, a new report claimed Thursday. NEW: Judge bars prosecutors from using some salacious evidence in Hunter Biden's gun trial The judge presiding over Hunter Biden's federal gun case in Delaware on Friday ruled that prosecutors on Special Counsel David Weiss' team cannot use some salacious evidence in the first son's criminal trial next month, including references to his U.S. Navy discharge and the child support case for his out-of-wedlock daughter in Arkansas. The court met for its final hearing before jury selection begins on June 3. Fox News has previously reported that prosecutors planned to use portions of his book and laptop, including photos, to convince a jury that the first son is guilty of making false statements on a federal form when he purchased a revolver in 2018, while actively using narcotics. Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to the charges. Judge Maryellen Noreika on Friday said that Weiss must show Hunter Biden was addicted to drugs — but not necessarily using drugs the day he purchased the gun. Noreika said the government may use part of Hunter Biden's book where he discusses his addiction to drugs. The prosecution does not plan to bring out the entire infamous laptop containing details of Hunter Biden's life, but will introduce certain portions. Noreika ruled that Hunter Biden’s team will be able to question aspects of the laptop in front of the jury. The laptop, which leaked in 2020 just before the presidential election, was decried as Russian disinformation by 51 former intelligence officials. READ

The Biden administration is increasingly concerned that the intensifying military alliance between Russian President Vladimir Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un could vastly expand Pyongyang’s nuclear capabilities and increase tensions in the Asia-Pacific region, six senior U.S. officials told NBC News. U.S. officials are also bracing for North Korea to potentially take its most provocative military actions in a decade close to the U.S. presidential election, possibly at Putin’s urging, the officials said. The timing, they said, could be designed to create turmoil in yet another part of the world as Americans decide whether to send President Joe Biden or former President Donald Trump back to the White House. “We have no doubt that North Korea will be provocative this year. It’s just a matter of how escalatory it is,” a U.S. intelligence official said. READ

The New York Times really hates patriotic flags, apparently. This perspective comes after the alleged “newspaper of record” breathlessly reported a photo taken last year outside the Jersey Shore beach house of Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito. The snapshot showed several flags flying off a flagpole, including one that reads “An Appeal to Heaven” with a pine tree below it. Next to it was a Philadelphia Phillies flag. “Another Provocative Flag Was Flown at Another Alito Home,” reads the Times headline, adding, “The justice’s beach house displayed . . . a symbol carried on Jan. 6 and associated with a push for a more Christian-minded government.” What’s so “provocative” about this flag, exactly? The Times portrays it as a rally symbol for those involved in the Jan. 6 riot at the Capitol because the flag was seen being held by a few of the protesters there. But there were many different flags seen that day, most prominently the American flag itself. READ

The latest installment of the Twitter Files, authored by Michael Shellenberger, Matt Taibbi, and Alex Gutentag, reveals "ostensibly 'former' IC (Intelligence Community] and CIA analysts were involved in a 2021-2022 effort to take over Twitter's content management system," despite the fact "the law strictly prohibits" employees and contractors of the Central Intelligence Agency from "spying upon or running clandestine operations against American citizens on U.S. soil." The takeover attempt also involved Nina Jankowicz, who led Joe Biden's infamous Disinformation Governance Board, a.k.a. the "Ministry of Truth," and Jim Baker, a former Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) General Counsel and Twitter Deputy General Counsel, who pushed the Russiagate hoax at the former and the censorship of the Hunter Biden laptop scandal at the latter. A Georgia state senator spearheading the probe into the Fulton County district attorney's office says some of District Attorney Fani Willis' claims about her relationship are "dubious" after one whistleblower's testimony. On Thursday, the Georgia Senate Special Committee on Investigations, chaired by Republican state Sen. Bill Cowsert, held its fourth hearing as part of its investigation into Willis' alleged misconduct and misuse of funds. Amanda Timpson, who once served as Willis’ director of juvenile diversion programs, testified that she was demoted and eventually fired after she blew the whistle on the office's misuse of federal grant money.
