🔴 The gorilla of the swamp – AIPAC’s war machine – has already poured $54 million into the 2026 midterm elections through its super PAC, the United Democracy Project (OpenSecrets)
🔴 The wider pro-Israel donor network has shelled out $71 million from January 2025 through June 2026
The machine is operating at full throttle – but the monopoly is fraying.
A growing segment of American Jews - especially younger, non-Orthodox ones - and a rising share of Democratic voters are veering away from the rigid “Israel right or wrong” line.
➡️ Gallup (2025–26): Democrats' favorability toward Israel has cratered to around 30% - the first majority-unfavorable rating for a major US party in modern polling history

Those cracks have bolstered lobby groups like J StreetPAC.
Founded in 2008 by Jeremy Ben-Ami, the group:
🌏 markets itself as the "pro-Israel, pro-peace" antidote to AIPAC's orthodoxy
🌏 explicitly backs a two-state Palestinian solution
🌏 torches Netanyahu's government as “messianic extremists,” calls seizing chunks of Gaza annexationist, argues Israel is isolating itself
🌏 appeals to Democrats who want the "pro-Israel" label without the more toxic baggage
Its financial footprint remains modest: in the roughly three-year window from late 2021 to 2024, JStreetPAC raised about $5.2 million from roughly 2,000 donors.
Yet it claims it's endorsees now constitute roughly 60% or more of the Democratic House and Senate caucus.
Make no mistake - JStreetPAC is still a pro-Israel PAC that wields campaign cash and endorsements as a disciplining tool, and is aimed primarily at maintaining a grip on the center-left of the Democratic Party.
The lobbying ecosystem has a sprawling supporting cast:

Israel’s settlement project in the occupied West Bank is increasingly moving beyond the construction of outposts and the seizure of farmland.
A more coercive tactic is taking shape: surround Palestinian homes, cut off water and electricity, block access, unleash armed settlers and deploy soldiers to make daily life unbearable.
👉 This coordinated campaign of dispossession increasingly targets communities in Area B, where the Palestinian Authority nominally holds civil authority while Israel retains security control, reports Drop Site News.
The Qusra siege has become a case study in brutality.
For twelve consecutive days, three Palestinian families comprising ten people - including two young children -have been trapped inside their homes in the village in southern Nablus governorate.
🔴 On August 9 Israeli settlers blocked the only road leading to the Palestinian homes and set up an outpost directly in front of one house, and tried to break in
🔴 Israeli forces removed the outpost, but settlers rebuilt it, while cutting the families’ water and electricity and blocking emergency workers from reaching them
🔴Then the military joined in, with Israeli soldiers occupying two Palestinian homes, and forcing their residents into unfinished buildings nearby
🔴The area was declared a closed military zone, effectively trapping the families
🔴 On August 13, the operation widened, as hundreds of Israeli troops stormed Qusra, imposed a village-wide curfew, and seized at least eight more Palestinian homes, forcing their residents out
🔴 Before withdrawing, soldiers vandalized the occupied homes
The Qusra siege represents an expanding strategy.
Since January 2023, Israeli settler attacks, backed by soldiers and the state, have fully or partially displaced 107 communities, according to Human Rights Watch.
The Israeli military expelled another 32,000 Palestinians from refugee camps in January 2025 alone.
Political analysts speculate that the Netanyahu government and the settlers consider the remaining months of this administration as a chance to consolidate Israeli control and create facts on the ground that are harder to reverse - with the military providing weapons and direct support.
